When I first saw George and Tammy offered on Hulu I passed it by. But then I realized that hey, this is a love story, between two successful people, and it's TRUE. Love stories are timeless, and though Im not into country music (UNTIL GEORGE AND TAMMY! ), I gave the show a go, and I am SO glad I did! The show is fantastic. I so don't look forward to it ending! I've also been listening to country music since watching the show! It's so cute! Especially the songs in the movie! HIGHLY recommended!
I personally knew George and Tammy before and after they were married. I knew them well and nobody could have played them better than Michael and Jessica. I thinks Michael did a wonderful job with playing George and also with singing Georges songs. My husband and I were surprised when we heard them sing. I knew they were the best when it came⁷ to acting but didnt know they could also sing so good. My husband would love to produce and release a record on them. They are very good individually and as a duet as well. Of course we know they're not into singing, they are to busy acting to want to record, but it would sure be nice.
Jessica Chastain is beyond a masterclass of acting. She's a Triple SSS Platinum Ranking class of acting. There's nobody better in the world today.
They both did an outstanding job in the Showtime series. I just wish hat the series had been longer, much longer.

Read Jones’ autobiography. I don’t know nothing about this here show but the book itself is hilarious. Buy it for anyone that loves George Jones great stocking stuffer.

Not to take anything away from Tammy's singing....Jessica's version is actually much better, to my ears. I hear sadness in her version. In Tammy's "recorded versions" I hear someone sick of singing the same song again and again. The way Jessica says "apt #9" is...golden. The background singer does a phenomenal job too!

It looks like Chastain is actually singing this. If so, not bad. She's not Tammy, of course. Not even in the same time zone. But still, alright. I'll give her a 7.75.

Good acting I'm sure but Tammy had a voice that was was piercingly powerful in both in range and emotion. This actor's singing voice isn't even strong. It's weak. Why would they employ and actress to play one of the greatest singers ever who doesn't even have at least a strong voice ?
She wasn't trying to be as good a singer as Tammy. She isn't a singer, she's an actress. She was acting the role of a singer named Tammy Wynette.
This is so bad it hurts. She did a horrible Tammy if we are to be honest, it’s almost like she had no idea who Tammy Wynette was or never heard her before

My problem they should have used an actress who has a powerful singing voice. I mean this woman can carry a tune but it takes far more than that to attempt to portray a singer known for her pipes. Tammy's voice could shatter glass.
@Coogan There was a Tammy Wynette TV movie done in the 1980's that pretty good and the singing in it is far better than this.
