Yes, I can only imagine, a government that supports the oppressed. It took them a while to get here, but better late then never. The issue has been misunderstood, either on purpose or by ideology. Based on their own rhetoric, groups running Palestine are not fighting for recognition but for the destruction of Israel, and they have been very open and very loud about that. Recognition must be accompanied by long term and observable change in rhetoric and behavior on the part of Hamas or whoever in the future runs those areas called Palestinian, and unless that happens the conflict will continue. These European nations don't seem willing to understand that, whereas Israel does. The long-term record shows that Israel has responded to attacks but has not instigated conflict, and it also shows that they have carefully minimized civilian casualties while Hamas has done everything to maximize them. The world also has not been well informed that Israel has sent a considerable amount of food and aid into Gaza even during this present round of fighting. I'm telling you the truth even though you may not want to hear this.
I don't disbelieve you and while Ireland is neither critical towards Israel they perfare to choose a path of peace along with Norway and Spain. Our country knows all too well as a free state "experts by our own experience hold up it's beliefs to just that, saying"

We always identified it, but Palestine was occupied by Hamas. The people of that country liked radicalism and terrorism. Previously, Jordan occupied it, and then Pakistan's President Zia-ul-Haq sent his army and killed 20,000 Palestinians to save them. Be careful with them, and do not let them into your country.

The Palestinians have been offered a two state solution at least 5-6 times in my lifetime and they've turned down every one. Including one in which instead of a 50-50 land split, Israel offered an 80-20 split giving Palestinians the bigger part in trade for peace..Turned down. And Cory Booker was in Israel working on a two state solution with israel and the Saudis when Hamas attacked to stop the deal!

The problem with this is that the Palestinians have been offered their own nation multiple times if they would only acknowledge Israel's right to exist and promise not to attack Israel. The Palestinians turned down all these offers. What Norway, Ireland and Spain are saying is that they're OK with the Palestinians attacking Israel and don't think that Israel has a right to exist. So basically, the governments of Norway, Ireland and Spain are coming out of the closet and admitting that they're anti-Semitic governments.
