They edit it to keep the magician's secrets. Being able to infinitely rewind and slow down can ruin most slight of hand tricks, and the show isn't about ruining magic.

Ok guessed it on the third view. Its a simple trick but made really hard to guess due to editing. Note that a person enters the stage at 3:47. He brings in the stand where the white board will be rested. I missed it initially because it was edited. What he also brings in is a rolled up sheet with objects written on it, placed somewhere on the stand. When Tony places the white board on the stand he takes the sheet and places it in his left sleeve. Next notice the camera cuts to Alyson at 3:56, Tony picks up the plastic tube and inserts the hidden sheet of paper in it. Again we missed it due to editing. Usually a trick is easy to guess on RUclips where we can rewind and watch out on slo-mo, but its opposite in this case.
I think he switched the rolls as Alyson walks round the board to stand beside him. He did a very slick spinneroony move. I think that was the vanishing cane thing penn mentioned
Prediction tricks like this usually requires an assistant that brings the Prediction (which he/she has written) to the stage to the magician. . The editing made it very hard to catch that an assistant came on the stage. I had missed that. Good call.
The final sheet was brought on the stage. 3:52 Tony hides it in his sleeve. Then he puts it into his left trousers pocket. 4:26 The sheet from the glass tube is going into his sleeve. At the same time, the new sheet is coming out. Since the two sheets are rolled, they can easily go through each other, remaining in one straight line. Spinning movement and right hand placement are hiding what is going on. It also helps that both tubes are plain white, so from a distance you can't see that one end is going inside and another one is emerging. That is also why for a moment he seems to be holding the roll with both hands: he needs let go of the original sheet to let the new one out (or the old one in, depending on which one is inside the other one). He also probably asks Alyson to move, because she is the only one close enough to tell two rolls apart. This makes her lose her attention a little. When Tony is putting the knife away, he is actually reloading his sleeve with the new roll. At 4:26 you may notice a slight bulge on the inner side of the left sleeve. I also believe that the torn upper corner is a detail intended to reassure the viewers that the new roll is actually the original roll, which Tony slightly tore during the unsealing.
Because Teller is the real magician. Penn is more of a showman, and a juggler, and yes he can do magic, but if you're a magician studying other great magicians, tell her the one who you're looking at.

Yep, the TV viewer only gets a brief glimpse of the guy bringing the, uh, stand. Other that than, I think, all "the moves" were edited out. I think the Fool Us people need to improve their game and stop turning acts into camera tricks.
This is one of the best performances I have seen ever on fool us. Unbelievable that he did this in plain sight and no one even saw. Tony Montana has mastered the mechanics to the nth degree.
You never saw it completely. You briefly see the assistant bring the tripod. This is how the paper he shows the audience is snuck in. Did you see an uninterrupted show of the assistant coming and going? No.
I'm assuming the guy who brought the tripod out hid a correct prediction scroll. Tony loaded that when he set the board down, then did a "magic wand" disappearance/appearance with the scroll from the tube. However, the video doesn't back up anything that I just said so I could be completely wrong. I'm just trying to fit what Pen said into the routine.
You are more than likely correct other magicians on the show have said it's edited in their favor. But typically how these tricks are done assistant watches and makes the custom item and swaps it. Many different ways to skin this cat.
at 3:47 there's someone else coming to the stage to bring the prop that holds the board. That's when the "prediction" is coming. Also you can see that the handwriting from prediction which is supposedly from Tony, and the handwriting on the first board (names in black written by him) are totally different.
I feel like this edit of the video omits something. My prediction was some kind of printer, so slight of technology. If this was slight of hand, I don't see where there was any room for a hand-off of the new 'cane'. Either way, a great effect.
What you saw was what you thought was paper in a tube, but the real paper was brought by the guy walking onstage with the (pointless) stand for the whiteboard. I am familiar with what penn was talking about. Very familiar.

After the assistant brings out the stand for the dry erase board, even tho the edit cuts out the hand off, you can see the tube in Tony's left hand, up his sleeve.
Yeah his hand/arm is in an odd position. The editing really helped him conceal the trick. Surprised it fooled Teller, but probably because he had already convinced himself the trick would be done a different way.
There was a free choice of colour and words for sure. So the prediction was created AFTER Alison chose "green tree". The question here is how did the prediction ended up ROLLED together with the paper since the packaging is transparent and the audience would have seen that? (So I am guessing Penn describing "vanish, transformation and appearance" means that the prediction paper revealed was not the paper that we were watching since the begining? It was swaped? So "Vanishing cane" means the original paper roll is not there anymore?) Either case, it was amazing routine! Congratulations Tony!
It's a classic old school magic trick, actually two tricks. One involves an assistant with a tripod, which was brought after the word "tree" ... The trick of "disappearing magic wand" immediately follows - there was such a "magic wand" in the cylinder before the magician's left hand replaced it (transformed). However, this part was intentionally removed.
@@steliosaa2 Television adjustments in this show have been criticized for many years. Penn was even accused of protectionism. In one 2-minute monologue on his show, he tried to dispel critics' doubts, but he elegantly bypassed the editing of the records - it's a matter for the producers. Because this type of trick would be pretty easy to figure out if they kept the camera on him the whole time. There were two crucial edits that concealed how it was done.
@@GameTime-yj6qv So the live audience gets to know, but the tv viewers are punked by the show. Basically I can go on, have a car in front of me, tell them to turn the cameras, have the car moved, turn the cameras back on and hey, I made a car vanish……………….
@@jdssurf I'm with you man, not a fan of the cuts because yes anyone can look like a magician with cuts. Not a fan of this particular type of trick because if you have seem enough of them you know the gist of how they are pulled off. The editing made it difficult to see though, like cutting up with the assistant brought the board on stage.
@@GameTime-yj6qv makes me crazy, ruins it for the home viewer. I was loving the show till I started seeing how much they do that. I mainly just like the theatrical acts now, otherwise, they are screwing me.
@@jdssurf there's some cuts on closeup card tricks where they also conceal certain shuffles etc. Sometimes the deck of cards is on the table, then after the cut its on the magicians hand. Stuff like that where you don't know what they did during the cut.
The answer sheet is printed offstage while the magician reviews everything. The stagehand brings it out taped up and stuck to the back of the stand. The magician retrieves it while fiddling with the stand and conceals it in his left sleeve. Note how that arm is rigid/favored. The original paper disappears like the spring loaded disappearing cane as Penn describes and becomes hidden in the white end of the tube. As the cane retracts, the magician drops the paper from his sleeve into the tube (note how tightly it is rolled). Inviting Allison to come up misdirects everyone from this move.
I don't see anything that you talk about. What stagehand? Tube is clearly out front and not touched. He doesn't "fiddle" with the tube...just lifts it out of the holder. I don't see where his arm is rigid, etc.
@@KaitouKaiju Not true. The skateboard trick that fooled them was explained and it was done by having a stage hand place the card on a prop. The magician grabbed the placed card and applied it to the bottom of the board. That was considered a legitimate fool by the magician as well as Penn & Teller.
Agree with this. They cut out the assistant piece and also cut away from the crucial pick up of the tube. Shame really as it must work live so not sure why they have to cheat like this.
Scratch that. Reverse it. The magician placed the card behind the prop and the off stage assistant placed the card on the bottom of the skateboard. Penn and Teller even guessed that an assistant took the card and ran it to the other side of the stage to place on the board, confirming that outside help is definitely allowed.
It's a shame. The producers have fooled themselves by being such cowards. This show isn't about ruining magic, it's about SHOWING magic, not concealing it. At least we have Penn and youtube comments to read about an act that would not be presented. And if the trick is bad, or badly presented why appreciate it? Could it be just another case of business interest (of the producers) killing art and truth at the same time... Or was it you, Tony, the owner of this channel, who cut the video afterwards for obvious reasons?
3:48 moment key. This man has the prediction paper. 3:483:49 video cut. 3:54 now the prediction paper is in his sleeve. 3:583:59 video cut not show how the paper is inserted in the tube. Bye bye

And just like the real Tony Montana, his magic empire crumbled when he crossed the wrong magician.
Amazingly done ✅
Felicitaciones Tony, el primer argentino que veo en Fool Us. PD: No tengo ni idea como se hizo el truco.
Desafortunadamente, no puedes ver todo. The editors cut part of the trick on the broadcast :/
3:59 Damn, that is some serious misdirection, I want to watch the magician now, but I cannot help myself and have to see the Alyson instead:) Good on Peller (errr Penn) to keep watching though.
That's Tenn to you
@@tzuyd lol, you are right, I always confuse the two, they look like twins, and they wear same clothes :p
Anyone saw the updated garrett thomas controversy explanation video by irehman7 where a judge said that the show does not edit to deceive nor to make the act more magical? Certainly does not seem so in this case.
The judges are lying. There's more editing than imaginable. Everything is edited to hide the trick. I think I'm done watching the show.
Get over it. Some shows are even scripted. If I ever learned anything from these guys is not to trust what seems solid as steel such as the rules of the show.
Bullshit some of the tricks that I know how it's done because I own them or similar tricks , I can see some of the crucial parts are edited out.
Penn voice made me wanna clear my throat
no tengo ni idea de como hiciste, jajajja. muy bueno chabon!
Who the hell is that guy on 3:49 ???
Is he who make the switch ??!!
Can't be that abvious !!!
he brings in the "prediction" in the stand for the white board, but the switch might have been done on camera.....
edited out
I don't know what that guy is doing there. But I've seen this trick in person and I can guarantee that Tony Montana is always alone on stage. No partenaires at all.
@@marcrivasc In this instance he definitely brings it onstage with the stand.
wow.... nice👍
First watch and if there isnt a joke in there I will be dissapointed.
Who is the guy that walks in at 3:48 and where did he go?
Does not matter who he is or where he went. He is from back stage and brings the prediction paper to the stage.
I just subscribed to your channel.😊😊
Penn states before he came out the prop was already there. So how can Camera cuts have an effect
I'm surprised to know that Penn doesn't have a red fender stratocaster yet... 🎸
my uncle gave me his '66 strat for xmas it's awesome!
but it needs 2 strings
@@Gravydog316 That's cool. You have a great uncle. 66 strat is a dream to any guitarist. get those strings ASAP and get rocking. all the best to you
@@bassanup haha thanks :)
Brilliant job, SIr.
I found 3 parts he had the time to FOOL BUT he fool me because the printing is not the same the only way i could think about that is to have copy So he can stick the paper to the other side and that's how he switched the paper when Ellison came that was the critical time to switch... So i know he switched the paper that's on cam But that's the thing you can understand some code words but they dont film the all time and the time he going back from the stage that's the first "time" he had... So he could type two of the first things there then when he joke with Ellison about the tree it gave him more time to complete all part then switch the paper... And that's what the TV show didn't let us look.
Hopped up out the Porsche
..you left him no choice
to the producers of fool us, please stop cutting part of the acts out, it's really disrespectful for the magician and for the viewers. otherwise it becomes a video editing show, not a magic show. thanks. please share this
Amazing job Mr Tony, I was in complete Awwww at the end. Looking forward for more from you sir.
Love from Iran.
How did he get all their words on the paper tho
Camera guys always show the most beautiful women in the crowd lol.......right before Penn starts to talk
So beautifully presented Tony👌bhai wikipedia.org/wiki/bhai
.
and such excellent😄 stage presence and confidence, the '😆i am from Argentina' jokes👌😄 about the marker is costly or the man of few words joke.
.
Trust me.. one of the most cleverly and smoothly done routines i have seen.
.
again😎 wishig you more successes and peace with joy, health!
Petition to raise a fund for buying Penn a red Fender Strat ...
Still, Fooling 1 of them is still a big thing!
I'm Teller side with this, you totally surprised me! I don't know if the video cut hid something, but if it didn't, I still have no idea how you performed the list as told by Penn, amazing!
Why would they take the cameras off him during the trick lmao come on.
I'm disappointed Penn & Teller would allow that sorta video editing.
3:56 the prediction stand is SHAKING after its been switch by the man walking with the prediction stand hiding it behind his back at 3:49 lol
It only shakes after the magician steps near it, causing the stage to wobble. Watch the floor.
"I'm Tony Montana!"
No outside help is allowed
I think the best trick is what's happening in the comments. Las vegas all round 🤩
This trick looks squeaky clean cz of heavy editing
3:49
No tengo la más pálida idea de cómo lo hiciste...
Great job man!
At 3.58 sure he did his trick
And you only have two things in the world...
With that name mafia boss would have been the ideal job :)
3:48 moment key. This man has the prediction paper. 3:48 3:49 video cut. 3:54 now the prediction paper is in his sleeve. 3:58 3:59 video cut not show how the paper is inserted in the tube. Bye bye
He has the exact voice as Berlin of Money Heist
Is it only me who laughed when teller wrote down test tube
