    The best demo of this model I've seen. I have been using Instant Pots and Misen Multiport's for a very long time. I am convinced this pot will replace my current 6 qt pots. I live at 4600' elevation, and the preset buttons will allow most repeat-cooked items to have the elevation time adjustment already made. Thank you!😊

    Thank you! I just got a new one for Christmas, and watched another 'Beginner' video. She was fine when describing the pot features, but as soon as she went over to using the buttons, she speeded up! And it was very hard to see whether she was pressing something or what! I listened to one 5 second section 4 times, trying to understand what she did!
    All that to say, you were so much easier to follow! Thank you!

    Thank you for this video! I've been on a research hunt for the last two days regarding getting an Instant Pot --we've been changing our diet over to a more anti-inflammatory type of eating and I was thinking that an IP would help me get into a routine of more beans in the diet, etc. But most every video I've watching has been either super confusing, or just not a lot of good info. You are a very good instructor! Clear and detailed. I haven’t bought an IP yet but trying to learn beforehand. I have an IP Gem Multicooker which does not have pressure. I’m going to try baking bread in it but was wishing the IP Pro could be used that way. Since it has a bake function, I wonder if anyone has tried to bake a boule. I also wish the pro had the air fry lid. Thank you.
    BTW several people have shown using the IP for rising dough on the yogurt or keep warm serving. So that does help in reducing time. But you still have to bake it. 😁

      Suzanne, thank you for the kind words! Yes, I have tried the bake function (in my Duo Evo Plus - a precursor to the Pro) and it was able to bake a cake but took WAY too long, like 2 to 2.5 hours to bake a small cake. I'm not sure I'd recommend it but maybe the technology has changed. I don't have the patience to try it lol! Why don't you think about the pro crisp or duo crisp?

    Thanks! So you answered my question I was looking for for some time. You didn't really specify but did cover it. I am an amateur mycology fanatic and have been searching how to set high pressure for sterilizing grain for 2.5 hrs. I feel like I have used every button on this thing a hundred times. I want to sterilize so I always set my pressure cooker to sterilize. WRONG! THE CUSTOM pressure cooker allows me to set the custom time for what ever time I want. I have just been baby sitting it and resting it every half hour till I hit my 2.5 hours. Thanks a lot for detailing the functions of this simple machine. If you are a RUclipsr and want video hits because I have looked trust me. Title a video " Sterilizing grain for mycology insta pot pro" or "sterilizing grain with the insta pot pro growing mushrooms at home" you will get hits like crazy. Thanks again. Have a great day and Thalys for the great video😊

    Super great vid, the wife just got me this for Christmas and I’m super excited to start using it. Will definitely see the other vids you have. Although I am curious and perhaps you may know. As this model is newer and replacing the duo. Would the air fryer lid accessory work on this model. Cannot seem to get an exact answer from the company.

    • @PainttheKitchenRed
      @PainttheKitchenRed  3 года назад +1

      Hi Gabriel, great question. I don’t believe the current design of the air fryer lid accessory is compatible with the pro, because it’s not compatible with the duo Evo plus which was the precursor to this model. There is a model called pro crisp that has an air fryer lid fitted just for this style of Instant Pot. I believe the reason the accessory lid doesn’t fit is because of the design of the handles. The lid would probably topple and not fit securely. Hope that helps.

      @@PainttheKitchenRed thank you very much for your reply, I figured just thought I would ask. Another question if I may, I see many people suggestion pressure cooking broccoli for zero minutes although I do not see it possible in timer, any thoughts?

    • @PainttheKitchenRed
      @PainttheKitchenRed  2 года назад +1

      @@thegenius2OOx - zero minutes is available on some older models. What I do is I set the time for 1 minute and as soon as the display turns from 'On' to '1:00', I press cancel and do a quick release. That's the equivalent of zero minutes. Take care.

    • @PainttheKitchenRed

      Sonia, that error has to do with the pressure sensor, and not easily fixed I'm afraid. Yes, the Duo evo inner pot fits the IP Pro. I do it all the time. Yes, any accessories for the duo evo plus will fit the pro.

    I have the Evo, and I love it. I get the impression that I would absolutely love the Pro as well 👍
    Also, I realize this is a small detail, but I love that it is black. And those fav buttons can truly come in handy.
    Thanks for the nice tutorial.
    Something I have been wondering with the EVO as well as the Pro, and I hope you can help with, is:
    After pressure cooking, when it switches automatically to keep warm mode, does it still count as natural release?
    What I mean is, if I wait 10 minutes in the keep warm mode and let it count... will this be the same as hitting the cancel button and waiting 10 minutes?
    For example: In the white rice recipe I usually use, I set the timer for let's say 6 minutes, and once it beeps that it is done I hit cancel and set a 10 minute timer on my smartphone. Once the 10-minute timer is done, I then do a quick release for the remainder of the steam.
    If I were to not hit cancel, but rather just wait the 10 minutes while the instant pot is on keep warm mode... and only then do a quick release - will that work the same?
    Will that keep warm mode allow for natural release during those 10 minutes? Or is it somehow different because the IP keeps a certain level of heat on the inner pot?
    I mean, now having watched this new reminder feature in the Pro, I get the impression that the keep warm IS indeed allowing for Natural Release.
    Is that true?
    Also this isn't available in my Evo, is it? I'd love to find out I simply missed it somehow 😂

    • @PainttheKitchenRed
      @PainttheKitchenRed  2 года назад +1

      Great question! Yes, I have found no difference between pressing cancel and leaving it on Keep Warm before releasing pressure. And no, unfortunately, the Evo does not have the timer for natural release :(

    • @VanCamelCat
      @VanCamelCat 2 года назад +1

      @@PainttheKitchenRed Thank you, that is great news about the KW allowing for natural release (presumably at the same pace).
      Only after watching many of your other videos, did I realize that the first ever water test video I watched almost a year back, that helped me a lot by the way, was yours. So extra thanks for that 😊
      I'm glad I re-encountered your channel 👍 👍
