    Can we talk about how gorgeous the red color is here? I really, really love it.
    Also, I didn't really mention Touch ID much here and that kind of goes to show how great it is. Works really well and with the current world of masks, I'd say it's better than ever.

    I think the SE is very good for people like me, who want the cheapest iPhone possible from Apple, don't spend too much time on their phone daily, which makes battery life almost irrelevant, people who just text, make phone calls and browse the web every now and then for a few minutes and people who want a phone that nails the basics essentially. And people who want a small phone, unlike the Xr, which is a bit bigger and wider, certainly noticeable.

    • @willr7849
      @willr7849 3 года назад +3

      This is pretty much it, can't have our phones on us at work and I really only use it to text and surf the web at home so a cheap model makes sense, I'm always near a charger, I had the I phone 5 for years which was smaller and obviously not as good as this one, and that was more then enough for me, and I don't really care about impressing people by owning an over priced phone.

    The iPhone SE has been a great option for gifts for my family members. Most of them are on older iphones and the flagships are too pricey. I was able to find the 2020 SE at $199 (Walmart if you're wondering) brand new and gave them to a few family members as gifts to upgrade their aging iphones. I of course always get the latest and greatest iphones but Apple does an amazing job of supporting their old devices, it's a much better gift than a cheap android phone that may not ever get any software updates.

As battery-wise, I don't really do heavy stuff on my phone (Just some social media, listening some music, messaging etc.) so my battery easily lasts 1-2 days. I picked up a used 2020 iPhone SE for $400 Australian (which is about $310 USD) and for that price, the phone has been amazing. It had been used for a few months, but the person selling had received a XS for Christmas, and didn’t want the SE anymore, so that was amazing. It was also in really good condition, just some minor scratches on the screen that aren’t noticeable with a screen protector on. But going from the 2016 iPhone SE, the biggest thing has been the camera. It takes amazing shots, shots that I would consider better than the galaxy s9. Lots of people comment on how good the photos from the phone look, and for the price, I don’t think any camera could match it, smartphone or not. Also thanks for the clarification on night mode not being supported due to the smaller sensor, it makes a lot of sense and makes me feel better about apple not including it. I do believe this phone does take alright night shots compared to phones without night mode, but it doesn’t compare to those that do. The speed has also been nice, and I find iOS 14 less buggy on the newer SE (the older one doesn’t have Taptic, so when holding down on notification icons it doesn’t vibrate to tell you when to stop holding, and Siri doesn’t drain 4% of the battery for every request, but that’s just the on device processing). But overall I would say this phone is a steal at that price, in Australia the phone normally goes for 522 USD, so getting the phone for just over $300 USD is incredible. And I don’t use a case because the red is soo nice. I’m starting to consider getting a red watch band for my Apple Watch...
    Also thank you so much for all your videos, I really enjoy the style, the music, the content, you are one of my favourite youtubers and as long as you are happy with what you are doing, I can’t wait to see what comes next!!!

    I got an iPhone SE 2020. Took it back and got an iPhone 11 for only $200 more. Best choice I ever made. My iPhone SE had a yellow screen, true tone turned off and everything it was still yellow. The phone was also lopsided when laying flat on a table and no it wasn't the camera getting in the way it was in a case. I put my old iPhone 8 in the same case and it was not lopsided. Yeah the iPhone SE is only $399, but the quality control sure shows. Spend $599 only $200 more and get a phone apple cares about with better quality control. If you keep your phones for 2 to 3 years that $200 quickly pays for itself and more. iPhone 11, bigger and better screen, better camera, more internal memory, better sound recording, better speakers. Just a way better phone.

    I have an iPad Pro 9.7” and a Motorola Moto G6 Plus, and I use them a ton. I’m definitely a heavy user, playing the likes of Call of Duty Mobile, Brew Town, Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery, and taking multiple photos, videos, uploading stuff to RUclips on occasion. I used my phone a ton, which has a Snapdragon 630 processor, 1080p display, and it got just below 5 hours and 30 minutes of screen on time at 1%. The fact that the iPhone SE in 2021 ships with a 5W charger and has worse battery life than this with a 720p and efficient chipset, and has a shockingly small battery, makes the iPhone SE an objectively questionable product to purchase. I understand if there are people who without question need an iPhone to continue using the subscription services they enjoy using currently, but for those who are on the fence at the moment, please take a look at Mrwhosetheboss’ iPhone battery drain test video and have a look at the battery life you could experience with medium to high usage. Social media, games, camera usage will give you at best 4 - 4 and half hours of screen on time, which in 2021 should not be acceptable. Please, if you must buy an iPhone, consider better alternatives that give you a much better experience that lasts longer. This is kinda why I appreciate the phones Motorola makes, because even though they sometimes downgrade to 720p displays, the endurance is a serious reason to consider them. We do not need the latest A series processors from Apple to enjoy our digital lives, because smartphones have now transcended the point of having major differences, we all have a fully working smartphone now, please don’t accept the scandalous business practices of Apple by buying an iPhone SE, it’s seriously not worth the money. Buy an iPhone XR or above if you must get an iPhone. Also, my phone gives me the option to have both a fingerprint sensor and face scanner. Touch ID is no longer a ‘generation defining’ feature, Android phones have caught up now with the speeds and generally offer both options for half the price. So please, keep an open mind of you can, and start considering how long you use your phone for. Battery life and features matter.

On the basis of specs sheets, it is not that strong but when using it, it just feels so good using it. It might have LCD display, but the color accuracy and the view it provides, no LCD display phone can beat it. Camera wise; it demolishes iPhone XR in some areas, even if camera hardware of XR is better. And, when pictures are compared to iPhone 11 side by side, people will have difficulty to show which phone took which picture. And let’s not say this phone has some key feature in it which were introduced only with the release of iPhone 11. I’d anyone wants to buy it, I am 100% recommending this phone.

    I had both XR vs SE and owned for about a year each. XR was traded-in is heavier with frequent dropped calls. It does have excellent battery and internet connectivity. SE excellent connectivity calls/internet, light, faster, affordable, touchID, but agree about the small screen and poor battery. There are workarounds with IPad for media consumption and purchased a $40 battery juice pack (doubles weight) nearly tripling battery life that is greater than the 12 Pro Max. I believe the choice is simple, save the money for the more powerful, faster and lighter SE and prefer Touch ID is better for wearing a mask.
