Hello Alan Jeffcoat, thank you for contacting Hisense Live Chat Support! How may I assist you today?
    Alan Jeffcoat
    11:34:01 AM
Back on May 25, 2020 I purchased a Hisense Dehumidifier at Lowes (Model DH7019K1G) and found that the drain hose feature is absolutely useless. I contacted Hisense and went through the steps to explain the situation. I was sent a replacement unit a couple weeks ago. The replacement unit performs as poorly as the original unit I purchased. I wish I had know this unit sucks and I wouldn't have wasted my money.
    Stephen
    11:35:54 AM
I am sorry that you are having issues with your unit, I would be more than happy to assist. Please explain in full details the issue with the replacement unit.
    Alan Jeffcoat
    11:38:14 AM
The issue with the replacement unit is exactly the same as the original unit...I have to continually empty the bucket even though I have a drain hose attached to the drain feature. I bought this unit because it supposedly had a drain feature so I don't have to empty the bucket. The instructions simply state to attach a drain hose (garden hose attachment) and make sure the end of the hose is lower than the coupler.
    Alan Jeffcoat
    11:39:30 AM
My previous dehumidifier that I replaced never needed to be emptied because the drain feature worked as described...this unit is poorly designed obviously!
    Stephen
    11:40:13 AM
When the unit is connected by a drain hose it has to be tilted one inch with the section opposite of the garden hose being slightly elevated by a inch.
    Alan Jeffcoat
    11:41:42 AM
Are you kidding me? The unit has to be on an angle in order to drain out of the hose. How asinine is that? Who's the genius that designed this system?
    Stephen
    11:42:43 AM
That is how the unit was made to be operated I do not have that information.
    Alan Jeffcoat
    11:44:49 AM
If that's how the system was designed, Hisense should include that tidbit of information in the instructions. I've never heard of anything so ridiculous in my life. It sounds to me like someone in Hisense's engineering dept. realized the design flaw and came up with this asinine remedy. Needless to say I won't be buying any other Hisense products.
    Stephen
    11:45:35 AM
I do apologize for these inconveniences you have been facing your issues have been documented. Do you have any further questions or issues i could assist with today?
    Alan Jeffcoat
    11:46:46 AM
No...Thanks for being polite while I vent...It's not aimed at you it's aimed at the incompetent designer of this dehumidifier.

I had to put a 1/4 in shim on the other side of the hose side to get it to use the hose without filling the bucket . Bad design. Worked good after that . Something is made wrong . REMEMBER SHIM UNDER THE ROLLERS LEAN THE MACHINE .

He is right. My basement floor was un-levelled and I didn't take that into account. It was a while before I realized between the gravity of water in the hose and the un-levelled floor this was a simple fix.

    • @EdwardOPage
      @EdwardOPage 3 года назад

I finally discovered the solution was to wedge the opposite side from the drainage hose allowing the collected water to drain. Obviously a design concern....

    • @afrtsfan
      @afrtsfan 3 года назад +1

I want to thank you. This worked perfectly. Funny thing though, my floor is level, and I was still getting water in the bucket. I did shim the non-hose side and like magic, no water in the bucket. Thanks so much! Super helpful

How long can this run before dumping water. Is there a draining hose?

      Hi Alicia
This model was sent to me by Hisense as a replacement for another unit that was freezing up less than two (2) years. This model apparently has a draining issue. Like others making comments I also had the same problem whereas the bucket and drain hose allow water to pass at the same time to both bucket and hose. To be certain my draining hose was not causing the problem I attached a very, very short hose leading to a pan directly below the unit in position on a raised stand. True gravity being applied for hose drainage. No change! Contacted Hisense notifying them their replacement unit ship direct from them was failing in this manner. After many email exchanges they have provided an Incident (Case) number and form with instructions to request a replacement.....AGAIN! I have yet to learn of a setup instruction in addition to merely connecting a drain hose if one wishes to not be required to empty the bucket. I am suggesting there must be a design issue. At one point in exchanging emails it was suggested to return the unit to the store if purchased within 30 days. I reminded them this unit was shipped directly from Hisense replacing a failed unit. I am certain Lowe's would not accept the unit. Be prepared for a slow email responses from Customer Service at Hisense. Good luck with making a decision. Hope this will be helpful.
      Best,
      Ed

Thank you Ed!!! The reason why I asked is because I have a home that we frequent 3 4 times a year. Wondering if it would be safe to run in between those times unmonitored. So u wouldn't recommend this model. Correct??

      @@aliciathacker4025
      Hi again, Alicia
The 'Auto' mode seems to be working quite well. I prefer that over the 'Constant', which would seem more energy saving. BUT, unless you find it will use the drain feature without also filling the bucket, I would avoid this model. If room/space temperature is of concern this unit has a very low temp spec, especially helpful when dealing with a cool to cold area. If you purchase one I am certain you will know very soon whether the unit you might purchase will drain properly, as in my situation it was quickly discovered.
Personal note: I have a very dear friend and h.s. classmate who has the same first name. What a lovely gal she is!

    • @EdwardOPage
      @EdwardOPage 3 года назад

@@aliciathacker4025 Would only recommend if wedging the unit on the opposite end from the drainage hose would work reliably. Perhaps by now you have moved on to considering another brand and/or model. I must allow, Customer Service was decent about replacing the unit without having the previously failed units returned.

Edward O. Page I’m on my 2nd unit, first purchased from Hisense and 2nd directly from Hisense. Had I know what I know now I’d have bought a unit from a different manufacturer!
      Thanks for your reply!

Ps. I wonder if everyone who’s purchased this unit has the same issue

Customer service says that by inserting the white hose in securely the and pressing pump, the tank should not fill. Wrong! However I have changed to the garden hose method which is gravity right in to an opening in my interior French drain in the basement. Tank doesn’t fill up in this mode.

BUT----- WHY does it run then quit, then start, then stop, then start, all the while till bucket is full? I have it on manual and basement is wet from the hard rain we have been having.

I bought this Hisense 35-Pint Dehumidifier a couple weeks ago. it is difficult to change the humidity control level. I set it auto which is 50%, but it runs .... when it shows 48%, it is still running. That area temperature is higher.

Anyone notice or have the issue of having their Hisense units taking the humidity down lower than the setting? I bought a 50 pint model in Costco (HT5021KP) cuz, yeah, it’s cheap. It has 3 run settings, two which you can chose the humidity level, and one is an automatic 50% humidity setting. I did the auto and the machine would take my basement’s humidity down to near 40% (I have an independent gauge). So, it’s like 10% off. Took it back, thinking it was defective, and got another. It does the same thing! So no complaints about it actually working well, it works exceedingly well, but it’s not calibrated right. I set it now at 60% and sure enough, my basement is now a desired 50%!!

Hi! I have the 60 pint Hisense with pump. What buttons do I push so I never have to empty out that blasted bucket? Lots of moisture in my big basement with a fieldstone wall that gets wet when it rains. Thanks!

Pump units usually have a button labeled "pump" that you have to press to activate their pumps. Note that you have to connect the pump drainage hose to the dehumidifier before using pump drainage.
