Wow. I've been listening to Papa Roach for 20 years. I heard this song when it came out and having grown up in a Christian household and community it immediately resonated, and....not gonna lie, it sounded "religious." Today I found out Jacoby is a Christian and watched him share his testimony with his church. So powerful. Listening to this song again it really is his testimony in music form. I am so happy he has found peace and life in Jesus. I want to find the same, I don't know why it's so hard.
*LYRICS* I'll follow you out of the dark I tried it my way But I keep falling apart All that I see is the wickedness around me I refuse to believe the apocalypse inside of me I can't even trust myself I'm burning in my skin Standing at the gates of hell But nobody will let me in I'll follow you out of the dark I tried it my way But I keep falling apart I'll follow you with all of my heart I'm tired of my ways 'Cause I keep falling, I'm falling apart I stand here again Forsaken in a place that feels like I can never win I'm reaching for a saving grace I can't even trust no one I need to rise above I don't think I'm good enough To feel your perfect love I'll follow you out of the dark I tried it my way But I keep falling apart I'll follow you with all of my heart I'm tired of my ways 'Cause I keep falling, I'm falling apart I'm falling, I'm falling apart I'm falling, I'm falling apart I'm falling apart Your love's a fire, it's alive and I'm burning in it I'm in the ashes of mercy, I'm covered in it I fall hard and you carry me I fall apart so you can set me free Your love's a fire, it's alive and I'm burning in it I'm in the ashes of mercy, I'm covered in it I fall hard and you carry me I fall apart so you can set me free I'll follow you out of the dark I tried it my way But I keep falling apart I'll follow you with all of my heart I'm tired of my ways 'Cause I keep falling, I'm falling apart I'm falling, I'm falling apart Without you I'm falling apart I'm falling, I'm falling apart
This song to me is about God. Whenever i entered that dark place again it really helped bring me back. All i have to remember is the love of God. When you know the love of God you are never the same again. The best thing about this song is it has different meaning to everyone who listens to it. I first heard this song when I had hit rock bottom and started to find my way back to God. I've always loved Papa Roach but when i heard this song , it was the theme song that kept me going and striving to find way back to God and stop trying to fix myself all on my own.
Papa Roach: Not a christian band (songs can still be interpreted as christian) TFK, Red, Fit For A King, ect: Christians bands (songs can still be interpreted any other way) That's why associating music with religion is ultimately meaningless nowadays
I saw them live, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. But they didn't do this song, and I was pretty bummed out. After the show, I was waiting for a ride outside, and someone drove out of the lot blasting this song. I guess I wasn't the only one who'd missed it!
It's funny you mention that. I always thought there were two papa roach. the ( last resort - hollywood- getting away with murder) papa roach. Then there is my papa roach ( scars - before i die - fallin apart) i think both are good but i like the second much better ..unfortunately IT'S not the live p.roach we get. i like the songs with a strong hook, or noodle whatever. more melodic i would say. SO BAND DO A MELODIC P. ROACH SHOW AND I'LL FOLLOW YOU.!!!
This song has helped me so much the last few years in rebuilding myself up from some hard times and lows. So inspiring and sounds like there’s some Christian roots to these lyrics potentially.
This song has inspired my perseverance and steel spirit and my majorly resilient mind for years now. I have conquered and persevered and come back from so much more than anyone would believe and most people would have given up long before me but nothing has defeated me yet but this song definately relates well to me. I have conquered and survived epilepsy for 18 years, cured it with and survived successful brain surgery, i survived being homeless 3 times and now i am housed in a brand new 2 bedroom house, i couldnt have children because i had a lot of cysts in both my ovaries, i cured every cyst in both ovaries independently with intermittent fasting and i still conceived my first child. I had to lose my unborn baby to save and safeguard protect my 2 year old son. I had to survive 3 months without my 2 year old son when he was taken from me. The man i love, The father of my unborn recently deceased child recently tried to kill himself because he lost me and our unborn child because local authorities sabotaged our relationship. I am still here and still fighting to get my child back doing whatever it takes to get him back regardless of the cost because he should never have been taken from his mother to begin with and its my job to be there for my kids and i will die trying and doing my job as a competent committed mother protecting my kids regardless of the cost and i will never regret doing it even if i die trying.
Jacoby Shaddix calls this song a "Callout to God." In the interview, he explained that it's a very spiritual song, and that "God" is simply his name for a higher power. @@joshphillips7014 Yeah, Jacoby is a Christian nowadays and is very open about it. I never had a problem with them before he became a Christian but I'm a huge fan of the lyrical direction and musical direction they went in for this album and Crooked Teeth. "Your loves a fire it's alive and I'm burning in it" When I heard these lyrics I lost it. Jesus pulled me out of my prison and baptized me with his eternal fire. Jesus loves YOU! And if you don't believe that, you haven't studied the Bible enough.

I think so many are looking for the Papa Roach from 8 years back, but he/they had a fire sparked & it's deep. Now maybe one should look to the heavens while listening to this album because there's a definite shift in the message. It's no surprise to me at all, he was searching back when he recorded "Last Resort" where he states "searching to find a love upon a higher level." It's still a great album, the messages are subtle but they're there. The recording industry & psych studies state listen 3 times & you'll probably get hooked, so go binge on F.E.A.R., Face Everything And Rise! You might just love it. Peace.

Great song and BTW to all the people bashing on the video, just because you can't understand it, doesn't mean it's bad, yes its a very cryptic video but it doesn't mean there is not a message behind it,
Mundane05 I could come up with an interpretation of my own but I really don't want to be one of those people who go like "duh well its very easy this is a psychological interpretation of the inner child and his desire for bla bla bla" as you can see there is already plenty of people doing that, quite honestly I prefer to be open minded about it and hope that someday Jacoby and company will give us the real meaning behind it, until then, everything else is pure speculation, nothing more.
Joshinator60 personally its called life we all change and grow for better or worse in this case I think they've grown for better then there older stuff I guess that's because my first song from them was Last Resort and was one of my only favorites from their older era.
Looking through comments and seeing how many people you have helped with this song makes me happy inside :) I'm here from Bert K's podcast... Love your work!
How can be everyone saying shit about the video? Are you blind?. Does a videoclip need to make perfect sense with the song lyrics? That's wrong. This video is a beautiful piece of visual art and everything is really well shaped and blended with the song. The color is amazing, the scenarios, the makeup, the fx, the editing and the tension, the non stop runing, etc. We need to learn that a videoclip doesn't need to be the most accurate and understandable representation of the lyrics.
+René TR Yes, people were falling apart, because they were all falling apart no one had time to help each other , falling apart is like that, not much cryptic about that. I think people wanted their Disney happy ending or something.
+Processdrone In one scenario i want a happy disney ending. But the song and the music video are both amazing and i'm not sure how you can't understand it. Sorry for my bad english.
Wow I love this song, Just discovered these guys at 50, Great Gospel song with a preacher in the video I get it... when you're falling apart to follow Christ with all of your heart and by His Love He will carry you in the hard times out of this dark world POWERFUL MESSAGE to be covered in Christ's Mercy 2:00
Ignore the comment above me. This song is more on the djent metal side of influence. Songs with this vibe you might like are Dayseeker - sleeptalk, spiritbox - blessed be, bring me the horizon - 1x1, sevendust - death dance, and Northlane - 4D.
Video Explanation/Interpretation - She is falling apart piece by piece through the course of the video, it depicts how things in your life matter more than your life itself like in this one it shows money , the fireworks scene depicts the madness around our life and the place where the man and woman are seeking help but the girl just passes because of her own selfishness and greed, and in the scene where her hand is bleeding she realises its too late and then she dies.
+Hait Parikh The drugs( which were in the bag ) was a burden of hers, which is depicted in this video literally as a burden. Her leaving the bag with most of the cash was her trying to make up for her wrong choices in life, but to no avail.
That doesn't sound completely off. A pointless distraction in her life? Or maybe a pointless distraction to her, atleast. Education, maybe? We don't exactly know how deeply involved with the drugs she was, so her education could've been pointless in her own eyes.

Wow this is powerful! Bad wolves friends from Feenix.
Papa roach has changed alot. Not bad, but very different than what they used to be like.
I think they decided to go back to their original 90s sound with their new song "Crooked Teeth".

I'm pretty sure it's called growth & evolution. Great band and I've enjoyed evolving with them
Joshinator60 personally its called life we all change and grow for better or worse in this case I think they've grown for better then there older stuff I guess that's because my first song from them was Last Resort and was one of my only favorites from their older era.
Joshinator60 I really like them more now
Ive listened to this song countless times. Never got the religious undertone to until today. I love this song even more now.
2019 and still a great song. Love Papa Roach
My dream is to meet you bro, your songs are driving me through my darkest days, you are my hero
Don't meet your heroes kid. They say it's bad luck.

Great video,Great song..what more can you say?
such a great song but so underrated
Esta rola está súper buena y qué decir de la voz de Jacoby estupenda.
We need to learn that a videoclip doesn't need to be the most accurate and understandable representation of the lyrics.
best comment ever :)
Yeees
thank youuuu!

Yes, people were falling apart, because they were all falling apart no one had time to help each other , falling apart is like that, not much cryptic about that.
I think people wanted their Disney happy ending or something.
+Processdrone In one scenario i want a happy disney ending.
But the song and the music video are both amazing and i'm not sure how you can't understand it.
Sorry for my bad english.
i listen to this band sence 2007 , still an underrated band ..
THIS S BY FAR THE BEST ALBUM THAT PR HAS EVER CAME OUT WITH I LOVE IT
The video fits well with the song 'In the end'
'But in the end it doesn't even matter...'
Una canzone bellissima ragazzi... Vi adoro dall'italia e sono un fan dei Papà Roach dai tempi di to be loved.
To anyone out there hurting - we love you and we can fix this
This is so good but you must hear "Terminator" or "Seen/Unseen" by SLT 🤘
Fix this (),()
Great song. I can't go five minutes without listening to it
Cause I'm so much more than meets eye 😊
Woo 2021 still here still strong
Listening to it on Dec 14, 2019, because of The HU - Wolf totem feat. Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach.
you never listened papa roach??
@@leonelvidal7118 Yes, till the combination with the The Hu.
@@leonelvidal7118 me 🙋
ALL GLORY TO GOD FOR SUCH BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!
hope they come to AZ soon been dying to see them!!!
I'm addicted to this song. please tell me songs similar to this one, please?
Ignore the comment above me. This song is more on the djent metal side of influence. Songs with this vibe you might like are Dayseeker - sleeptalk, spiritbox - blessed be, bring me the horizon - 1x1, sevendust - death dance, and Northlane - 4D.
End transmission - fire from the gods
P Roach truly is the New Black. These boys still killing it over 20 years later...
One of the BEST song EVER
Video Explanation/Interpretation - She is falling apart piece by piece through the course of the video, it depicts how things in your life matter more than your life itself like in this one it shows money , the fireworks scene depicts the madness around our life and the place where the man and woman are seeking help but the girl just passes because of her own selfishness and greed, and in the scene where her hand is bleeding she realises its too late and then she dies.
+Hait Parikh Very good explanation! way to use your imagination
+Hait Parikh And society has already "fallen apart"
+Hait Parikh The drugs( which were in the bag ) was a burden of hers, which is depicted in this video literally as a burden. Her leaving the bag with most of the cash was her trying to make up for her wrong choices in life, but to no avail.
+Thomas Byrne I will let someone else have a shot at that, as I'm not entirely sure.
That doesn't sound completely off.
A pointless distraction in her life?
Or maybe a pointless distraction to her, atleast. Education, maybe? We don't exactly know how deeply involved with the drugs she was, so her education could've been pointless in her own eyes.
Great song great band much love ❤ rock on 🤘
Throwing this out there for all the 90s kids, but this band is top 10
