Just found your channel. Fellow Canadian into off road motorcycling and 3D printing. Just starting a Campervan build and I wanted to thank you for all your great content!
I have looked at countless videos to get some ideas on what would work for me before I begin my project. Very cool and interesting concept and how you managed to build your unit. Thanks for sharing
Still Binging and watching some twice and more. Your humor is starting to flow and it is refreshing to see you reach for that brass ring. Looking forward to see how you plot your travels on a map and decide where you will be off to next. P.S. My back hurts just watching all the additions. Reminds me of myself 20 years ago. Nothing is impossible.
Awesome build for sure. I have been working on my own rig for almost two years and can't believe I have not run across you guys yet. Will definitely be going through your build videos. Thank you for posting.
Fabulous videos and engineering achievement, with really great down to earth friendly on camera presentation... no BS here... other youtubers could take note. Looking forward to watching many more from your channel.

Watched a lot of video on RVs, Van conversions etc, this vehicle is VERY impressive, have to imagine some of it is somewhat expensive Lithium Batteries for example) but seeing how a LOT of the work was done by you. JUST WOW! (can't wait to watch more)
Lithium cells are 250 a piece... but they last for 3000 cycles as compared to 300 -500 for lead acid, so it's cheaper in the long run. Thanks for the kind words.
Saw your video on Tiny Home Tours Channel-awesome truck. I'm (still) trying to finish a 1985 U.S. Army CUC-V (1 1/4 ton) GMC build. After sinking several thousand into it, I realize I have a long way to go. So many possibilities I wasnt aware of until I found your channel. Very motivating, thank you.
Hi guys, one of my first comments on RUclips to tell you are my HEROES. Your build is more than inspiring, RV/Overlanding companies should be learning from you. The level of automation/analysis detail and practicality is jawdroping. 1. How do you feel about a 'cooler' type fridge? Is it annoying to have to look for something thats in the botto? Would you consider having a standing fridge where you have the storage. 2. How long can you go off grid? Whats the first thing to go, water? 3. The shower you are planning, would you consider making it in the nature head corner? You could make the toilet hide in the side with slideouts and the shower space could be hanging storage that you tilt out when you need to use the space. 4. For the cabin wouldnt you prefer another screen for the vehicle sensors (Turbo oil etc) something like a Motec dash control. Again, you are amazing, please continue to share your videos and ideas.
Wow!! Thanks! Comments like yours really make my eyes pop out of my face! And so many have used the word "Hero" lately. It blows my mind - Heartwarming! 1. A top opening, chest cooler/fridge/freezer will always be much more efficient. This is because the cold air is more dense, it wants to sink to the lowest spot. In a chest style cooler, this cold is contained when the lid is opened. In a standing side opening Fridge, All your precious cold air all falls out the side when the door is opened. Getting to the bottom is not too hard with the removable baskets. This of course has drawbacks for accessibility, (you must enter from the top) which I tried to address with that sliding box. 2. Weeks! The stainless kegs can be connected in series for longer periods away. We have 2 or 3 kegs normally, but have room for up to 8. (20L each) This would last us about 14 days. Another reason we like these kegs is that they can be removed and carried to be refilled at non-RV spots. We've topped up at small town diners, public water fountains, etc... For much longer trips we will have one keg dedicated as "dirty water" collected from lakes and streams and then we can treat it and then pressurize it and push it through a filter system and into our main kegs. If the water is from a pretty clear stream, we just heat it up and shower without treating too... 3. We considered it, but no... The aluminum entryway pan was welded to collect the water and so if we need to shower indoors (ie, below freezing) it'll be there. Another reason is height, The roof is only 2cm taller than me (Jason) So the entryway will have more room to wave your arms, washing hair etc. The curtain will wrap 360º around you and the rod will be modular so it can also attach on the outside of the truck (near the utility door) to have a curtained outdoor shower area too. But most of the time we are a long way from the next human anyway, so we really enjoy the outdoor shower... 4. Not Really... I have a bluetooth OBDII reader that I use with Torque Pro on my phone when troubleshooting or when I need more data than my physical gages provide. I could also just toggle this onto my overhead screen, but haven't had the need yet.
Everlanders how did you find the kegs you use for water? I’m going to working on a build myself using an ambulance body. Really want to use the same system you have going on. It’s a great idea.
you got it all brother, so many people are jealous of you right now. you got a bad ass Expedition vehicle and a very beautiful wife, what more can a man ask for. great video!!
Your construction techniques are very professional and well thought out. If possible posting links to vendors and/or model #s of the components you used would be fantastic. Really enjoy this channel!
I've tried to do that in the original install video of each item, yet people still ask... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Is there something specific you were looking at? I can't really list them all now.
The shower pan is also the entryway/aluminum step box. I made them... No model number... ruclips.net/video/mIrPho5Diac/видео.html shown breifly at 2:45 The Cooktop is made by True Induction model TI-1B
One of the best {by far} Self build Overlander Rigs on RUclips ! You have managed to design and Build a Large enough comfort wise living space yet not too large to hinder your Deep Back Country OffRoad abilities. I appreciate that you built your rig for you and your tastes and needs rather than for the style and impact that some people seek through affirmation. If your rig was any larger it would hinder your offroad capabilities and if your rig was any smaller you would loose your comfort levels significantly ...IMHO... I would do things differently but this is what is great about our lives in that we can be individuals but still respect and admire others who seek an Experience driven life rather than a mundane and couch potato existence. Again...IMHO ... kudos to you both, and I hope that maybe in the near future our paths might cross so we can compare and share...until then Good Luck and Enjoy the Show this Universe has in store for us all !!!

Very wise decision going with the 7.3. If you would have gone with the 6.0 or especially the 6.4, the only outdoors you would be enjoying would be on the side of the road 😊 Sweet rig! Cool video.

Love the series. Love that you're local. Love that you're doing it sensible and not dumping 495,000 usd on a overlander with granite countertops ( really?) WTF? Curious as to your back ground. You clearly have the tech background with the knowledge of electronics and computers. And the practical mechanics of twisting nuts and bolts. Personal, I know, so I understand if you'd rather not. Still, very impressed. Keep the travel videos coming. Makes us miss camping.
Thanks for the kind words, my background is a tough question to answer, especially in the comment section. May have to do a 100K sub video on the topic...
Such an awesome rig! I would have preferred a bigger fridge with all the space you have next to the counter area. But, then again that would be a bigger energy hog.
Thanks for your video work and glad you can enjoy the ventures. ... I am getting my neat old 90 17' motor home going and looking to go with a LifePO4 battery set up for the rv section.. I am not doing a grand capacities as you guys have but I see 100 Amphr too will be too little (I have a 90 am hr agm, doesn't last super long) so thinking of going with 200- 300. Charge with solar as one option but thinking of building it as a kit or something... or maybe just buy already made... but curious what basic components and quality to look at that will make me up and ready to use... i.e. do I have to have a special controller or do I kit it with a built in controller, etc. do some Ham radio too... no amp
Really...? Like, Really really? Us? 😲 If true, that's the single most hearwarming comment we've had in a long time. You picked a solid truck to start with... Too bad it wasn't a refrigerated box, they're well insulated to start with.
Awesome rig!!! Are you considering publishing plans of the build so others can use the same build techniques and tips to custom build their own rig? I would be very interested!! First class work!!
I think the 50+ videos I've made showing the process is as much of the "plan" as I can publish. Having watched so many people's builds and what each person thinks is the "perfect rig" just goes to show that everyone's perfect is different. I hope that our videos clearly show how we did ours, and others can follow along and adjust as needed. I doubt anyone will make the same design choices we made anyway.
Hello. I really would like to see some more of your DIN install, your thoughts, and general ideas on the system. Forgive me if I've missed a video where possibly you talked about it in which case is there a link to that video? I'm liking the functionality of it but don't know much about it and RUclips lacks when it comes to an overlanding build. Thank you. Great videos BTW
Such a great build. Intrigued by your “no pump noise” pressurized water system. Perhaps you could make a video describing this? If not, what’s the gist of the system? Thanks!
Cool. Thanks for the quick response. 😀 I figured you pressurized a tank, but would love to know more details such as the pump you use, how long and noisy it is to "pump it up", and low long it takes before the water pressure dips down enough for the pump to kick on to recharge the tanks. Of course I realize that the length of time depends on the flow rate from the fixture, but I'd love any details you can provide so I can decide if this is something I might want to add to my build. Again - this is a lot to ask, so maybe you could throw it into a future video as I certainly don't expect you to spend all your time answering questions from little old me. I'm guessing a lot of your viewers would be intrigued, as pump noise is the anathema of most rvers. Cheers!
You're right, I could make a whole video on the topic, but in brief, we have a Viair Compressor that has a ~3L tank, this gets charged up to ~120psi at an opportune time. Then this is stepped down to 40psi by a cheap regulator and then through a solenoid. Charging the tanks is done on demand at the moment, when the tanks are full they hold less compressed air, so the first charge lasts half a day and then we have to hit it again. This second charge is enough for a full day of use. I run the kegs in series so that the empty kegs act as a pressure vessel and the third charge will last 2-3 days. The little compressor runs for about 2 min to get up to pressure, usually once per day including the air used by the bumper/hold down clamp and solar slide pneumatic cylinders. It would run far less often if I used our bumper air tank (~6gal) for air/water pressure, but I POR15'ed the inside of that tank and it still has a bit of a paint smell 2 years later, so it's on a separate system for tires and non water tasks. We also have an engine driven air compressor that can do 20 times the CFM of the little Viair, but it has yet to be installed. Don't really air down the tires yet...
The no Pump noise Pepsi Keg video is done and will be premiered live at 12:00 MST - Just for you! Come Chat with us! ruclips.net/video/1THtBYxu8N8/видео.html
Really cool ideas and alternatives that you have used, like using pressurized water canisters instead of a tank and pump. I am very interested in your results with the Forest Air Mini Air Conditioner. It says the line set can be disconnected, how often did you disconnect and reconnect without issue? Documentation also says to not leave it out in the winter months, and also being from Canada, was wondering if you actually removed it from your rig and stored it inside for the winter months to prevent freezing? Safe Travels and maybe some day we will cross paths.
We have connected and disconnected it 3-5 times only, and it's been left on the truck through 2 winters without issue... I think the main reason they want you to keep it from freezing is that the water pump for the condensation is housed in the outside unit and vacuums it from the reservoir in the inside section and they don't want that to freeze while it's got water in the lines or pump. I've modified mine so that the distillate drains to the ground via gravity before the reservoir, so I'm less worried about this.
@@Everlanders so it appears that ForestAir is no longer producing units where the line set can be disconnected. The supplier indicated that the unit is more efficient without the connector. So hang on to yours as long as you can!
Solar panel question please- what brand type/size did you go with? I have thoroughly enjoyed finding, combing through, and getting to know your content. Particularly the delivery of the very technical data you provide. I have much more of your work to listen to, but I just couldn't find where you might have included the panels you chose. Thanks!

Charge with solar as one option but thinking of building it as a kit or something... or maybe just buy already made... but curious what basic components and quality to look at that will make me up and ready to use... i.e. do I have to have a special controller or do I kit it with a built in controller, etc. do some Ham radio too... no amp
Excellent build you guys are awsome😍😎
That is a awesome camper truck.
Had to comment love the homestarrunner reference with the Cheat!!!
But now you've dated yourself 🤣
That's some nice tech you made. You could look into an Elgato Stream Deck to run some of those fancy scripts. Very nice.
Stream Deck not required!
They always get the babes to show off the new models, don't they? ;-)
Yup! Lol... Thanks ...
You guys have inspired us to build one for ourselves, were just getting started now. thankyou!!! :D
Really...? Like, Really really? Us? 😲 If true, that's the single most hearwarming comment we've had in a long time. You picked a solid truck to start with... Too bad it wasn't a refrigerated box, they're well insulated to start with.
We're building everything from the frame up. I hope you don't mind if we borrow a few ideas form your design.
The DIN rail for the electronics is used only for the big DC breakers. Nothing else required it.
There is a little more shown when we wired in our second fridge: ruclips.net/video/kyMYBF6_olo/видео.html
O melhor equipamento que eu já ví entre todos, parabéns aos proprietários
Muito obrigado muito gentil de sua parte!
Love that you have a toilet and shower outside ♥️♥️♥️
Our Toilet is on the inside...
Such a great build. Intrigued by your “no pump noise” pressurized water system. Perhaps you could make a video describing this? If not, what’s the gist of the system? Thanks!
Very simply, We use stainless kegs, pressurized with 40psi of air to supply the water.

You Guys ROCK!! Keep up the good work.
Thanks!
Great video keep em coming!
1:47 do you have a video about the pillar gauge cluster? Looks great! I want to install one :-D
great videos by the way, keep up and safe travels
I don't have a video, it's a crappy Glowshift set, half the gauges glitch out or failed already...
@@Everlanders are you searching for a replacement? keep us post it...
Nope
looks awesome. great job. Definitely going to be a lot of fun.
Amazing! Love the build!
That thing is amazing !
Wowee .. what a bunch of super groovey folks .. bravo ..😁pip pips
nice homestar reference :)
