It's so cool seeing someone making videos about this hobby without incredibly fancy camera gear and lighting and glossy music. A real breath of fresh air
I'm very new to the channel and I'm super glad his videos got recommended to me. Though on the other side it made me consider spending a lot of money on keyboards
You are honestly one of the greatest RUclipsrs ever. Even though you don’t have flashy editing, a regular upload schedule, or fancy cinematic footage, somehow you keep me engaged at every second of the video. You are funny, creative, and have a great personality. Thank you so much for these videos. Keep it up; you will certainly get at least a million subs.
Wow, the editing is immaculate. It's so fun and hilarious - different from what a lot of folks are doing and it stands out! Someone like me, who isn't usually interested in Keyboard customizing, can suddenly be drawn in because of your unique and interesting edits and personality! :] This is inspiring to me - I hope to see some more great content!
When the mini trebuchet has more tactile feel than the "tactile" switch you're launching from it... Feels like victory over fake tactility! Tactile gang rise up!
If you're only looking for the keycaps, just get one of the early G81s. They use the Cherry MY switches, which use MX-style stems so the keycaps are exactly the same, yet the boards are much cheaper. The older ones (the ones without the win keys mostly) also use PBT double-shot or dye-subbed keycaps, which are entirely resistant to yellowing. I'm currently typing this on a set of 40+-year-old cherry keycaps that literally look like they're brand new when cleaned. According to the older Cherry catalogs, they made a lot of ABS keycaps, but I've looked at a lot (and I mean a lot) of vintage Cherry boards and so far, I haven't been able to find a single one with ABS keycaps, at least in Germany. As far as using Retr0Brite (or just plain Hydrogen Peroxide, I don't get why anyone would buy the more expensive stuff. It's literally the same thing), most people recommend using a UV lamp, as it's much faster and gives you more even results than relying on sunlight.
i've had my first mechanical keyboard now for atleast 2 years and only started getting into getting different keycaps and switches for it. now i have just found the best channel that covers all of that.
I found your channel through the PewDiePie vid and even though I have no idea what anything you're talking about means, I've binged like all your videos cos you're just so damn entertaining
I like your keyboard, I just wish it wasn’t missing keycaps and if the retrobrite had finished I think it would’ve looked a lot better, but I do like the retro look
I remember watching your trying mx browns video a year back when you only had 5k subs and now you're all the way at 200k! incredible growth dude, keep up the sick keyboard content good man
I found an old board more than half buried and with roots growing between the keyswitches one I pulled it up. It had been living behind the place I work since 1990 or so and appears to be pre-retooling MX Blacks. Most keys actuate though roughly, some very very smoothly. I'm going to disassemble them all and clean them, soak any metal components in naval jelly, then lube and reassemble and put into a cheap board I picked up online.
What was the name of the keyboard that he used I’ve always wanted to create a build with a kind of retro style keyboard but as u see from this video buying a vintage keyboard is a bit too risky. If any1 knows please reply
@@speartackle Oh I'm past prebuilt mass produced boards. Only limited GB's and custom tuned switches for me. Just looking for another board to add to my collection
im just got a Steelseries Apex 3 as my first good mechanical keyboard and this thing is amazing i now know why ppl are so invested in mechanical keyboards. theyre so smooth and look amazing
About two weeks ago I found your channel. Two weeks ago I didn’t even know you could custom build keyboards. And then in that one Q&A I see that you got introduced into keyboards by Osu which was pretty cool And then you do a video with squashy This was a really cool fun set of videos you three made! Also I really like how squashy made his keyboard case out of wood, that was pretty neat. I can personally see how his keyboard won but the journey you went on for yours was equally as interesting. Kinda sad for you that you couldn’t make the switches you wanted as that would’ve made for a really cool result, but fun video nonetheless and I guess we can all learn from your mistakes here HAHAHA Keep it up bro love the content!
Well the dirt actually gives a certain kind of grip on every keystroke that you just cannot get from regular plastic compounds, not to mention the vibrations caused by the dead skin particles that give a one of a kind depth and thonk on every bottom out.
Yo that keyboard made me think of a custom board I made in 2001. Half AEKII, half Dell Quietkey, half Chicony, hand wired into some random keyboard controller, with a hacked up top plate, and hot glue and Sculpey clay to make everything hold together. It lasted 2 weeks.
Congrats on the KiwiCo sponsorship. We have the subscription from them for our baby. She loves everything that gets sent to us from them. That said...nice budget boards!!!

Wildcat!

Also someone with a personality. Shoobs is the only other entertaining keyboard channel i know of.
You can't spend a lot of money on camera equipment if you spend all your money on keyboards.
And still have way better quality content.
cough cough taeha
damn you just gonna diss taeha and wildcat!?
Dat algorithm bump yo. Came for the pewdiepie keyboard review, subbed and watched literally every video you have uploaded for the comedy
Same, he's awesome. I feel like understanding keyboards is only optional here

Brilliant as always, that 75% retro vintage keeb is a working man's keyboard. Hats off to you sir
i like how he uses his ironing board as a desk for mechanical keyboards
i have zero understanding of anything mechanical keyboard related but i've been binge-watching your videos all day and i have no idea why
Those keycaps really play with the light well. Would cop.
