@@homehome4822, appropriate if they now have limited inventory. People who really value it can still buy it versus keeping it low and just totally selling out. They can restock after the demand surge does down and lower prices.
It's not food; this isn't gouging of a necessity in a crisis.
Nor is it bait and switch... That would be if they (not a third party just randomly covering it) advertise a $60 product but then make it impossible to buy that version and push you to buy a more expensive version. Actual examples of this would be US tax filing services spending advertising "free" filing on TV and Internet ads but then making that nearly impossible to find on their websites and tell you you need to pay after you've spent 90 min entering numbers or car companies advertising the price of their introductory model vehicles but then only manufacturing a few hundred for the entire country so dealers (who also advertise the intro price) only carry the upgraded, more expensive models and only disclose this after you've spent time looking around. Simply increasing the price of a product when there is more demand is not bait and switch if they never advertised the price themselves...

You likely won't need it for actual USB in a server-device and this way you don't have to pass a cable from inside your case. Might get one of these. I looked at the PiKVM but it's very expensive especially considering it's powered by a low cost Raspberry Pi. My home server doesn't have a display hooked up so it's kind of a pain when I need to troubleshoot.

If anybody wants a cheaper option for just powering on and off your PC for a desktop (some laptops too?), purchase the kasa smart plugs, and change your PC to power recovery state in the BIOS. After this once you and toggle on and off the smart switch from your phone it essentially acts as a power button. You can get a four pack of these regularly for about 30 bucks.

You mentioned that Tailscale is running on it. Is there a way to put just the SBC on my network for the Taillscale feature, and ignore the KVM/HDMI aspect altogether? I want a tiny Tailscale node on my parents' network to help with remote support. Can I buy the SBC alone without the other stuff? Raspberry Pi and other SBC's that can run Tailscale are not this cheap or small.

Honestly, Wendel's solution seems like something i'd want for home use.
i really REALLY want a 24 port USB-C KVM for enterprise laptops and micro desktops with a 1500w PSU for power delivery and an internal gigabit switch with 10g uplink(though 1G would be fine)
Checkout laptops are my nightmare, they need to be windows, they cant be on the domain, they have to use a shared admin account, which means i have to wipe them before i can send them back out often more than once a semester.
Covid made me hate my job, i spend more time on these 50 checkout laptops than i did managing the 1200 desktops and laptops pre-covid.
I've resorted to finding a few good USB-C dock conected to my 32 port iKVM and using those to image and set them up but it is such a rats nest with all the wires needed.

The $150 is essentially scalper pricing, those are resellers, the official store has not jacked the price up but apparently they may not ship to the US right now according to other comments.
Right now in the UK I could order the lite version for £28.42 and the full version for £56.87 including VAT but not including shipping from their official store.

I'm surprised how many people are willing to give this chinese device, with unknown firmware, a go. Something that can snoop on everything on the screen, send keyboard commands to the PC, and do who knows what on the inside of your network. Seems like a pretty risky RAT. I'd wait until this thing was thoroughly vetted by the security community and have open source firmware available to boot.
