Even as a Xflow caterham owner this was very informative. The indicator/warning light switch issue I experienced myself. My favorite switch is the brake test switch which tests if the light that indicates the low brake fluid works.
What I was missing is a slight word of warning: NEVER ever use the shark switch! At least not with the roof down. You'll get spoiled, your car gets spoiled. If your windscreen is dirty stop at a gas station and do it by hand.

As a former owner of a 1966 BMC Mini, it had a (useless) heater control, very much like in this car! It mostly had two positions: On and off!
It is nice to see that British Car Producers have kept to the old standards of making things, mostly useless (T.H.G.to The U: "Mostly Harmless")! I do think to remember that the first of Colin Chapmans original Lotus 7 cars had even a propeller by the radiator - as an extra feature!
It luckily was my only English Car, I must admit (My first, my last and my only)! And my car did had some extremely fine made, "Lucas" Switches, which may be found in a scrapyard on some old English brands, eventually, if any have survived?
At least those functioned fine, also as the shown triple version for the indicators!!! As I used a very small Moto-Lita, leather wheel on my Mini, I couldn't see the indicator light, at the end of the original contact, so I moved it up on my, extra panel with more instruments, as a right or left indicators!

If you want to try a vehicle from the same era as your mini with a truly useless heating and de-misting system I suggest you look at the VW 411 and 412. These were heated with air heat-exchangers wrapped around the exhaust manifolds. The hot air/carbon monoxide from these was conveyed down the sills where any accumulated moisture would be picked up and the air cooled to ensure stone cold, saturated, air was projected up the screen for many, many miles. The petrol heater (complete with timer) that VW fitted in an attempt to overcome this issue resulted in many cases of owners coming out anticipating a pre-heated car to find instead a smouldering wreck. I sold mine for £60 - a sum I would refund to the unfortunate purchaser now to salve my conscience. I last saw the car some weeks later with the driver applying a cloth to the inside of the windscreen in an attempt to see where he was going. Thankfully, and unsurprisingly, he didn't see me.
Sadly, some 20 years later, I found that BMW, in their E34 model had managed to achieve much the same demist performance from a far more conventional arrangement - an engineering master-piece and one, I understand, they carried over into the E39.
The Caterham heater may not be subtle but it's extremely effective as is its heated screen.

The thermostat on my Caterham with a crossflow Kent engine held the temperature at around 80 degrees (I think this is true of other engines, too). It's very easy to swap the thermostat for a 90 degree unit, and not very expensive.
I also retrofitted a heater temperature control with a plumber's isolator valve in the hose to the heater in the engine compartment.

Basically a 90s Rover Mini set of switches, and same wiring of the indicators through the hasard switch. Same heater control cable too 😅

I had a concept idea of mounting a Corvair engine up front and transaxle in back. ;-)

Oh crikey, how did we miss that?! 😱 You're spot on Martin, we appear to have forgotten to mention everything to the right of the steering wheel 😬 (we'll check with the editor in case it was filmed and just forgotten, if that's the case, he's sacked…)

The washer switch is clearly a generic icon from some other use, but does _anyone_ know what it is originally meant to represent? I've had my Caterham for 15 years and never been able to find out.
