I remember my uncle telling my dad when we went up to Nashville in around 64, "Ya'll should have come yesterday, George and Tammy were here for supper last night. Jimmy c newman or my uncle jy got me a spot on the opry, and I had several interviews on the ralph emmery show a few years later. Too bad drugs were so important to me back then. I did finally meet mr jones and many more. I miss them all now, at 75 years old.

Well who should the money go to? Do you really think he was a good father? All his children should have a share.

    • @SuzyQ1956

@@bluemoon2675 I don’t think he was a good father, and I know he had a wife that sold the copy rights to his music for 30 million, not to mention his home, jewelry and whatever else he owned, his long time friend and songwriter Peanutt Earl Montgomery had to sue her for 5 million, that was owed to him. Actually it was money George wanted Peanutt to have it. I think he left 50,000 to Georgette, his wife wouldn’t even allow his children to sit up front with the family at the funeral, she has Garth Brooks, Laura Bush and whoever with her. I couldn’t lay down and sleep at night knowing that I didn’t share with his children.
I guess he should have had a Will but the just decent thing to do is give them some, after all George Richey took all of Tammy’s money and her girls got nothing, I know she would not have wanted that to happen. All this is on the internet. Things aren’t always as they appear.

I appreciate Nancy for keeping George alive for I’m sure many years, but other than that I despise the woman. She was a shrewd businesswoman and controlled pretty much George’s every move. She convinced him that everyone wanted his money. Yes, some did, but people like his kids were kept out of his life. He owed them back money and never paid child support for any of them. They were all left out of his will. I feel Nancy only did things that benefited herself. She wrote books and peddled them on the road at concession booths. I’d watch her there and she’d spend more time talking about herself.

@@terri5757 yes still making money off of him, selling books, guitars whatever to make money, she’s a greedy person from what I have seen. Sometimes I wonder if George just stayed with her because he was tired of giving up everything and starting over. George was still doing shows right up until when he died, seems to me he would have wanted to spend the time with his children, I think he knew he didn’t have much time. I’ve been told Peanutt Montgomery tried to see George before he passed and she wouldn’t allow it. They were friends for many years and one of his songwriters.
It’s very sad how his children have been treated.

Merle wasn't a prize either. He had kids he claimed and others he didn't. They said he could act like Charles Manson when he would get mad. He committed numerous robberies and he screwed Waylon out of money at cards
