@@margaritakleinman5701 I do a good bit of stuff in altered tunings, but what I can't imagine is having it all memorized. Some of the fingerings and chord structures are just so weird compared to traditional tuning, so that I usually have to have my version of "sheet music" (more like tab in some cases) in front of me. This girl, though, just rips this stuff off from memory.
@@margaritakleinman5701 The way she effortlessly executes those artificial harmonics too. I guarantee it looks far easier than it really is. Extremely awkward if playing with a pick, so I hardly ever mess with them.

I'm a guitar player of almost 50 years, and I'm constantly amazed at the talent that I see on RUclips, ESPECIALLY, those like Gabriella that can make a whole BAND, practically an ORCHESTRA, come out of their ACOUSTIC GUITAR!.. I LOVE YOU, Gabriella!.. I HAVE to TELL YOU, I've seen Other guitarists, other artists, who do a similar type of performance, where they play the melody, the chords, the bass, the vocals... BUT NONE OF THEM, and I've seen QUITE a FEW, NONE of THEM has BLOWN ME AWAY, and IMPRESSED ME, as MUCH as YOU have!... GOD BLESS YOU, Gabriella!. I'm SURE you put in YEARS of Hard Work and Practice, but I think your innate talent Must come from God!

@@markj228 Thought so too but you should check Andy's again. They are played quite differently. I'd go so far as to say Gabriella communicates the original energy better at some points.

@@yaboifry2071 I've followed this girl for seven or eight years now...she is the real deal...just because you can't make those sounds (or me either) doesn't mean she can't..
I love seeing how you build the layers for these songs that would normally include multiple tracks or musicians and keep the relevant themes going throughout the piece. It's like performing musical gymnastics.

03/24/2023, USA. Watch the video of Gabriella when she played with Tommy Emmanuel. She matched Tommy note for note. So amazingly talented. The hours of relentless practice that Gabriella dedicates to her music is an absolute blessing to our ears world wide.
Ive been playing Acoustic Guitar for 45 years of my 52 years of life and i learn something new every time i watch you do your Thing. That gives me hope for the Future of music and for the human race

@Nathan Taylor been playing guitar over ten years. It’s a fairly easy song to learn I tried to learn from what chords she’s using and its impossible to make it sound like that where she’s putting her fingers. All of RUclips probably got scammed by her

Bingo you just said it. Better and better. I remember when she was 17 and struggling with timing yet had technical ability beyond most professional acoustic guitarists in the world. I was a pro player for years, and she grabbed my attention like nobody's business. Look at her now. Persistence, consistency, throwing off bad habits and working on her finesse (and timing), becoming a world class guitarist. She's learned to keep brilliant parts quite subtle, which is the trick guitarists use to keep us listening to a song over and over again. Brilliantly, "she nailed it.*

That's a very nice arrangement. When they wrote the song, I wouldn't guess they originally wrote it for a solo instrument. When it goes to the bridge and into the chorus it develops on its own and sounds like it knows where it's going in such a way it couldn't have ever been written by one person just sitting with a guitar. This is the beauty of starting with one idea, sharing it with others, and processing it.
As someone who has played this many times across Scotland and the UK Gabriella, , this is spectacularly brilliant ! Just beyond lovely.

Not to take away any of her beautiful performance... I think a little more funk (rhythmic speed) at the very start would improve the tune.
Yes, I play an Axe,.. And my ear and sense of timing was developed as a percussionist.
It's still an A+...just needs that extra touch which seems to find it's way in halfway through.

I just saw Andy Mckee's version and you impressed me more... This is a top-of-the-world level interpretation.. Exactly what Tears for Fears had at heart I bet.
Yes I did a comparison of both interpretations as well. I found more variation and detail in Gabriella's arrangement and it's more appealing to me though she plays a little slower which makes it even more difficult to attract attention. Sometimes Gabriella forgets to introduce drama in her playing (meaning it's too smooth to my ears) it lacks dynamic (loud and low) and variation in rhythmics (fast and slow). But that's all where I can find room for improvement. She is already incredibly perfect in arranging and playing.

I played pro for years and have watched you come up from a 17 year old who had promise and technical ability well beyond your years.
You struggled with timing a little then, but overcame it with practice while developing this amazing style and ability to bring finesse and subtlety to anything you play.
Tears For Fears was so talented. They didn't get the credit they deserved. I remember this song came out when I was a young cop stationed in England in the United States Air Force. That you know it, studied it, appreciate it as a classic, perfected it and gave it to us like this...
You're on the level of Alexandr Misko and, yes, even Michael Hedges, who, almost 30 years ago, Guitar Magazine called Michael the "Greatest Guitarist in the World."
I'm so glad you stuck with it. I met my (only) wife in January 2009, got engaged in late 2009, stopped playing after my last sold out concert in August 2010, and got married in 2012. Remember what I said. I *stopped playing.*

Awesome arrangement of one of my all time favourite songs. I have been a fan since I first saw your videos at least 3-4 years ago. Quick story. I was Substituting in a music class for this awesome elementary music educator and just before a "lively" grade 4 class came in, I had one of your videos playing. They came in, stopped talking, sat down and enjoyed your musical talent. I'm sure several of them decided to take up the guitar that day, most importantly the girls.
