Max, I have been following your design series for some time now as I use it for a smaller application in the rc car world to design rc cars for a 3d printed scenario. I like how you use the canvas in the other video's to build off of. I'm using the 1994-1995 Toyota Supra model to make my next project as it is one of the most popular cars on the Rc drift scene, I would love to see you do a video on this as we are all still learning to use Fusion 360 and sometimes it can be challenging. Thanks again for all you do to teach us with this software...

Yeah, I have this Ford Mustang episodes where you can use Supra instead of Mustang Canvases. It is quite hard to teach car modeling in one hour 🥵 that’s why I’ve made those videos for people who really wanna learn proper way.
Quick tip: use wheel base for rc car :) otherwise when you thicken the model, than make it small for 3D printing and it may be way to thin..

Thank you for the great tutorial. I’m thinking of making my 1/14 -1/16th Funny car mold with. 3d printer. Have many questions but one curious one. Why did you not join the rim and the tire. I kept waiting for that action. Don’t they have to be joined to be printed?

Thanks. Good question. Yes, it is better to join them. This tutorial was mainly for modeling, not 3D printing.
It is very easy to join them together, fusion have combine function, if bodies touch each other, they will be joined together as one.

48:47 this is a big face but how did you make it like a window face? when I put the glossy black its a big face
Thanks for the video! I ran into a problem at minute 10:15. When I delete the faces for the wheels, the edges that remain stay in their square shape the face previously had, they don't form arcs. Is there a way to fix this?

When I select 6 faces and pull them up, all the surrounding faces also go way up compared to yours. Even the edges on the end rise up, unlike yours where they are still on the plane. Are there any settings that need to be changed?
Realized that I have to hold alt key while doing that.

Something must have changed in the latest version here in 2024. I can't get past the create plane at 1:30 in the video because when I create the plane and hit enter, the dimensions still move around with my mouse and I don't get the options for how many faces. If I hit enter again it completes the plane and I never get the pop up to specify all that other stuff. Going to try another car tutorial for now and see if someone replies to this comment.

why does it shows "conversion error for body edges or faces may be crossing. review in box mode" when I try to go to render
Yeah, that means that your actual model is intersecting with itself, or what you have to do is move them away from each other, or unweld delete some points and weld it back.. I understand this sounds quite difficult, but if you figure out how to do it, then you’re pretty much done with sculpting learning

Hi, so I finished modeling and when I clicked finish form, it said there were errors, I fixed all of them except for one, which is stuck inside the wheel arches. and I cannot fix it except for deleting important things. is there any way to fix this or delete things inside from the outside? Thanks.
Hi, yeah most of the times, when you Finnish form, especially if you are beginner you will get that message, professionals already knows that and making their model as accurate as possible. To resolve you can try to weld some vertices, or switch to box mode and fix it. as soon as you will understand this, you will become semi pro in sculpting mode!

for the tires part at 16:02 it lets me select one side but not the other, is there any way to fix this?

Hi, in skulp mode there will be icon “edit”.. just select the he face you want to edit and press this icon (button) and you will enter edit face mode.
