    I would like to mention Lerdzila. Man could lean backwards out of the way of an attack and circle around the opponent simultaneously. His evasion skills are insane.

    I have a video request :) Could you make a video on different stances but putting the emphasis on the angle of one's hips toward the opponent. I'll elaborate. when I box, thai box, wrestle, my tendency- by choice- is to have a standard guard and stance, but to have my hips facing the opponent squarely. This provides me with a more even distribution of power(for hands) and quicker rear leg kicks- front/push kick is more snappy and has more power, and low/middle /highs have less power, but are faster and harder to see coming as the distance of the rotation is smaller. The main disadvantage is that sometimes i get caught with a pounch or frontkick down my center line, which basically often = KO.And There is also takedown/td defense aspect. The second but related part is the angle of the feet. Some ppl have foot 1 at +- 1:30 and foot 2 at 3 o'clock. others have 1st foot straight forward and second at 1-2 o'clock. So if you could compare the adv disadvantages of different angles of feet when in standard stance...

    Jorge paez had his own way of making guys miss (x y axis coming in) and making them pay. Leonard leaned back from hooks (z axis) in 2nd half of hagler fight and made hagler look like an amateur. Nunn and kalambay in the 90's were great at leaning back matrix style, with kalambay vs nunn not ending anywhere near what i had anticipated. When kevin rooney worked with pazienza for the 3rd haugen fight, he had paz moving his head beautifully, then paz dumped rooney and resorted back to charging in face first like before.

    Shane, some guy tried to tell me that a big guy with small hands won't have knock-out power. I find this hard to believe. I mean, if 2 guys who are 250 lbs hit you with all their might, one of them having big hands and one having small hands, that's still 250 lbs of force coming at your face, no matter what. I can't imagine the guy with smaller hands would magically have less force even though he has the same weight behind his punch. But what would you have to aay about that?

    • @fighttips
      @fighttips  3 года назад +3

      I agree with you. Smaller hands may be more susceptible to breaks or injuries, but not less knockout power.

    I need some advice. When I am dodging a punch and leaning back (z axis), my body takes a hit because it's over exposed. Should I drop my hands to protect my body and trust in my head movement or should I back out of striking range entirely and lose the distance?

    • @JointyDriver
      @JointyDriver 3 года назад +1

      shoulder role. keeping your lead hand lower and the back hand up. At the end it seems you get counter by your opponent and you might be to predictable. You could fight with you upper body leaning forward to mix it up so when you move your upper body backwards you are in neutral position.

    • @marricksinon2057
      @marricksinon2057 3 года назад +2

      Don't lean back. If your opponent feints a jab and you pull back and then he jabs, you're getting hit. Don't do it unless you have godlike reflexes

    • @UNotSlick_
      @UNotSlick_ 3 года назад +1

      well always take a step back if possible, u can always take a step back forward, some hits are inevitable, you should always trust your head movement especially if you do it well, just stay confident but vigilante. dont drop your hands unless you are out of range from being hit or comfortable u wont get hit. even with a forward stance like canelo alvarez you can drop your shoulder and roll. as a professional like him he doesnt drop his hands very often at all. edit- if u lean back canelo does so too, dont just sit there after leaning back thats when the head movement comes into play side to side or to duck back forward and counter. i keep mentioning him because if you watch some of his fights you might be able to get what i mean
