Here is a genius child prodigy for you! Varvara's masterful playing of Handel's Harp Concerto is simply breathtaking, out of this world for a 6 year-old child.
Varvara, is so on track the way she commands the music coming from her Harp, I like the way you play you make the music just flow up where people can just sit back, close their eyes and think of all of the good things life has to offer thanks people need to hear you play you very well.
Many religious believe there are angels in heaven playing harps so beautifully. OTOH we have actual little angels playing the harp here and now! This young lady as well as Alisa are breaking new boundaries and I can only express my admiration. BTW why are these prodigies all coming out of Russia? Their Wheaties must be pretty special IMO! Anyway, kudos for these special young artists, gives me hope for the continuation of quality/classical music! Best to all.
I know little to nothing about the harp, but I do appreciate how difficult it must be for such young fingers to subdue and conquer this very large stringed instrument which seems to loom above her. She seems to be the equal of young Alisa Sadikova.
+George Sigalos - Ivanova plays at a professional level in this video. Sadikova's video of the same piece at age 7 is good for a 7 year old but is far from professional level.
+George Sigalos just to clarify why she seems so good, she plays a really simplified version of the concerto (which is acceptable since she's so young)
@mightybruce131 Dedication, perspiration and a sturdy teacher's ruler I think. In this case I would like to have been born in Russia. It seems strange that while I'm watching a 6 year old play, I'm thinking, "I hope with all my heart that she will teach me one day"!! I do have a great teacher now, but it would be icing on the cake if Vavara would even think about teaching me. In 5 or 6 years time.
Russia has had some great composers too but it is nice to see that Russians appreciate the music of composes from other cultures as well - including the music of a German who did most of his composing in England.
This young lady plays very well...it amazes me so many young musicians come from Russia, do think they must have very good teachers...thank you to both....keep on ,keep on!
I mean..... what age did she start studying the harp to be able to play that heavenly at 6, not be paralyzed by fear in front of an audience and be so much in control? These kids have got to come from another planet...
Yeah, well, sure, she won all the big competitions in her youth thanks to that. But as soon as she reached adulthood, she quit the harp and entered into a convent. That's what happens when parents decide how their kids should spend their time.
Suzuki starts without reading right away. My daughter is 9 and learning this song right now, and has only been at the harp for 1.5 years. She is beginning to learn to read but they want the music to be internalized before reading. Just like we internalize stories before we learn to read books. With that said, it is still important to learn to read...
i was a little surprised the concerto is not played in integrale, i understand Varvara was very young but the integrale piece would have to be played integrally no? it would be genious, no?
It is amazing these children play without having to read their music as they play....says alot for their teachers? She does seem to have some problem with such a large instrument tho she plays very well.
Bless her heart. Her tiny hands don't seem big enough, nor do her arms seem long enough to produce that enchanting music. It brought me to tears.
Extraordinaire !

WONDERFUL !!!
exquisite so young so talented
Wow! At 6, I'd have been doing well to play this on the stereo.

It's a very big country, but they also have excellent music schools.

They are also the ones best in classical music
Now she is 30 years old. Lovely.

Actually at that age learning is extremely faster
Bravo!
She found her true calling - gave it all up to become a nun.
only in russia. fantastic.
One kid that made the best out of her childhood while others were watching stupid TV programs.

Karla Last Name Must be a calling to give up such amazing talent! I wish I could get hold of her CDs.
@@karlalastname4944 - What's wrong with wanting to dedicate oneself to God? I hope she has a fulfilling life.
wish the music and the picture were "in synch" - off by about 5 seconds
Is it just me, or does the music get desynched with the video, lagging by about 5 seconds, starting at around 4:00 in?
Yup
Amazing cute girl
Talented girL. Wonderrful.
I'd prefer a mic near the harp, was difficult to hear clearly
To be a harp student does one have to know how to read music?
Valerie Anderson if you are taking lessons and want to work on a professional repertoire, yes. It's quite easy to work on though!
Valerie Anderson YES!!!¡¡¡
Yes but reading music isn't that hard, anyone can learn!

What happened @ 8:07 - 13 ??
that child is not 6 years old. She is 8 or 9.
Where did she get those fingers?? So sad that she has stopped her harping career to be a nun.
Russia, please do not waste your marwellous resources!
essas crianças são genios.
Holy WOW. Thank you, Russia, for working so hard to preserve our culture. This is marvelous.
This is a sure way to keep little fingers busy at something good. Thanks for your work. I wish I could take a masterclass.

Classical music should always be child-friendly and inviting for young people as it is here.
That is talent.
