    Love your channel! I have a lot of respect for your ability to figure things out and be creative with solutions to challenges that come your way. I’m just getting started with building my own camping vehicle and I’m starting out with what I have, to see if I want to pursue that lifestyle in the future or stick with a more traditional lifestyle. I’m 67 and retired with a background in construction and structural engineering, so I usually do DIY projects instead of buying finished products wherever possible, or practicable.

    Great videos and nice job on the backstory... I’ve been mentally-planning my own self build for a while now and have taken inspiration from across the web. I think I’m honing-in on a medium-size 4x4 chassis truck with a self-build cabin now! The subframe suspension / isolation is one of the biggest questions I’ve been pondering so was interested to hear you talk about that. Might need to investigate pneumatic solutions now... thanks again for your videos. Enjoyed your story and they’re great content.

    It was quite heartwarming to hear the backstory and how you worked up to this not only over multiple years, but through 2 other camping rigs. Wow! One little note I have is that _kilometres_ is pronounced just like "nanometres", not like "thermometers", because it's a unit and not a device. A "kilometer" would come in handy in you wanted to track how many bears you slayed, or something like that.

    First, thank you for sharing your build : ) DIY builds like this are not that common. I think that some of the issues with the foam core come from the Dowboard surface. I am thinking the composite delaminates if the surface is not prepped right. Some score it with a brush. I am aware that Styromax and others use a special board, not available here, which has no coating on the surface. Their results are good.

    If you want a window, you can add a virtual window by putting a camera on the side of the truck and show the video on a flat screen inside on the wall. You can also put any beach video on the screen or Machu Picchu video.

    Hi there, I always enjoy your videos and stories on You Tube. I’m curious about the tires/wheels on your rig. Did you do the single wheel conversion yourself, or did someone help you with that. I found a US company online that will do the complete conversion (Buckstop), and living in Canada I’m not sure if this is a possibility with our border rules. Or if there is a Canadian company that can do a conversion. Thank you, Dan.

    • @Everlanders

      We did everything ourselves, there's nothing to convert, you just bolt them on...

      The website I was looking at said the internal frame, fender and body needed some cutting so the tires wouldn’t rub? Have you installed a lift as well, and do the front tires ever rub on the truck itself?
      And thanks for such a prompt reply.

    • @Everlanders
      @Everlanders  2 года назад +2

      We cut no frame, fender or body, as I've already mentioned, the wheels bolt on... We ran with stock suspension for 2 years, later we put on some different springs for a softer ride, this raised the truck about 2 in, but it wasn't necessary for the tires. This is all been covered in our build videos...

    I've been following along with you guys for awhile now and have found a ton of inspiration here. I'm considering building something similar to Beastie and wondered if you could go into more detail on why you feel it's important to build on the F550. Not saying it's the right thing to do, but I've seen a similar build done on an F250. Any info would be super!

    • @Everlanders
      @Everlanders  4 года назад +1

      The F-250 only had a 3380lb payload capacity and doesn't have flat frame rails. They hump over the rear axle. I'd seen too many builds with insufficient brakes or grossly over the GVWR to risk it. My philosophy was to overbuild rather then risk it.
