SE: Standard Edition, its legit just a standard iPhone

I think an iPhone SE using the iPhone 8 Plus design would help solve the phones inherent limitations - better battery life, bigger screen, dual cameras, no major manufacturing changes needed by apple.

I'm not a gamer or a heavy user. I wanted SE 3 for the small size and the A15 chip. A compact, slim, budget friendly, powerful phone that fits nicely in one hand and doesn't bother you when u put it in your pockets. Love this phone.

I just got an 2022 SE, I had an iPhone 8 and I am thrilled with the SE.

I think what they should’ve done is use the XR body, use Touch ID on the power button. Remove Face ID and then A15. You’re getting the updated design language but with cut down features.

Probably one of the most balanced reviews I've seen. Marques definitely realises the target market for this.

I've been using the iPhone SE 2020 for a little less than a year now, and I gotta say, I've been impressed. Although the phone is not the most eye catching or maybe fun to use as a flagship iPhone, it really gets the job done. Really wouldn't be opposed to buying the 2022 edition when this one runs it's course. Cheers Apple!

Everything people complain about with the SE (other than battery life) are total positives for me. I like the single shallow camera. I like the efficient, rectangular display. And I love the home button. The only reason I got a 13 mini was the fact that it’s physically smaller (could still stand to be even smaller, though), the square-edge body design, and the better battery life. Otherwise I prefer everything about the SE. I hope Apple continues not destroying the wonderful simplicity of something that works perfectly and just keeps dropping newer chips in it.

Honestly glad they keep coming out with these. My 82yo grandmother could never learn to use anything more advanced in design than this.

I've been using the old iPhone SE since 2018 and it still works great and actually fits in my hand, unlike the massive brick-sized phones nowadays.

I think you missing the point, people who buy this phone just want to keep the old feel of the phone, most don't care about taking pictures with it as much they don't care for screen size and they don't care about playing top graphics games they just want to use it for what it is a phone

I had an SE (2016) until recent, loved it, I went and tried the newer SE in store.. ended up spending the extra coin and going with the mini as it felt miles ahead and thats coming from someone who always stands by the budget phones. The mini form factor seems like such a more natural successor to that original SE. Seeing this be quite similar form to the last SE to me makes it seem further behind the pack

Actually the “S” stands for “Senior Edition”. All grandparents love the Touch Button! 😊

9 years ago this phone would be considered massive in size

I had the se 2020. I don’t any longer but not because I didn’t like it. I really think it does everything most people need-except for maybe having a longer lasting battery. I think it takes great pics and video, all that most people need, and you can learn to live with the smaller screen. The resolution differences to me are barely noticeable. I also prefer the more rounded sleek design (not larger bezel) compared with the more squared off 12 and 13. The best small phone is still the mini but the differences may not matter to many people.

I have a 2020 SE, and it’s seriously the only Apple purchase which I don’t regret.

Simple Edition is spot on. The biggest feature I want is size, the smaller the better, and after that, longevity. For a tool that is for texting friends, and the occasional email or that app you need to get around a convention, or to show your tickets at the gate of a concert, this is it. I don't use the camera, I don't use it for games, simple is what I want and I like that I can count on the SE iPhone every time.

I’m here for you, iPhone SE! To be honest, I love the design. It’s sleek and slim with rounded edges that feel more premium in the hand to me than the blocky flagship phones. Just because a design has been around for a few years doesn’t mean it’s so inferior. It’s not worth hundreds to avoid a little bezel, and I like the straight screen edges without the cut out thing going on at the top. Touch ID is the best authenticator. I don’t want my iPhone to unlock every time I glance at the clock. On the main iPhones, the Face ID infrared light sensors flash you constantly even when you’re not unlocking your phone. Even though it’s widely understood that this is safe and private, it just seems creepy and unnecessary to have that low level radiation constantly. The camera is miles better than my current phone and all I would need.

Hey, Marques! Every time I'm watching your review about any gadget, why do I feel like I want to have it regardless of the pros and cons?
