Ironically, getting the perfect "1 star" tactics rating in FE7 Hard displays extreme skill, because you need extensive game knowledge in order to fail this hard while still being able to complete the game. It's actually more difficult than completing the game "as intended" where you have more tactical options.
Surprised Excelblem didn't redo the run to actually get the theoretical minimum ranking using the new method in the comments that didn't require 1000 years of nonstop play.
15:29 "She is able to un-sheath the Manni Katti, which has deemed her worthy to be its wielder. However, the fact that this Legendary weapon has chosen Lyn means nothing. Because the Lycian League allocates executive power based on heritable noble lineage, and not some farcical Sacaean ceremony." It's always amusing hearing a slight Monty Python reference... Assuming it is one.
Though the Mani Katti is apparently worth 0 gold and you can't discard it, if you really wanted to you could let someone die with it, effectively discarding it.
I love how not only is FE7's Tactician Rating system both extremely complex and not really important in the grand scheme of things... But getting the worst ranks possible is actually harder than playing the game normally, and this is the one with many infamously hard chapters (Lloyd's version of Four Fanged Offense, Genesis, Battle Before Dawn, etc.)
This is amazing xD I love the "hall of shame" moments where you get to see the character dialogue for the worst tactician possible. I'd never seen Lyn's line for the E rank tactician! Looking forward to seeing what Hector has to say!
I don't play Fire Emblem, but I love Challenge Runs that radically change the core gameplay, & I think avoiding EXP, wasting money, & sending their units to death in losing battles while wasting turns is exciting, so I'm looking forward to this! Thanks for uploading! Might comment more later!
11:38 Lol. Fitting name for an early game foe, considering glass breaks easily. 20:22 Chapter 4 is hilarious to me, because you learn about this lady's husband, Dorcas, then recruit him JUST so he can die by the bandits he was previously fighting alongside. As a possible counter to this sort of run, I am curious to see if it is possible to beat LHM with the most tactician stars possible while also getting Nils to L7 (for 19xx). It is something I have pondered for a while but not attempted
@sebastianlucas704 from L1 to L7 using Play takes only 60 turns. However if you include dodge attacks from enemies that's 1 xp per attack, so every 10 attacks focused on Nils reduces this turn count by 1

You say that characters are dying, but strictly, no characters are allowed to die during Lyn's story, since they come back in Eliwood's story later...I'm pretty sure they do even if they are wounded in Lyn's story.
I'd also like to add that some of the star ratings in the tactician rating set could probably be optimized to let you get away with more items, causing net gains to be easier to manage later without throwing out everything you own, or let more characters survive some chapters where you wanted to kill them for minimum survival, without actually gaining any more TP, but that'd require much more precise analysis and rationalizing. "If I kill a character here, I can take more money into the next chapter" kinda deals.

This is just an editted movie version. Little sad, but maybe the next mode will come sooner because of it.

He made a video on it. I'd you were to theoretically dodge and not hit the bandit in the prolouge you could shave off a tactician star.

Bit late, but I'm pretty sure it's impossible. You need a considerable amount of turns to grind up nills, at least 500.
