Hi guys!
Getting some comments about IVF / Catholicism and I thought I addressed that but in case I wasn’t clear enough, our timeline was this:
1. We did 1 (retrieval) cycle of IVF while we were Protestant Christians
2. We converted to Catholicism shortly after Charlie was born
3. We now have to transfer the remaining embryos from the cycle we did before becoming Catholic, otherwise they will be destroyed (they cannot be kept in storage forever, if that makes sense - eventually you must make a decision of what to do with them). That's why we will be doing IVF transfers now, even though the Catholic church is against IVF - because they have already been created.
I hope that clears things up! I realize we’re in a very unique situation! I also realize how unbelievably blessed we are to have had a relatively easy journey compared to many people. I hope you'll understand that my belief in what my church teaches is what guides my feelings about IVF now, but I certainly do not judge those who do IVF - that would make me a huge hypocrite. My prayers are with all of you who are going through infertility. xoxo
I found you from your IVF videos over 2 years ago when we found out we needed IVF ❤ I just completed my first cycle and am 5 weeks pregnant. I hope you never feel guilt about your fertility treatment. God brought you to that decision the same way he brought you to the faith and to your adorable son! I hope your health improves, I too have struggled with digestive issues and I know how crappy it can make your life. I remember probiotics helping you with skin issues in the past. I have healed both skin & gut problems (which are commonly linked) with fermented foods and kombucha. Just something to consider, although I'm sure you've already come across it in your research. Your videos helped me understand the process from a patient's point of view (as opposed to from a
Scientific view) so I could better support both my cousin and my best friend without annoying them with stupid questions.
My bestie now has a bubbly 1 year old boy but my poor cousin is still unsuccessful. She's currently saving money for the next cycle and she's also trying to get her health on track.
You are not struggling alone. You're just the bravest one to put yourself out there to let us know that WE are not struggling alone.

I also found you through your IVF videos! For me personally, it was just nice to see how the cycle worked from start to finish, because like you said in that video there weren't any informative videos like that out there! You only got to see transfer day and the testing day. It was a great resource for me, so please do not feel guilty about posting that video. In the end, everyone makes their own decisions :-) However, I also understand how some of those comments made you uncomfortable and why you took the video down. Good luck with your health issues and your future transfer! You are also correct that it is none of our business, so don't feel like you have to share.

Good luck with everything. You are amazing for going through your IVF and for being so honest. I also hope your health improves and I second all the comments about gut health. Maybe a holistic doctor might be able to help as well if you're into that type of thing. Hope you feel better and better!!

Your IVF video was so helpful with explaining the process to my mom, she still asks how your doing. Even though I am not religious I, like you, believe that they all deserve a chance. We were supposed to transfer our embryo this summer but our clinic closed permanently due to covid and we are having some financial issues. I guess somethings just don't go as planned. you are so so right Holly, your journey and your beliefs are absolutely no one's business but in sharing your story you will help so many find their own way with infertility, when unbelievably its still such a taboo subject in this day and age. So sorry to hear about your health issues, if they can't seem to find what it is consider getting an endoscopy done, which will show them exactly whats going in there. anyway hope you can some answers soon. you look great and i just love your new hairstyle. take care xxx

I started watching your videos when you started ivf cos that is when I started it.. after 6 failed transfers at still waiting for my success.. this is with more than 10 in storage.. lucky you that you’re on your second journey
I'm so sorry, Elvira. That is so so hard. I know I've been unbelievably blessed that it happened relatively easy for us compared to many. I really feel for you and pray that you will get your miracle baby

Hi Holly, I just wanted to tell you that I am a Catholic as well and also an IVF mom. We also have various frozen embryos and will use them all. My husband and I thought very long and hard about the moral implications of IVF (we have had been told for as long as we can remember that IVF was a sin). We just couldn't see how facilitating God's gift of life through medicine was a bad thing. One thought that kept coming to my mind was that God is almighty; there is absolutely no way that if His plan is for us not to be moms we can force him otherwise. In a sense, it's like saying that chemotherapy is going against God's will to bring someone to His presence. Anyhow.... sorry for the rant... Just wanted to say that I am with you, I feel your doubts and your questions and hope that your health gets better very soon!
