JohnStax, it is an EH since it is not JDM. People still call them EGs since the code is the most recognizable (not many people refer to these as EH Civics). The same goes for the EK.

JohnStax CDM and USDM carries the same Chassis codes we get certain models that were never made into production for the U.S. like the 92-95 Civic Si EJ1 and 96-00 Civic Si EM1 and the 99-00 Civic SIR EM1 these models were only sold to Canada meaning we received the higher up trim levels whereas the U.S. received the lower trims for the Accord cb7 90-93 and cd5 and cd7 94-97 we received the EX-R models similar to the EX models sold in the U.S. but different badging and for the 4th Generation Preludes we also received the SR-V BB1 whereas the U.S. received the Si preludes see the difference the cb7 90-91 Accords had Automatic seat belts for the U.S. models but the CDM cb7 90-91 Accords came equipped with AirBags and regular Manual seat belts
2:50 man if you don't have power steering you have to do that while moving, i don't mean like driving, but moving ever so slightly so that the steering feels lighter, it's something you will automatically do when you own a car for a while and get the hang of it
Michele when I was taking my drivers ed course during the behind the wheel section the instructor taught us to do it that way even with power steering because he said if you turn like that while not moving it wears out the tire unevenly in that particular spot 😂

That's half bullshit. It does wear but I would say it doesn't affect it. Most people don't drive like that also.
bruh driving a civic during winter with no power steering makes no difference because the steering is just as easy as with power steering because the wheels barely make any grip with the ground if the car is parked on snow/ice making the wheel easy to turn
God I just bought this and even moving it's painful. Parking and u turns is a bitch
My ej has no power steering yanked that shit out when I did my mini me swap..doesn't effect anything at all at least for me my wife hates that shit haha but that's ok it's a deterrent for people wanting to drive my shit Which I can't stand...n depending on what motor u have y7 or y8 speed wise it makes a huge difference but imo ANYTHING can be fast with the right driver that makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE.!!

I've owned my 94 EG Si for 20 years now. Of course I own other cars but it has a special place in my heart.

If you're in USA, easiest way to decipher a EG6 is body-colored mirrors and a sunroof (ala SI Hatchback) 🚗 - i have one
Si if someone doesn't have a sunroof (in USDM); it's a tell-tell sign it's not an EG or an EG6.
Some models are only available in certain markets, but in USA, EG6s are SI domain.

EJs - Coupes
EG6 - Big engined HB
EG5/4/3s - Small engined HB
Only a HB can be an EG6s- there are clubs that won't allow coupes for this reason (back to your 'BRO' comment) lol

Ej is also a hatch. Like i have a ej9 hatch and my friend has a ej2 coupe. And ej is 6th gen. Eg is 5th gen.
The Honda EG6 VTI is almost 30 years old but it is very beautiful looking and very fun to drive. It is purely a Japanese sport car, in few words it is simply fantastic...
This is the same Generation 5 Civic Bill Ford of Ford motor company was repeatedly ridiculing on the 6 O'clock news. In reality this is a VERY beautiful Civic! The vast amount of buyers of this 1992-95 Honda Civic love it!!!
I am not a fanboy. Time, sometimes it takes TIME to appreciate what you have there. It will never be fast it feels like it is going to fall apart when you hit 85, at 90 you have to power grip the wheel to keep straight at 115 (going down hill on a straight way) you can not hear your music, You can hear your life slipping away. If you had never heard voices in your head, you will hear it telling you that this spd is a mistake. the mpg is PHENOMENAL! the push start, even in reverse is impeccable. It can take a cow in a collision. You can disregard oil changes for a yr or two it will not disappoint you. To have owned one in the 90's to drive virtually anywhere on just 3/4 of a tank. to fill it up with a twenty and get change. It can not handle two lesbians on a drug binge in vegas for one night though. Unless you want to see your tires tucked underneath looking like a futuristic hover craft avoid lesbian drug binges. If you are thinking yellow go with a darker than standard mustard yellow. If you must go there, HARD TOP convertible. It will look like a mini truck. That old style hatch back has a tailgate. Show us something we have not seen yet.

The coupes are the EJ2 with the D15 and EJ1 with the D16.
The only true EGs we got in the US were the D15 sedans.
It's body code in japan is an eg6. This IS the greatest car ever made. The JDM headlights are plastic, owned these gen civics since 2000 (still have a vx model) never had any problems with the corner lights. I personally seeked out for non-power steering, less shit to go wrong, and when you get to that point just move an inch and hour and the steering wheel will turn with ease. Yes buy seat brackets made for aftermarket seats. Its not rocket science.

I've always liked the look of these, plus throwing a 9,500 RPM revving k-series engine with enough boost to take you to hell and back always sounded fun.
Not sure who taught you driving. But one of the first lessons, NEVER turn wheels when it's not moving! That's why it's harder and most importantly you'll brake the steering column or something connected
Dude,these really are the best cars,tough as nails. I have a red 92 SI hatch with 457 thousand kms on er,it gets the crap beaten out of it but keeps chugging along,starts at -42,no block heater or nothing plugged in at all. Just recently figured out that last year I blew an axle seal in winter when it was 42 below but I didn’t check until last week,over a year later,I drained it and only about a third of a litre came out,put a new seal in,shifts and drives like new again 🚗

Don't say the Civic isn't fast, it's one of, if not the most nimble cars you can get for less than supercar prices and on coilovers and semi slicks literally nothing will catch you in a tight road race
heyo as a european people here mainly mod out golfs and not civics, most civics here are cheap and almost all of the time full oem because its been driven by a soccer mom

The reason for the headlight and indicator glass/plastic you will find on 99% of all 90s cars. The prodcution of plastic headlights was not developed to a point where it was being put into production. While indicators that dont need light to fall in certains patterens were fine to be plastic.
I drive a civic. Never fast, it's quick... But that's about it.
You know whats got even weirder headlights? 2nd gen ram. The signal LOOKS like its a seprate part from the rest of the headlight, but its all connected? Why?
not gunna lie. i hated civics and people who mod them before watching your vids. now i dont LOVE them but i can at least respect them and honestly, they dont look too bad. i really love hatchbacks always have. ive been looking into finding one in Canada, but i dont need one like the so called "fanboys" have. i dont mind if it was stock, power steering and cruise control would be good. just love the look and shape of these cars.
Robbie, I am a VW/Audi enthusiast. I actually bought a EF hatch because it was 800$ and it came with a b20b/ys1 full swap. They are cheap as dirt and can make fun cars. Definitely not my least favorite car but I do hate the stigmatism that comes with owning a civic.

For the record, those headlights are NOT OEM, they are black housing headlights. One of the previous owners would have swapped them out. Explains why they are much better condition

An EG2 is a Del Sol. The japanese hatch is an EG6, That correct is an EH2 and the Civic Coupes are EJs
my main complaint about this video is that when I first got this exact model which we Americans call an eg cx I was like 100 pounds and I could drive it no problem by the way I’m a girl and I drove it when I was pregnant no issues manual rack & tranny lol it’s not all stock tho I have a jdm d15 in it which is a single cam its Milano and I fuckin hate red I want to re spray it midori cause it’s not a stock color until the ek body style which comes directly after it’s light af but I know it’s not fast ... still my favorite car over my 88 300zx

The vin number on your dash indicates Eg, ek, ef, etc. it’ll be part of that vin number. since the Japanese read the opposite of most other countries it’s in reverse 🔄 if that makes any sense. Hence how they were indicated and abbreviated in Japan.

I like my eg civic. Its a base model with a 1.8 supercharged swap. No ac or power steering. But with a nice, expensive suspension setup, it handles better than most sports cars I've driven.

I have an Evo 4 and I just bought an eg for 300 and I find it pretty fun to drive like almost Miata level (I’ve owned a Miata before) I also find it funny that people hate on the two because they the most fun cheap cars in my opinion
Why not make a bracket to adapt your side mount to a top mount for your rails? You bought universal rails so it's not like they're safe to begin with, plus you're never going to go fast enough to make that car dangerous since it's a Honda and all.

They made plastic ones so you have to buy more, kubota makes seal bearing that need changing because there isn’t a grease tit, so you have to spend 500$ to replace the whole damn thing.

I just keep mine stock. It has ac. power steering cruise control and all...but it s about the simple pleasure of driving. It feels like back then people were actually driving not attending the ride. I love also Fiat Unos , Renault 5 gtt so on fridge handling. Then again that's just me...

tman4life01 both are great Chassis for daily driving! Go with whichever YOU like! I myself though prefer the DC chassis( integra). The majority of parts from all three chassis are also interchangeable and the aftermarket support for those cars is limitless

to respond to your video stock eg/ek hatch d series is reliable gas saver, it is fast with a b series swap and stupid fast with a k series not to mention awd conversions turbo & supercharger set up you don't need power steering I swapped my headlights with aftermarket ones I have a prelude driver seat and 00 civic passenger seat running b18b1, for an all motor swap with no vtec state barred it's a quick daily driver people underestimate Honda For Life also it's a great feeling when driving and involving until you drive a swapped engine/ moded eg/ek hatchback civic you don't know what the feeling is like
One thing I prefere in Europe are the base EG model: that's the EG3 and that's better than an EH2 because the motor is a 1300 16 valve DOHC carburetor who product 75hp. That's very better than the EH2 1500 8 valve motor I think!

You see how hard it is to explain the very exact specific chassis code? Tyats why many of us classify each generation by one chassis code IE: 92-95 eg. 96-00 ek/em1.
My first Civic VX was "royal blue" (is what I call the color) and I loved that color. I'm thinking of painting my current Civic VX (second car) a combo of Miami blue and charcoal. Mclaren F1 orange and charcoal gray would also be cool. Try putting 40PSI in the front tires. It'll help with parallel parking etc.
I honestly think any color aside from purple or neon green would look pretty ok on this car, I'd be happy with any of the color choices.
