"New Wutai Goverment" sounds like something Yuffie would form herself as a kinda rebel group of her own to fight shinra oppression and defy her dad at the same time.
After seeing the FF7R Twitter account say that Sonon trained under Yuffie's father, a part of me now wonders if he sees Yuffie as a sister because of that.
Main theory I have is that the "Ultimate Materia" Yuffie is after in Midgard in her DLC will turn out to be the Protomateria. She discovers it's not in Midgar after all and sets out to find it. She'll then run into Cloud and the gang and decides to join them, hoping it could help lead her to the Protomateria. Of course this leads to her breaking into Shinra Masion with the others in Nibelheim in which she meets Vincent who has said Protomateria incased in his chest.
I can 100% imagine this being the case. If there were rumors that Shinra was in possession of the Protomateria -- which it could be argued that they technically are as it's in Shinra Mansion -- it would give Wutai reason to believe it was somewhere in Midgar. *Plot twist, she's actually after Holy and she tries to kill Aerith.

If this theory is true, it would put a gritty realism to the war with Wutai. War stories aren't glamourous. I'd like there to be a moment in the future of this game that really drives home how children dream of being heroes, but the adults know that they don't exist.
And additionally, it would be lovely to see newly rendered cutscenes to match the original games, but after seeing Zack running atop the train in Crisis Core, maybe we won't see any? Although, seeing their remake designs in the battle sequences gives me some hope... 🤞🤔

Also, I would assume this is happening right before they see Barret and Tifa talking about losing Cloud. Heidegger mentions the attempt at the president's life during the first bombing mission, a couple days before they would have been separated for Cloud. If anything, Sonon -- perhaps accompanied by members of AVALANCHE -- was part of that attempt, but it certainly wasn't with Yuffie.

So many thoughts... First, I don't think SE has released a price for the DLC alone (they said $70 for the full game on PS5), so it's likely not going to be $60 just for the 2 chapter DLC. Also, it's a really interesting theory here. I especially like the idea of Deep Ground working its way in with a Yuffie back story in the Remake. If your theory is true (that she inadvertently killed Sonon's sister) then that makes the line delivery - "Yeah, but I'm not your sister" - quite douchey. She seems defiant and disgusted, which would be really bold/abhorrent if she actually had killed his sister. I do have to say, I was one of the people who absolutely despised the mess that SE pulled with the final chapter of the Remake. That said, this DLC makes me quite excited. Now, I'm still not a convert, but the release of Ever Crisis helps to fill the "remake need," albeit not as completely as it would be if it was full AAA console. Of course that'll change if they do the same bait-and-switch that they did with Remake. All in all, I'm training myself to accept this "Remake" as a completely new game/story with characters that I love, which helps to soften the insult of the ending of Part I. We'll see how it goes.
Speaking of near automata, nier Replicant comes out soon. I hope you play it pez. It's so good. It's the prequel to automata. Loved your playthrough and review of automata. I hope the gaming community can recognize replicants beauty just like they did with automata. It's a hidden gem for sure

Especially as episode yuffie takes place before the whispers are gone. So the oblivion and marking on yuffie hasn't happened yet. Omega Weiss hasn't happened either. Interesting theory. Definitely don't think we're gonna see Vincent anytime soon. We'd be lucky to make it to Junon in part 2. And the PS5 has been out like half a year and most people still can't even get it. SE is basically rewarding like 2-3% of the fanbase for being able to preorder a console before scalpers got them all. It is completely justifiable for fans to be pissed that the dlc is locked behind a $500 console that no one can buy. And the fact that SE has basically dine little to update the PS4 version of FF7R makes it pretty clear they abandoned the game at launch in favor of the PS5 version, which is kinda insulting to their customers tbh.

As for the DLC, while I would usually understand Square to gate it behind the PS5 under normal circumstances, I completely agree that it's a shitty move considering how hard it is to get one. Unless Sony can get serious stock rolling out before June, a lot of us are going to miss out on DLC early on.

I feel like a lot of people forget just how early Junon is...If we don't even get that far, we'll basically have accomplished nothing at all. I see the Remake being either three or four parts, but no more than four. If we're lucky and it's three parts, then the next game will probably end at The Reunion, though that would be a lot of ground to cover in one game. If we take the more realistic option and go four parts, then it'll probably end at Nibelheim. We'll start part 2 by jumping right into the Nibelheim flashback and end it by seeing the real Nibelheim fully restored.

Part 3 could end with after where Aerith dies thus ending that game at the Northern Crater with an Empire Strikes Back-like revelation, Black Materia an' all - and then Part 4 could begin in Mideel where Tifa tries to piece Cloud's memories together. Maybe it could be done in 4 parts, but we'll see... 🤔

Also, I think Minerva and (a new more humble and chill) Genesis will be the endgame of Part 2. With Crisis Core being made canon, that means Minerva is canon, and she is about beat the shit out of everyone fucking with the planet's will.
I also think that Minervia is a "true" evil, because she found out via the lifestream that is was going to be replaced by the an Ancient, while this was the norm with the planet, but unlike the pervious Goddesses before her, she refuse to accepted it, so she was the one that brought Jenova the planet, knowing that it would kill all of the Ancients.

It sounds cool, but whatever, I see remake as a more standalone title seperate from the original and the compilation it's a mashup, sequel. everything has been mainly retconned, wanna stick to all the lore you researched, all that will all be added in Ever Crisis, remake is a mashup with stuff that made the most sense instead of applying every piece of logic, convoluted crap that never had any real bearing on og, like Weiss for instance killing the lovable flower girl. She tainted, Cloud's party are tainted. "Let the hunt begin" I guess Cloud's party have been marked for termination, as one motive, including the AVALANCHE cells, a new Wutai War the npcs constantly talk about throughout part one, there other motive is gaining the black and white materia and proto materia. Square even mentioned betrayal in a good way...I don't want to delve too deep with what they mean, obviously it has something to do with Cloud's party. Great theory as always man.
To answer the whole Yuffie and Vincent thing - Yuffie is a giant source of light right, Vincent is the darkness; they balance each other out perfectly. Yin and Yang :) cant have darkness without the light (and vice versa, where there is dense darkness there is equal light). It wouldn't make sense to have any other character balancing Vince, cos well Aeris (YES NOT AERITH, ahem) is a bit too pure shes not bubbly like the Yuffster, Tifa is like Aeris too mature it wouldnt balance Vincent cos he needs that spark. I've always shipped Vince and Yuffie XD cute couple no? Cmon you know its true! ALSO, Pez, remake isnt called remake cos its a 'remake', no it IS Sephiroths remake - his RE-DO of the past. We see vince ground his uncontrollable chaos powers through his emotions at one point, without the proto materia! So Yuffies light defo rubbed off on him, but how much happened vice versa? Yuffie literally going into the darkness and experiancing what she did in deepground and at the sister ray. She's a chirpy character who has seen some pretty dire stuff :O Thats why I want Vince/Yuffie to be an important duo in part 2, if it goes to the first nibelheim visit that is :D
Do you know abou the Remake facts from the book Material Ultimania and walk through midgar? Someone on tumblr/twitter translate parts of it and shared them. There is a lot about the design of the characters and even how long it takes Cloud to style his hair! They talk about a cut episode of Tifa, how the Turks have to write apology letters if they fail a mission and about Zacks survival. I knew they would force ps5 eventually, I just didn't expect so soon. I figured they would let us get about halfway before issuing mandates to upgrade, especially since the ps5 has been out for how long now and it's still just as hard to get one as they were day one? I figured they would at least wait until either scalpers were dealt with or supply/distribution met a reasonable standard. Now it just seems petty. Especially since they only released 1 thing before demanding people upgrade and with that basically demanding people shell out at least triple msrp before being allowed to continue. I'm sorry but for 1.8k my ps5 had better be an exact replica of midgar and offer features that are unique to that model. Otherwise I should be looking to build a pc, but wait there's more...pc components are also stuck in this hostage negotiation. If they hadn't already set the the bar for themselves that ps4 would be a reasonable outlet to play from and made it exclusive to boot, it wouldn't come across as tone deaf as it currently does.

I don't think Yuffie and Vincent will be with the main cast of FF VII in this remake, I think they will have their side games and do their own thing. That way the final game can have the same sort of ending that doesn't have Vincent and Yuffie, like in the PS1 game, but for slightly different reasons.

In the world Materia is slotted into weapons and armor so it should be visible and Clouds outfit is SOLDIER so safe to say he would have
As a note, the "I am not your sister" line was also used in FFXIII... in a similar fast-movement vehicle/train scene.
Back then it was Lightning saying it to Snow... up now, it is Yuffie saying it to Sonona.

And the PS5 has been out like half a year and most people still can't even get it. SE is basically rewarding like 2-3% of the fanbase for being able to preorder a console before scalpers got them all. It is completely justifiable for fans to be pissed that the dlc is locked behind a $500 console that no one can buy. And the fact that SE has basically dine little to update the PS4 version of FF7R makes it pretty clear they abandoned the game at launch in favor of the PS5 version, which is kinda insulting to their customers tbh.
Do you mean you don't think we'll make it to Nibelheim? Junon is like the first major location visited after Kalm, which is where we'll probably start part two.
As for the DLC, while I would usually understand Square to gate it behind the PS5 under normal circumstances, I completely agree that it's a shitty move considering how hard it is to get one. Unless Sony can get serious stock rolling out before June, a lot of us are going to miss out on DLC early on.
@@EvilDude1 I think Part 2 will finish in Nibelheim/Mt Nibel too. I reckon Part 3 could start in Gongaga, as I believe it would be a nice way for the party to meet Zack's parents, etc...
I feel like a lot of people forget just how early Junon is...If we don't even get that far, we'll basically have accomplished nothing at all. I see the Remake being either three or four parts, but no more than four. If we're lucky and it's three parts, then the next game will probably end at The Reunion, though that would be a lot of ground to cover in one game. If we take the more realistic option and go four parts, then it'll probably end at Nibelheim. We'll start part 2 by jumping right into the Nibelheim flashback and end it by seeing the real Nibelheim fully restored.

Part 3 could end with after where Aerith dies thus ending that game at the Northern Crater with an Empire Strikes Back-like revelation, Black Materia an' all - and then Part 4 could begin in Mideel where Tifa tries to piece Cloud's memories together. Maybe it could be done in 4 parts, but we'll see... 🤔

Regarding your PS5 woes, you knows there's a good chance this will come to PC on the same day? They just can't announce it until April due to Sony agreement.
They said the upgrade is free once you already got the game for ps4, the yuffie dlc will be around 15-30 bucks, hopefully the former

Also, I think Minerva and (a new more humble and chill) Genesis will be the endgame of Part 2. With Crisis Core being made canon, that means Minerva is canon, and she is about beat the shit out of everyone fucking with the planet's will.
I also think that Minervia is a "true" evil, because she found out via the lifestream that is was going to be replaced by the an Ancient, while this was the norm with the planet, but unlike the pervious Goddesses before her, she refuse to accepted it, so she was the one that brought Jenova the planet, knowing that it would kill all of the Ancients.

It sounds cool, but whatever, I see remake as a more standalone title seperate from the original and the compilation it's a mashup, sequel. everything has been mainly retconned, wanna stick to all the lore you researched, all that will all be added in Ever Crisis, remake is a mashup with stuff that made the most sense instead of applying every piece of logic, convoluted crap that never had any real bearing on og, like Weiss for instance killing the lovable flower girl. She tainted, Cloud's party are tainted. "Let the hunt begin" I guess Cloud's party have been marked for termination, as one motive, including the AVALANCHE cells, a new Wutai War the npcs constantly talk about throughout part one, there other motive is gaining the black and white materia and proto materia.
Square even mentioned betrayal in a good way...I don't want to delve too deep with what they mean, obviously it has something to do with Cloud's party.

To answer the whole Yuffie and Vincent thing - Yuffie is a giant source of light right, Vincent is the darkness; they balance each other out perfectly. Yin and Yang :) cant have darkness without the light (and vice versa, where there is dense darkness there is equal light). It wouldn't make sense to have any other character balancing Vince, cos well Aeris (YES NOT AERITH, ahem) is a bit too pure shes not bubbly like the Yuffster, Tifa is like Aeris too mature it wouldnt balance Vincent cos he needs that spark. I've always shipped Vince and Yuffie XD cute couple no? Cmon you know its true! ALSO, Pez, remake isnt called remake cos its a 'remake', no it IS Sephiroths remake - his RE-DO of the past. This makes so much sense. This is the other hidden meaning Nomura was hinting at but wouldnt speak of... yet.
Totally agree and well put! This is sephs ng+ and he has control over the narrative now. Yuffie defo counterbalances vincent but also rub off on each other no? We see vince ground his uncontrollable chaos powers through his emotions at one point, without the proto materia! So Yuffies light defo rubbed off on him, but how much happened vice versa? Yuffie literally going into the darkness and experiancing what she did in deepground and at the sister ray. She's a chirpy character who has seen some pretty dire stuff :O
Thats why I want Vince/Yuffie to be an important duo in part 2, if it goes to the first nibelheim visit that is :D

Do you know abou the Remake facts from the book Material Ultimania and walk through midgar? Someone on tumblr/twitter translate parts of it and shared them. There is a lot about the design of the characters and even how long it takes Cloud to style his hair! They talk about a cut episode of Tifa, how the Turks have to write apology letters if they fail a mission and about Zacks survival. I knew they would force ps5 eventually, I just didn't expect so soon. I figured they would let us get about halfway before issuing mandates to upgrade, especially since the ps5 has been out for how long now and it's still just as hard to get one as they were day one? I figured they would at least wait until either scalpers were dealt with or supply/distribution met a reasonable standard. Now it just seems petty. Especially since they only released 1 thing before demanding people upgrade and with that basically demanding people shell out at least triple msrp before being allowed to continue. I'm sorry but for 1.8k my ps5 had better be an exact replica of midgar and offer features that are unique to that model. Otherwise I should be looking to build a pc, but wait there's more...pc components are also stuck in this hostage negotiation. If they hadn't already set the the bar for themselves that ps4 would be a reasonable outlet to play from and made it exclusive to boot, it wouldn't come across as tone deaf as it currently does.

I don't think Yuffie and Vincent will be with the main cast of FF VII in this remake, I think they will have their side games and do their own thing.
That way the final game can have the same sort of ending that doesn't have Vincent and Yuffie, like in the PS1 game, but for slightly different reasons.
