Still rocking a 5s, had to get a new battery and screen a while back but it's still a usable phone for sure. In the very least, it's a sweet iPod touch.
I remember being so ecstatic to have the gold iPhone 5S. It really was the most “forward thinking” phone, as Apple put it, they’ve ever made. The first iPhone with 64 bit architecture, first with biometric security (TouchID), first with a dual tone flash, and a brand new redesigned iOS 7. This was new in every way, and yet it was still an “S” year model.
I think you underestimate how long people hold onto their iPhones these days. I know 2 people that still use a 5s as their daily driver and many people who still have a 6s and 7. They work perfectly fine and completely suit their needs. Not everyone needs, wants or can afford a new iPhone every year or 2.
I love finding uses for old devices like this. Kept it on iOS 10, and now it lives on my desk as a hotspot in case my WiFi dies. (Which it does.. a lot)
I had a 5S, but I got mine in 2014 - a week before the 6 released - sheerly out of necessity, as my 4 died a sudden watery death. I was… not happy. I had a hard time seeing the screen, barely bigger than my prev 4, with my then-degrading eyesight. When I realized I could’ve waited one more week to get a 6 Plus, I was beside myself. Waited 2yrs out of financial necessity and got the 7 Plus. That was my favorite phone to this day
I pre-ordered my iPhone 5s the day it became available, received it among the first to own it, and still using it to this day! It still doesn’t feel obsolete or lacking in any significant way. The battery is definitely not that good, but still satisfactory.
The 5s was my first true cellphone which I got as a Christmas gift in 2014 and I remember being so mental about the Touch ID and the slow motion video feature. Keep in mind I was only 12 years old back then.
I loved my Space Grey 5s for so many years. In my opinion the best iPhone ever made. In May 2019 I bought the Xr and two weeks after that my 5s died forever. Black screen, no vibration, no charging. Before the akku was thick, charging port destroyed and my display dirty unter the screen. I fixed all and then it died so sad...
Bought a gold one for ULTRA cheap off eBay and its in immaculate condition 🥳 the only thing thing wrong with it is the bad battery life which can slow it down at times 🙁 other then that it ideas everything I want. P.S. I bought it because my old iPhone 5 broke and I was using in iPhone 4
I remember getting the 5S December 2013 my freshman year of university, this phone brings back a lot of fond memories. I loved the phone and really liked TouchID
Back when this was release on 2013 I was jealous because almost all of my friends at that time had the 5s. Meanwhile, back on 2013 I was using the 3gs. I was amazed by the picture quality, video quality and don't get me started the slo-mo(it made me cry with my 3gs back then hahaha).
My dad gave me a 5s for birthday on 2014, and I still kinda using, I use as my Bedroom companion, I watch videos, watch ASMR to fall asleep, use to search something while I’m playing video games or just to hear music. I have a basic 16gb space gray, and it still holding well, only YT that is kinda laggy on animations if you are watching 1080p
Still using since Jan 2014 Now planning to buy iphone 12 ... just because recently it started showing heating issues while using whatsapp and calls.. i wont use much internet 5 is still my all time fav

@@Alex-yj9xlthe iphone x was the first major innovation since 2014 whereas android innovates basically every year with multiple phones and people are willing to pay another 1000 dollars just to get a very minor upgrade? apple hasn't innovated in 4 years wtf if it doesn't make sense ur brainwashed sorry
Still using iPhone 5s, bought it at launch, got me through high school and collage, not a single scratch on the screen)
i bought one for €50 last year, i wanted one just for the sake of making a collection, but i found myself using it a lot due to it being decently fast. the battery life is terrible though.
Does it drain fast?
@@حضرمون you can get a bit more than half a day with moderate use
okay okay, but no ones gonna mention that shot at 1:48 ? thats gorgeous
I held my 5s the same way
I can tell you this is one reason this phone was loved so much
Looks so aesthetic and clean and the shot here is also so pretty
Watching this on the 5s, pulling it from the storage after 3 years, fortunately the battery is still alive. Charge it for 3 hours and well, still good to go. That's Apple quality level.
I loved that Sonic game on the Sega Genesis 🥰🙌🏾
The 3 Main Sonic games on the Genesis are pure bliss.
I still have mine. I have two lines so I use the 13 Pro Max for my main line but I use my 5s as my second line and I love it! The best Apple design ever
Still use my 5S as a music player when I’m exercising, still a great phone
My iphone 5s has a bad battery
@@sawyersmith96 same but it lasts pretty long when it’s just playing music so it’s perfect for my 1-2 hours exercising regime
I got my iPhone 5s in 2017 and I used it up until early 2020 before I upgraded to an iPhone X
I never use my camera! I have iPhone 12 Pro Max! I never take pictures!
This was my first phone in 6th grade . Now i’m 18 with a IPhone 14 Plus . How time flys 😢
😁😁👏
I have one with a cracked screen but I’m going to fix it and use it as my music machine
I still have it. I love it and not thinking on changing it any time soon.
Same, I’d rather use this over most new phones! It’s insane to think how old this phone is because it’s still perfectly modern!
Favorite design of all time
My first iPhone was the 5S I got it on June 2014 used it for 6 months and upgraded to the 6
How did he know i needed This!!!
I think you underestimate how long people hold onto their iPhones these days. I know 2 people that still use a 5s as their daily driver and many people who still have a 6s and 7. They work perfectly fine and completely suit their needs. Not everyone needs, wants or can afford a new iPhone every year or 2.
I use a 5s on the daily to watch RUclips, listen to music, etc
How well does it work
I love finding uses for old devices like this. Kept it on iOS 10, and now it lives on my desk as a hotspot in case my WiFi dies. (Which it does.. a lot)
Man... I remember watching you years ago in the bathroom
Wtf
I had a 5S, but I got mine in 2014 - a week before the 6 released - sheerly out of necessity, as my 4 died a sudden watery death. I was… not happy. I had a hard time seeing the screen, barely bigger than my prev 4, with my then-degrading eyesight. When I realized I could’ve waited one more week to get a 6 Plus, I was beside myself. Waited 2yrs out of financial necessity and got the 7 Plus. That was my favorite phone to this day
I liked the design of the 5c
I pre-ordered my iPhone 5s the day it became available, received it among the first to own it, and still using it to this day! It still doesn’t feel obsolete or lacking in any significant way. The battery is definitely not that good, but still satisfactory.
It’s funny how now everyone wants a small phone.
I wanted also a small iphone because the others are uncomfortable big for me
I’d still buy this phone even in 2022, one of my fav iphone design EVER.
buy the iphone se then
@@chipdolittlehelperman i did
just curious will you be reviewing the new ipad pro sometime in the future?
My perfect travel backup. Batteries $5.50. Fave phone.
It still getting updates so ig it’s pretty good
No more only 6s upwards will get update although I switched from 6 to 12 pro still I like 6 design 👍
Lakshay 2793 update also mean 12.5.x
@@joshlim9489 yeah
@@joshlim9489 u have maybe have iOS 6s am I right ?
Lakshay 2793 yeah ofc I got better ones 12.5.x is little older now
The 5s was my first true cellphone which I got as a Christmas gift in 2014 and I remember being so mental about the Touch ID and the slow motion video feature. Keep in mind I was only 12 years old back then.
omg did u attend the Legendary "Battle of Josh" ?? 😳😳😳
I fought in the battle and I am not even JOSHH
I loved my Space Grey 5s for so many years. In my opinion the best iPhone ever made. In May 2019 I bought the Xr and two weeks after that my 5s died forever. Black screen, no vibration, no charging. Before the akku was thick, charging port destroyed and my display dirty unter the screen. I fixed all and then it died so sad...
"Upgrading to a newer iphone"
*Samsung fans have left the chat*
What about dual-device guys? Xiaomi fans? OnePlus?
Lol
Silver iPhone 5S was my first iPhone after having only iPod touches ❤
If you think the 5s is old, this comment was typed on an iPhone 4
yeah, i still have one of those, and i've been running a stopwatch since 2019 on it. It is over 10,000 hours.
Sometimes it glitches and dies or something like that, and i have a mini heart attack 😂
i still use my iphone 5s today. i use it for about 8 years now - that's crazy! :) i'm running it on ios 10.3.3 so the battery is still fine!
Notification squad! :)
I used my old iPhone 5s which i had to repair.. for a few days recently whilst I was between phones and it was just fine
This phone for me is one of the most beautiful devices ever. I had one and i loved it
I still use iPhone 5S until now. I bought it in 2014 and still use it now. 😊
Still using since Jan 2014
Now planning to buy iphone 12 ... just because recently it started showing heating issues while using whatsapp and calls.. i wont use much internet
5 is still my all time fav
