  • In this video we will continue to explore form creation by starting with 3 car blueprints and inserting them into Fusion 360 to use as a basis for the design. I simply searched for Car Blueprint online and cut up the image into a Front, Back and Side. If you want to use the file in the video you can download it here.

This has been an incredibly helpful series, I can’t thank you enough for putting in the time and effort to create these. I used to do CAD modeling back in college but then left it for over a decade before coming back. Within a few videos, I felt more capable than I was back when I was doing it daily. Your teaching style is incredible, keep up the good work!

Wow thank you! The series you are on now was never meant to be a start to finish car modeling series, but as I was going I kept getting questions. There are 2 complete series on this channel that you can follow using Fusion. ruclips.net/p/PLBDfGh8A8kXW2KBn0b7pMsH5q6FLfSYql
There is also a Ferrari 308 series. The 911 series I did in longer videos but the 308 series was broken up into more parts.

I've done quite a lot in Fusion 360 with solid modelling (I'm nowhere near an expert), and decided to have a look at form modelling for a project I'm doing. There seem to be far fewer tutorials out there on this subject, so I was happy to find yours. You've got a great teaching manner and superb content. Thank you so much for taking the time to produce these, they're top notch!

Don’t forget to say like and subscribe! I always forget to give videos a thumbs up, and those reminders are actually quite useful. I’m making my way through your content and loving every video, thank you for your dedication and efforts to creating this channel🤓

Thanks for that! I kind of made it an unofficial goal to not ask people to do that. I might change that at some point :)

Yeah i realized that in the next video I think :) Once i decided to actually model more of the car and pulled some reference pictures I realized the err in my ways.

How would you model the Tesla Cybertruck? Since it has very flat panels would you use the same method or would it be easier with a solid model?

    • @LearnEverythingAboutDesign
      @LearnEverythingAboutDesign  8 месяцев назад +1

I haven't tried to model one but I would assume its pretty straight forward with all the flat sides as well. I have plans for an upcoming video doing a stealth jet which has a bunch of flat faces. The way I did that was with 3d sketches and laid out the boundaries of each panel. I wouldn't use forms for the cybertruck, but you could if you creased all the edges.

I would suggest this series ruclips.net/p/PLBDfGh8A8kXW2KBn0b7pMsH5q6FLfSYql I go into a lot more detail and we add everything like the seams and details for the renders.
As for printing. If you make the final shape completely enclosed you can make it a solid and can 3d print it. I have had to do this for clients in the past. It does take some extra work.

No worries! Someone else made the comment too :) Never having owned one i just got mixed up. all good :)
FYI this series was never meant to walk through the entire car. It started as just the hood, but we go over a lot of it. the end does have a download with a near down one but its not without some problems. If you are looking for a complete series the Ferrari 308 or the 911 series are start to finish.

Sorry but I can't model it for you. I have several series on how to model a car in this method. A ferrari 308 as well as a Porsche 911 RWB style widebody. Feel free to ask questions, but at this time I can't model it for you sorry.

Bro it's a free blueprint website.

Kumar, i can see the link in the preview of your comment but i think it got removed automatically. I have had mixed luck with some sites so generally i suggest people search and sign up for whatever they are comfortable with. The cars that I would put a lot of detail into would be ones that I own. That really helps as there are so many details you don't get from blueprints or even pictures.

@@Olilar397 If you are just starting I wouldn't start here. I have an old intro series on this channel ruclips.net/p/PLBDfGh8A8kXXArhsr4lj9zBo66HqRdryf and I also have absolute beginner content on my site www.learneverythingaboutdesign.com The content on the site is newer(few months old), while the playlist on here is from 2020 so the program will look a little different.
Once you have the core concepts down on modeling then you can jump into harder stuff. If you want to model cars I would suggest either the Ferrari 308 series i have or the 911 series. Both are walk throughs of the process with the 911 series being around 10.5hrs of video.
