George Jones is a legend. I love his music. My dad played it all the time. I will forever love him. My dad is gone. But when I listen George he brings a lot of memories back. I’m thankful.

No way! I was reading about Tammy a few months ago and was sad because I thought she would never get a bio pic like she deserved. Her life was so tragic but it’s great she is getting the recognition she deserves.
I love Jessica singing Tammy's songs, sounds so much like Tammy. She looks like a Tammy as well. I watched Tammy perform many many times, so I can say Jessica did a fabulous job singing Tammy's songs. It's amazing how she pulled off the whole thing of being Tammy. She sounds like her, looks like her and even has Tammy's disposition. My husband and I toured with George and Tammy the entire time they were married,so i know what sounds. Likes, looks like and a ts like Tammy and Jessica does it all. Tammy made over!!!!

Loved this movie. So sad though George and Tammy broke up and she ended up with someone who helped her drug up . Should of stayed with George. George truly loved her
Oh wow. Tammy's voice was unique. It was also higher and had such power behind it. (And let's not even discuss the really unfortunate accent in this scene.) I wonder why they didn't have this actor lip sync? I'm sure she's a lovely actor, and she can obviously sing. But I can't get past just how incredibly different her voice is from the woman she is portraying. It's not even slightly similar.
I couldn't agree with you more your comments are spot on. Exactly what you are talking about, I think , is evidenced on Tammy Wynette's brilliant rendition of "i'm so Afraid of Losing you Again, " just to mention one example
I love this series, I never liked Richie and after watching E5 now my suspicions about him proved true. Tammy married him because, Richie was keeping her high on the hard drugs. Tammy was still on love with George. Richie beat her and made Tammy go on tv with that stupid story. About getting kidnapped but nothing was taken from her, not her purse, wallet, CC. The police had to have known the truth. I hope Richie is rotting in hell right now. R.I.P. Tammy & George Jones 💔💔 P.s. thank you Nancy for helping George get clean. Your one awesome lady . ❤️
I respectfully disagree - I feel like that would've felt extremely cheesy. I like that Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain actually sang and showcased their musical talents and their singing voices match their actual voices.
Other than the fact that she's blonde and singing a Tammy Wynette song, she looks and sounds nothing like the legend. This clip reminds me of the critique THE Etta James made of Beyonce's performance of her in Cadillac Records...
@@anthonyangeli256 it can be used to create a very obvious distortion, which is how many people know it, but it is also used more subtly on almost every commercial hit song since the 1990s. You can look it up on Wikipedia. The more off key the person is, the more robot like the autotune sounds. You can tell, for instance, in a show like Glee who the stronger singers were by how much less obvious the autotuning on their voices was.

She had a movie about her back in 1980’s called Stand by Your Man. This movie is George & Tammy.
I feel like she gets her country draw down pretty well. Great actress.

She sounds autotuned. Why do they do that! I'd much rather hear her be a tiny bit flat than have her voice flattened out.
She’s not auto tuned. I was in the audience as she performed this, and she sounds exactly the same as she did live the night we filmed this scene
