- With iOS 15 and the continued support of the iPhone 6S, it will officially be the most supported phone of all time- from late 2015 with iOS 9 to (at least) late 2022 with iOS 15 making a full 7 years.

The iPhone 6S will officially be receiving 7 total years of full software support, by and far the most of any smartphone ever.
2015-16: iOS 9, 2016-17: iOS 10, 2017-18: iOS 11, 2018-19: iOS 12, 2019-20: iOS 13, 2020-21: iOS 14, and now, 2021-22: iOS 15.
It’s trying to compete with the iPhone 5s for the best iPhone ever
@@miamidadetransit9918 While the 6S is going to likely end up near the top of my list for best iPhones of all time, I do think the 5S beats it out. The 6S was great but brought a lot of improvements that probably should've happened with the 6; the 5S brought Touch ID and was the first 64-bit smartphone in the world.
That being said, both are great phones and Apple has been killing it since the whole 4S on iOS 9 debacle.
There are probably kids who are as old (if not a little younger or older) as the 6 or 6S/SE who have one of them as their first smartphone
@@91Tech iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4 also support iPadOS 15.
Yeah you hit the nail right on the head they’re willing to support older phones because forced obsolescence isn’t relevant anymore because services are kind of making up the money gap. They figure well let’s give them a new version of the iOS that way they don’t switch to android Where we don’t get a hardware sale and we don’t get the services sales anymore. In a way it’s pure brilliance keeping people happy.
It's no coincidence that "6S" sounds like "success"
Yes it is, or a word play.
good pun
actually yes, most of the people except from usa got to know about apple, after huge success of iphone 6/6plus and iphone 6s/6s plus
so i am not surprised that apple is repaying that by making those users feel satisfied for their choice
Yes indeed pun intended

You might consider upgrading now that it is official that iPhone 6s will not be getting iOS 16. But still that is really great that it lasted so long I mean I wasn’t surprised that it wasn’t going to get iOS 16. I didn’t even think that it would get iOS 15.

You may not be an apple customer now. But you will, eventually
I’m pretty sure it won’t be getting iOS 16, though. So you’ll have to upgrade sooner or later. It’s days are numbered.
I’m using a 6s I got for free to set it up for my uncle right now. It’s on 15.0.1 and running smooth as butter! Pretty impressive. I like how it feels in my hand it’s just smooth and contoured and a comfortable break from my 12 pro max . Now obviously battery life is trash but this thing is very old in phone years 😂
Using iOS 15 on my SE, I can see why Apple still supports it. It’s not really any slower than iOS 14 was.
How iOS 15 isn’t even out yet we’re still stuck on 14.6 😂
@@MoroccoOnTop the developer beta
Yep
The only major difference iOS 15 makes is the few FaceTime/iMessage enhancements and watching stuff together (SharePlay). It would've been illogical for them to not bring it to as many devices as they possibly could considering this year's update is mostly based on helping people connect better and that wouldn't work if everyone wasn't running the same update.

this is why i love the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and SE 1st Gen so much they amaze me with still having a headphone jack and still getting software support gotta love the power of the A9 chipset!
I still use the iPhone 6s, not willingly, but out of necessity. I bought this phone in 2016 I think Around 2018, I wanted to upgrade, but I'm broke. Past 5 years have been absolutely horrible, I hope to not be broke soon. But even when I don't use the iPhone 6s anymore, i'll still be grateful for this phone. It has always kept up, always updated to the latest OS, the apps have worked fine for the most part. Things are frustrating now, some apps take a long time to load, but eventually, they load and work. If I take a video on an iphone 6s and share it, it doesn't look horrible and old, it looks fine. Only thing that sucks is the battery life, but I generally keep a power bank with me in case I need it.
Thank You Apple for making this product, it's the only thing that didn't make me feel left behind in my struggles
I hope it gets better brother. Hold on🙏💪
You tried replace the battery?
since the battery is in degraded mode, if you replace the battery, it will behave like new.
instead of looking for upgrade, i think your iPhone deserves that new battery, coincide with iOS 15.
Good luck and hope things get better for all of us!
Bro just buy a 200€ android phone that's like 100x better than that iPhone 6s lmao. I don't get y'all iPhone users. Y'all would rather use iPhone 4 than upgrade to a brand new android phone like what's wrong with y'all
@@r3dpl4x99 Used to be an android user. Most phones running android do not last past a couple years. If they made a long-lasting phone, that gets updates regularly, I would consider it. But overall, apple products just last way longer, and integrate with each other well, and tbh I haven't had any major reason to upgrade my 6s yet, at least not ones that are worth dropping 200-300 bucks for.

I bought the galaxy s7 at launch while my brother bought the 6s plus. The s7 looked better on paper with twice the ram, better resolution, bigger battery and sd card support but 2 years later, the 6s plus was still going strong while the s7 lags and drains battery for no apparent reason even after a factory reset. Forget major software updates too. I bought the Xr and never looked back.
See thats the point, Apple tend to squeeze more of those inferior specs than android, Just look at the recent android phones, all of those phones either have 8-16 GB of RAMS, Cooled Powerful SOCs, Bigger batteries and yet they only get 2-3 years of major software support (Dont include security updates)

This is the value that Apple brings. Android phones may have more features at launch, but they barely get two-three years of updates and they lose most of their value within a year or two of release. Apple phones can go the distance and hold their value on resale. Hence, the increased upfront cost isn't as bad as people think it is
The 6S was a next level beast in performance when it was released. In hindsight it isn't a huge surprise that it can run iOS 15 just fine.
It’s kind of like the 3rd gen intel CPUs and windows 10/11. They’re still perfectly usable but apple/Microsoft is still going to cut them off.

I have high hopes that the 7 and 7 Plus will be supported even longer
I honestly doubt it. The 7 and 7 plus seem to have quite a few performance issues now a days, with the A10 being a processor that runs pretty hot. I’d guess the 7 dies with the 6s. 7 Plus is a more capable phone, but I doubt they’ll cut a support cycle for half a generation and keep it for the larger phone

That's why I prefer iPhones over Android phones... (if Pixels get this much support, I would buy one) :)
Yeah, I heard pixels get only 3 years of software support. This is why I get really frustrated when I hear android fans accusing Apple of planned obsolescence.
And I remember when the iPhone Xs came out, during the iPhone Keynote Lisa, who is Apple’s environmental care head, said that they plan on supporting devices for longer and making iOS more snappy every year so that more people can retain their iPhones and hence improve the environment. And soon after when I went to the environmental section on their website, there was also a page that asked iPhone owners to give their old phone to friends or relatives instead of shelving it. Which company would ever say that? That could take away a potential customer but they aren’t worried about that.
@@almuel yeah honestly apple is really good when it comes to updates although I use a pixel because android support doesn't matter even close to as much as IOS support. On IOS you can't even get most apps unless you have one of the newest versions of iOS whereas on Android you can download pretty much anything and you can add features to your phone with apps whereas IOS is completely locked you can also download custom software to most android phones to get new updates for as long as apple supports their phones

I've got an iPad Pro 11" 2018 which I bought new on launch day and it's nearly 3 years old but there hasn't been any real improvements to the iPad Pro apart from an extra Cameras and the M1 Chip along with iPadOS so there's no reason for me to upgrade. Happy user of 6s plus here :). Loving touch id, bigger size and overall performance. So much so, I've replaced the battery to extend my phone's life. I think 91Tech hit the nail on the head by saying that customers happy with their previous experiences are more likely to buy their next device from Apple. It might be even more important than being "locked" into Apple's ecosystem.
You forgot to mention even though iPhone 5s and 6 didn’t get iOS 13 they still get security updates so apple isn’t purposefully not updating them to iOS 13 it’s just that they can’t run iOS 13
Hell even the original 5 still gets security updates
@@rac1equalsbestgame853 wait what!?
So basically only fully unsupported devices are A5 and under (iPhone 4s and under)
Damn….
True maan .... I"m still using a 5s
The 6 COULD run 15 if u hacked it, but it would be slow as heck, i know that ios 15 at least needs an a8 because the ipad mini 4 got ios 15 and has an a8...
still rocking it lmao, love it
this video was actually epic.......
Best thing about 6S is 3D Touch ❤️ 6S was my first iPhone 🙌🏻
I'm really happy abt this even though I recently upgraded to the 12 from the 7 plus. Its great to know my old phone would probaby still be supported for awhile to come, and I noticed the maintained quality even as I was switching over to my 12 (I was so content that the only reason I switched was because it was a gift). Its also nice that my fam invested their money into a phone that I can comfortably keep for another 5 + years to come since I like holding onto things lol.
This make me wanna watch ip6s unboxing!
Phones are geting better
