Fun fact for those who don't know - Pokémon's initial lore when they were just making the first games, which was translated from a Japanese interview, was similar to this. Was along the lines of being 1:1 of the real world, and the sudden mutation which overwhelmed normal animal ecosystems.

This explains so much. Giovanni actually treats you with a moderate level of respect in RBY, something Oak never seems to show Blue.
Well, that is because Giovanni respects strength. And with Red and Blue showing they are so much stronger than him and even Team Rocket (the game series never gives him justice...because "bad guy group"). Thud Blue ends up being a Gym Leader replacing Giovanni and Red...well Red does his own thing. I know the Manga explores him deeply. I just hadn't read the Manga in years.
Professor Oak, all boils down to it. If we just break down him. He has to be a sociopath. As he acts all friendly. But deep down it is a mask. He has little sympathy for anything but his own work and accomplishments.

@@QardoIf you play the FireRed ROM hack Team Rocket Edition there's a whole ass plotline about Oak being a former champion and wanting to seize control of power again.
Not really; once the game starts with the idea of pokePokemony started around when Oak was a teenager, none of it can even be considered following any cannon. Pokemon are millions of years old.
I thought this was gonna be a slice of life game with oak helping the world while John tries to stop him,not oak literally become a menace to society 😦

This storyline.. Very intriguing, and really puts those like Alder into a new context. That the Pokémon League attempts normalizing technology and strict carrying limits.. and yet he refuses to. Also, it looks like Blaine's implied to be related to Flint.
It even explains why the Original Bird Trio are more common than other legendaries.
(Plus, the unintentional horror in-game, explicit in this, that Kanto was forced to lose any of the later-gen elements. Fake Dexes.)
I love he keeps calling them “teams” or “groups” when they’re gangs.
I know this is supposed to be a prequel to fire red, but I hope that there is a sequel to this game that goes alongside reds journey but shows how he was being used

This is actually a very cool concept bc you could use the same maps in these and just change the time frame. Very versatile.
I wonder now how Agatha ends up in the pokemon league after all this. And how they keep the story when there are still so many people that remember the way it actually was. Koga Blaine Mr. Fugi etc.
Two Words: Lake Trio. If the Pokémon League created all Pokémon then that would mean they created Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf for the exact purpose of rewriting people's memories. And I know that only Uxie is associated with the mind but if the Pokédex is all fake then that would mean that the Lake Trio's powers wouldn't necessarily be Knowledge, Emotion, and Willpower.
Koga joins Giovanni, Blaine joins Giovanni, Fuji leaves Giovanni when he thinks team rocket has become too ruthless.
@@Guntherson220 No. All the mythology is a lie, including the god-like power some mons have. The brainwashing is more about replacing culture and changing the ideology with the political and social influence the League has rather than having a mon to do that for them.
Koga and Blaine had a lot to gain from the new system. Prof. Oak gave them at vested interest in the new society. Before they were just local warlords with limited power; now they were seen as the de facto leaders of their communities. They no longer had to use fear as warlords, but merely use the "respect" they received as gym leaders to maintain stability with them receiving an outsized proportion of the benefit of the stability.
Damn, this was actually pretty cool. Lore like this just makes the game feel more rich and really makes you think about a lot of the stuff we grew up with and had seen. Its almost as if the very reality we were living growing up had been a ruse the entire time. Good video!

That game is dope and also contains a lot of references, specially "Club Fight" that inspired the final scene! It's amazing and I think it deserves a sequence or at least an official fan made series on RUclips, it'll be awesome

Wow the story behind this game is awesome. Will definitely try it although the story doesn't fit with the hisui arc and other storylines in Pokémon, only with Kanto

There is a reference in the second part of this game that Rufflet hasn't gotten to yet, (which is like an entire game anyway) that says that all of the "legends" entries are basically mythological tales that the League came up with. What do you expect with smartphones in 1800s Hisui?

I think this was only intended to fit with the Kanto and Johto games, not all official Pokemon material
If Samson felt remorse for his vile actions, he'd go back in time to stop himself from insulting Agatha in the first place and prevent the events of this game from ever happening. I seriously hop this idea becomes a sequel to this game

It's mildly amusing and kinda horrifying these fangame always turn Red into a sort of "puppet-ruler".
ESPECIALLY if you take into account an iteration of his and Blue's friendship say he picked up an interest in pokémon because Blue started bullying him.
Blue, the grandson of the guy who's trying to make him into a pokémon master, decides to start bullying him and causes him to get interested in pokémon, with the Pokémon Professor living in his town…

Like, fellas- GSC/HGSS tells us he hasn't talked with his mother in THREE YEARS, and a good chunk of Blue's dialogue is telling us how much he misses him (and how Ethan reminds him of Red), Oak's done some fuckery here.
At least he and his -boyfie- best friend are now enjoying vacation in a tropical island while doing what they do best, pokémon battling, together.

Movie spoiler - In the 4th pokemon movie we meet professor Oak as a kid. Back then he hade a charmilion in a old versin of a pokeball. So in fact pokemons existed when Oak was a kid.
This is a fan story. If they sat there weren't, then there were not.

This game is such an edgy and badly written fanfiction... Oak having the powers of essentially God, going mad with power and being a huge dick, essentially faking the history of the world and working to set up shadow puppet governments in all regions is SO contrived. The 4th Pokemon film had better worldbuilding about the past using Sam!
Agreed. I cringe at seeing everyone praising it. It just goes to stupid lengths to retcon the series into being a grim dark dystopia
not the best written, but Oak isnt protrayed as anything other than a henchman, who is responsible for the "conventions". He didnt create mons, his colleagues brought them over to Kanto before he was sent there. Also there is a lore text file in the game where everything is taken from official gen 1 and beta sources. I think rowlit exaggerated/misunderstood some things

this is really cool, but there's one problem with the story - why would the pokemon league care about manipulating people like that? they're already the most powerful group just by virtue of having powerful pokemon

because this game is not canon? And Prof. Oak in this game (which non canon btw) made a lie to the world by creating pokedex that tells fake lores, teaching student about the (fake) world of pokemon, got backup by pretty much all of the govs, gym leaders, and leagues. Yes the most parents might know the reap story, but the childrens (red or pretty much all of the young ppl) doesnt know about that because the whole world is lying.
Actually, in the lore, they were actually a thing before. The game has a prequel that it's set in Orre in 1820s which explains part of the lore of the game.

"Legendaries" being actually the last of it's kind and facing extinction without a mate, much like the last Rhino IRL, would make a lot of sense. What was once common, will forever be lost once the last one dies. Unless it's a ghost pokemon, or Arceus (and by extention, Legends Arceus game) which I have no idea how that would fit into this fanfic lore with all the time traveling and whatnot.

The story is kinda sick and fix some inconsistencies about pokemon world, but I think i prefer the original lore, the pokemon original lore is also pretty complex but simple at the same time
legends arceus shows us that definitely isn't what happened but this si such a cool concept and i think i like this more

If Nintendo employees, ever find this comment i just want you to know “Roms/Rom hacks are a way for people to live out the dream games they always imagined playing. There are ones where you can be a Gym leader, or play a story about a character there isn’t much lore in then fill in the background, you can play as a villain or be your own evil boss. Everything a regular company would think as being too much of a gamble, a rom hack can situate that need or fill that niche desire. If anything, my last ditch response is look to see what implementations or tactics people choose for the popular rom hacks and use it as a means to glean off of them for the main series. They can never compete with you and your resources, but you can allow them to act as a pseudo testing division with none of the expenses or bad publicity involved in it.”
