- How long is the journey from 1 to 60 really in Classic World of Warcraft from an XP point of view?
That is the question I attempt to visualize and explain in different fun and interesting ways in today’s video. It won’t be a guide on how to maximize leveling speed, the best way to level or something like that, but rather a display of some of the numbers behind the 1 to 60 Classic WoW journey.
I have not had any statistics or big datasets available to look at, and the Classic WoW leveling experience is of course different to everyone, and there are no correct or wrong ways to go about it.
In today’s video, I set up some “leveling scenarios”, so to say, and talk about the basic math behind them. I will be asking quite a few hypothetical questions and let the thoughts flow from there.
It is possible that I have made some calculation errors, so you can check them all for yourself through the links below. If you find any mistakes I would be happy to know about them. I hope you enjoy the video!

Turns out he wasn’t talking about wasted experience but RESTED experience. Mind Blown.
Arnold my man, playing wow and making ng guides.... I know, I know. I'll show myself out. Love your content man. Keep it up
Thanks a lot for the nice comment man :) Very glad to hear you enjoy the vids!
1-10 is about 2-4 hours
11-20 is a couple days
21-30 means I should be doing homework
I afk for a couple days
Gets invite to dungeons and leveled to 34
Afk
I’m at around 20 days right now
The REAL struggle is from 48 to 60.
OrdoMallius depends on class... As warrior struggle is 1-60. As mage there is no struggle :D
yea if you're to stupid to get 60 prior to honor system and then not dungeon grind for xp
SITH LORD GOD stupid for not spending all my time playing video game? Oh Sorry, Lol. And warrior struggles leveling even without pvp you smarthead
@@SlayNorway grade A douchebag.
@@JA-zw9ju everything you just said is completely wrong. people who play 1 hour every 2 days is 60 already. you realise that yh? warriors arent slow levelers either, thats just u being stupid. STRAIGHT UP, atleast accept it
Arnold is the best youtube imo
If you're referring to me, thanks a lot mate :)

@@Kivrus That's very nice of you :)
This guys voiceover is awesome, and great editing too. Wish you the best
That's very nice - thanks a lot! Very glad you liked it. Happy holidays to you :)
solo warrior here... i got 1 week vacation on 1st week of classic to enjoy the clusterfuck... still i was "ahead of the curve"... still got me 1 month to get to 60 playing non stop 1 week and then 2 to 6 hours a day rest 3 weeks
I grinded hard the first week as well and got to 60 in one month like yourself. I played a mage though so I assume I had a bit of an easier time.
Very cool numbers in this video. And props for doing it in your non native language
Thanks a lot man!
You can't even compare Jokerd and Joana. Jokerd abused every exploit he could with layering.
He didn't beat Joana's record since it's from another game essentially, and no credit should be taken away from him, but even without the layering abuse I'm pretty sure Jokerd would still have gotten a record time.
Its a race for world first, if you dont use everything available you are a fool
exploit or not he was targeted by gankers aswell so i would say is fair game
Joana still king in Vanilla
Jokerd still king in Classic (lvling wise)
@@mariusflo1 Everybody is targeted by gankers though.
Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed the numbers breakdown
Very happy to hear that! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Wonderful effort. It sounds right on, for both cleave runs and solo grinding. What total played time do you think is realistic for good gamers but not expert fingers? I think somewhere around 9 days to 13 days is realistic maybe? My mage is lvl 58 at 18 days, but I have done most of the quests, my 5 professions are at 300, and I have done all faction and neutral dungeons about 3 times each (for quest completion). Thanks for all the numbers!
Thanks a lot! I'm very glad you enjoyed the video and the numbers :) In terms of played time, it's hard to say. When I did some research I saw people saying the average was probably between 8 to 10 days, but this might have been based on private servers where people were more hardcore. I've also heard people say that leveling takes longer in Classic generally, so the estimate you bring up could very well be accurate. Pretty cool that you've taken your time to level up all professions and experience the dungeons so thoroughly!
Bro what? I hit 60 at around 9-10 days at a decent rate including maxing out professions
Dungeon farming is so nice especially on servers like ferlina where your gonna get ganked or wait forever on mob respawn
I can totally imagine that. I was fortunate enough almost never to get ganked when leveling my character in the beginning. I guess people were too focused on getting to 60 fast then and didn't bother PvP'ing with no honor system yet.
SO i know i suck at leveling. I have like 12 days played and I'm only level 56. Now i am a warrior so its tough, but its silly. The problem right now is that i can level any place other than dungeons. i am posting up until BGs and i am getting RESTED. I think the key is going to be getting my rested.
That's not too bad of a played time, honestly. Getting rested experience in an inn is definitely something I personally prioritize above all almost since it helps so much - especially at the higher levels! Leveling my mage from 1-60 I pretty much always logged out in an inn except if I was coming back only a few hours later.
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 Moegdal's WoW Videos Thanks that is good to hear. Because how hard it is to level, left my toon in IF. I think i will have almost maxed rested once i BGs release. I really hope leveling becomes a little easier. I dont mind dying, its part of the game. But it shouldnt be a constant blood bath, where i die 2-3 times per quest. I hope this gets a little better.
@@RB-jf5ww I'm sure the introduction of BGs will reduce the ganking that's happening at least a bit (depends on your server's size as well), and rested XP at those high levels is so valuable so leveling your character should hopefully feel a lot easier.
I reached lvl 60 2 and a half weeks after release with about 8 days of played time, was ahead of most of the curve and I started using aoe dungeon farm (was a mage) only past lvl 30 with SM.
That's very quick! How come you didn't decide to AoE-farm out in the open world?
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 It was my first time playing wow in its vanilla /classic state and I had never played a mage before either so I was kinda bad ad my beginnings haha when I tried aoe grinding in the open I was mostly dying from the mobs so I just waited to be able to go in the big aoe grind dungeons that I was seeing people talk about
That's fair :) Impressive time still also considering it was your first time.
i be back...in azeroth :D nice video keep it going!
No joke took me a month and a half to get from 48 to 54. I’m still not 60😟
Keep on grinding man :) As long as you are enjoying your time. For the higher levels, make sure you log out in an inn for the rested experience. It makes a huge difference.
1 to 50 took me 2 month and the last 10 lvls 2 weeks.
Leveling professions, doing all dungeon quests and traveling around the world (searching for quest spots) made me lose a lot of time.
Idk if it's worth making a video for but maybe some lesser known terminology in WoW?
Thanks for the idea. It might be something I could work with in the future.
Im curious how long it would take to level only doing bgs. I've been trying it and its been very very very slow....but I'm on a mission
Wow, I didn't think you could get XP in Classic from doing battlegrounds. Is it from the honor / bg tokens you can turn in for reputation? Gl with your mission, though :-)
LOL. My stomach couldn't hold that much drink.
Chill voice you sound like Arnold. I think that's good. You also gave me good info that say I should quest I am thankful for that. 100th like.
Thanks a lot for the nice comment! I'm happy the accent is a positive for you and that you enjoyed the video. I'm glad I could help.
I did warrior in 6d1h solo but ran every dungeon but deadmines and gnomer once
That's an admirable time!
Please make a walk-through video, so we can fast leveing to 60
@@dedenandar6404 I don't think I'm the right person for that. I'm pretty fast at leveling if I'd say so myself but no speed-leveler.
Er nede med dine videoer! Hvad server er du på? :D
Mange tak skal du have! Spiller Alliance på Skullflame lige nu :-)
took me 14 days to get to lv60 so that's 336 hours of gameplay.
I see a few people on the video commenting played times of over 10 days so maybe 14 days is around the average actually. It would be cool to have some statistics on it.
This guy sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger when he was 25 years old if he had a lisp
this is how 90% of the Danish population sounds like when they speak english
YEMIL so at least 80% on danish women have such a deep voice? Scary.
Gotta love math
You could probably write a book with all the data in this video lol
I hope it wasn't too much :)
While your Math is prolly correct....there is one thing you forgot. Quests. IF you are doing Dungeons..Quests are Mandatory. Personally...as a Mage...AOE Grinding is where it is at! Mobs that are two levels higher max! But I suck at it..so I die ALOT!!
Yeah, I would have liked to have quests added into some of the equations, but that would have required a lot more work and I would have had to make many more subjective guesses and estimates in my opinion, so I decided against it. I would have loved to have some actual Classic data available (like statistics or something).
0-60 in 5days 6 hours as mage
That's a strong time.
This started up very interesting but derailed pretty quickly :P.
I did my best to set the expectations for the video early on.
GET TO DA CHOPPPPPAAAAA
What?? i am lvl 36 i thought i have passed half of the Time Till 60 T.T
Hehe, well not in terms of XP and probably not /played time either. Keep on grinding :D
I've played about 2 weeks and I'm level 32
I was wondering if you would use the same stats in tbc and cutting it to a % how much time can you save.
I speak about it briefly in my "How Azeroth was Nerfed in TBC" video. After the changes that happened to XP in patch 2.3.0 in TBC, you would be dinging level 60 when you would otherwise have been level 55 and a half in Vanilla - from a pure, numeric XP point of view. That's without the quest XP buffs taken into account. XP gained from a lot of quests was also buffed along with other changes that also made leveling faster and easier.
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 oh very smooth, wow much was changed for sure.
12 days for me
This is why I lost interest in WoW classic, it takes way to damn long to level up. There's grinding and then there's deliberately wasting my time for arbitrary (aka $$$) reasons just so i can continue to have my time wasted.
screw that I made it to lvl 50 from lvl 1 on a paladin in 1 day and 6 hours played time just played couple hours a day few a few weeks on Retail, WoW isnt even relevant enough anymore theres better and new MMO's coming out in the future with way better gfx, this game has lost almost half its player base since last year, Blizzard/Activision done that on purpose to make Classic grindy so u waste more money on monthly subs the longer it takes you to get to 60 smartly played on their part.
i like
Happy to hear that man!
It is fuckin looong
i want to hear this guy saying "UwU whats this, a huge rank bulge OwO"
Try warrior and make video like this thing, i bet you can speak like this again. Or paladin.
It would be interesting to have some data from a 1-60 run with quests etc. for sure.
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 I've played try every class and every charr both of HORDE and ALLIANCE side, the term how long you can fast leveling and Ding in 60 its deppend the class you train or played. Every class had different difficult and different quest to qonquered. Don't see your playtime but every individual person has a different skill, that s all i know.
@@dedenandar6404 Yeah, you're totally right. I think warrior, paladin and rogue are generally considered the slowest. Mage, hunter, warlock and druid are the fastest to my knowledge.
A Video, with all the useless information anyone could ask for.
Jokerd had his brother play on his account as well, I think someone else holds the true record for a solo run
There is always the possibility of stuff like that happening I guess. Unless people play with a webcam or you set up an event like the Method guys did.
It was a joke they used on his channel. He doesn't even have a brother. Mentioned this many times on his streams. Don't spread rumors
