Jass Performance Sports knob here. Had it on my NA, sold that earlier this year and swapped it right over to my NC2 on the drive home! Love the weighty feel and design, perfect in my view.
I went with a Tomei as well! I love the feel of it, and living in Florida, I appreciate that it doesn't get hot. Even sitting in full sun for 8 hours a day while I'm at work!
IL Motorsport round shift knob, the satin finish exactly matches the rest of the trim. It sits a little lower in the gaiter, feels great in my hand and is really heavy so makes the shifts feel really positive. Can be a bit cold at first but it warms up nicely.
I went with the Raceseng Sphereology on my NC. Round like the ND, plenty of heft at 470 grams and made of Delrin on the outside like the Tomei so no hot/cold issues
I'm a new NC owner and I'm loving the content. I love my Miata and I love coffee!... "Watch more F1" made me smile. I'm one of the lead video editors on Sky Sports/ESPN's F1 coverage..
I got the chrome/leather knob from Moss and love it. I actually made the mod years ago - replaced it with the exact same thing because I was changing out and refreshing a few other interior items.
Mishimoto makes a pistol grip one that I enjoy greatly but is only like 200 grams. My everyday is now craven speed. It’s the same weight as stock ND but sites about a cm lower. It’s metal on the inside, plastic on the outside so there is no issues with heat/cold.
I got billetworkz and wearelikewise and switch between the 2 occasionally. while you're changing the shiftknob, you might as get a really nice shift boot as well
Nothing beats the feel of a wooden shift knob. They take a little while to break in as the oil from your hand seasons the wood. After that, it feels like a part of you. Metal/plastic shifters while having a comfortable shape and weight, can't match the feel of genuine wood.
@@lucianolucidi8624 Yes I have one on my ‘09 NC and love it. It sits slightly lower than the stock knob, has some nice weight to help it feel positive when changing and the materials combination they used makes it durable without being too hot or cold. It looks really good too👍
I have two Likewise shift knobs. the first looks like your Tomei one but its brushed aluminum with ridges. I believe its called the Daytona Pro. The one I had on the car when it was totalled was the Nad Pro, also from likewise. Great shift knobs, but damn I miss that car...
what size is the nc miata shifter because i have a brz and i looked it up and it said my car has the same as the nc miata so i let my friend borrow my stock brz shift knob but when he put it on , the thread was too wide and the knob just slipped right down the shifter shaft
where did you get the line drawing of the miata at 14:05? curious if they do other cars. being a convertible, I would stay w/a leather wrapped knob as a metal one (aluminum/SS/Ti) would get smoken hot after 5 minutes in the sun w/the top down... Billetworkz hybrid knob is nice but is aluminum outside w/a SS center....

Cravenspeed make excellent shift knobs
I have an mx5 nd rf. I was checking for the cravenspeed. Have you tried it?

That looks cool. Are you actually selling the ND knob? I would like to try it on my 06.
I personally want something heavier than the NC2's knob. How much are you selling the ND's for? [I'm pretty sure it is sold by now]
looks great but how does it feel when shifting? that's the true test
So far the shifts feel great! Less weight, but great overall feel.
Where did you find the ND shift knob i need a new knob
It was purchased on eBay a few years back! I'm sure they can still be found on eBay or for sale in your local Miata group.
I got the same shift knob but doesn’t fit my car
Same for me i don't understand why
The thread pattern for all mx5 is m10 x 1.25mm, you might have gotten the wrong one
Same doesn't fit mine either, thread size is correct but it's too deep into the knob to engage
Carbon Fiber or bust
My god that was boring!
