Best 6 mins of my life. Video is direct af to the point. Watched like 3-4 vids and all I've seen is the science behind it but not the practicality. Love the vid.
I am right in the zone for this hot memphis weather in my house. When my house AC is running, especially at night for comfort I am hitting 49%-53% which is comfortable. anything higher than 53% become uncomfortable for sleeping. I have an Acurite meter for upstairs and downstairs!
Thanks for your video and information. It's very helpful. I've had a Frigidaire humidifier for the past 6 years and it's been great. Recommended by my physician. I use to get 40 to 55 level, but now I'm getting 30 on my old humidifier and I thought it was not working properly. I ordered a new one and I'm also getting 30 and it shuts after a few minutes. Can you kindly advice... Thank you.
i live in Northern ireland where humidity level is always 90+% all year . In Summer you sweat like crazy in winter all your walls and windows are wet. Right now outside 92% inside 80%
btw, the Aprilaire d100 removes 100 PINTS of h2O per day......NOT 100 gallons. IF you are in the need of removing 100 gallons per day, you need to move 🙂
The Chart at min 2:35 indicates a goal of 50%, I'm also in Canada, recently completed a major home renovation but never installed the steem humidifier and the new wood staircase cracked, many other poplar wood and white oak floors are expanding/contracting.. I regret not doing this before, today I had installed Aprilair Humidifier 800 LC (by the way LC is low conductive water) which I have no idea what that is. Hopefully this new humidifier helps prevent more wood damage. Also I'm confuse, about dehumidifying, how should I do this? Toronto Canada ! Thanks 👍
Thank you for the video! I have a humidifier hooked up to my HVAC so now that it’s hot July weather I turned it to summer. I have a portable dehumidifier. My in-laws gave me. I'm in the process of installing a humidifier in my central heating/AC system. What is the best thermostat/humidistat to run this system? Do I need a humidistat that measures the outside temp and humidity also so as not to over mosturize my home? What is the best thermostate to control my unit?
In the Texas Panhandle during the summer I have seen 7% humidity. 20-30 % is normal. In the winter the gas heater sucks all of the moisture out of the house. Even with a whole house console humidifier, it is unusual to get into the 30% humidity.
20% to 30% humidity in Texas that is Dry. Send some of that dry air here to Florida I hate high humidity. Why must so many places be so humid. I would like the entire globe humidity no higher than 40% 45% with temperature between 78°F - 83°F all year
In Western Washington where it rains from October to May. The outdoor humidity level is around 90%. My house hover around 50-55%. The wood stove and pellet stove do great job dehumidifing the house.
Everyone has a different comfort level. I have dry skin, so I mine at a little over 50%, in central Ohio where we are most people find comfort around 45% in winter
I have a slightly over 1500 square foot house split level, no basement. My house is humid and smells bad, no matter how I clean it. It's a damp smell so I know I need a dehumidifier. Can I get one to put in the foyer near the bottom of the stairs between the two floors?
What about for those people who need BOTH a Dehumidifier for the Summer AND a Humidifier for the Winter? Are there products that do both humidifying and dehumidifying? Or can a dehumidfiers and humidifiers be installed within the same house? What if you have a 2 story house with 2 different HVAC units? This was a great video, but it didn't address these questions/issues.

Why do various humidity gauges show the green zone between 65-72%? They show 50% in the RED which means too low. My house stays 45-50% humidity in winter.
I am from Bangladesh. Its hot here. I have an AC in my room. The humidity is 60- 90% regularly in Summer. Right now I have 87% humidity in my area (just checked on google). The question is "Should I need to use a Dehumidifier too?" Note that I always stay in my home in my room. Almost 22-24 hours every day. I am a freelance graphics designer, all I do is sleep, work, eat and repeat. Sometimes go out for a walk and a bit of exercise. I hope the information will help you to give me the answer.
Quick question i have a new house in jacksonville florida and the humidity is in 62-70 % when the humidity is in 70% the smart thermostat send a alert for hi humidity, this is normal??

We have recently moved to a new house but now in summer at an average temperature of 45 degree Celsius every wooden door and furniture in our house have gotten cracks joints losses and intense damage is this due to high humidity or low humidity 😢??
I need to install a new central air heating system in my home. I had a heat pump which recently broke down on me. We have a huge high humidity problem in our home. Would we be better off installing a new gas furnace or just buy another new heat pump. We already have a gas fireplace so hooking up to gas in not a problem. Would a gas furnace help our humidity problem? Thank you for any advice you can give me. 🙏
You may need a whole house dehumidifier if the problem is that big. Heat source is. It going to lower humidity more than another. Usually you need to add humidity when heating
Good morning. Question for you.. why did my thermometer jump from 55 -61 over night. I went to bed . Humidity & Temp was good at a 55 percent range. Got up this morning it was at a 61 percent range. Is this normal ?

@@extrememiami 65% is too high. It is in the mold area. It should be between 40 to 60% with 50% being ideal. The chart at 2:40 in this video is a much know and have humidity chart.
The answer is, it depends. From 27 years of home ownership, and living in climate the can be -40 Celsius in the winter to +40 Celsius in the summer. So many factors to consider, how cold is it outside, sun exposure, how many floors, how many people live in the house, how many showers are had, leaky house, well sealed house, how humid is the air outside, how dry is the air outside. Science says at -40 degrees you house should be 15% humidity? Great, and do we know how uncomfortable that is to humans in the winter. How dry your skin is, the nose bleeds, the dry hacking at night because of no moisture. the static shocks when you touch people, the cracked hardwood floors. The answer is, to find a happy medium and stop hunting for perfection. And so on. Issue with the 50% is the good humidity doesn't work in the extreme cold, that's way to high. That's when you get window fog and icing up, locks freezing and a bunch of issues inside your walls and attic.
@@fireiceheatingandaircondit4363 Thanks so much for the great tutorials and your reply. I was considering upgrading my thermo panes. 100 pints per day? will this work in and open commercial space about 9k sq ft
100 lbs , so 100 pints, not gallons. Will work anywhere
How do you keep a whole home humidifier from creating mold inside the HVAC system
Not turning it up too high and regular maintenance
Why is it so hot in my basement when I use a dehumidifier? What is the normal setting? It seems to be blowing hot air, and it's getting very hot .
A dehumidifier dispels some heat, if it’s getting very hot, there may be an issue with it
