- Okay, so technically this is an EJ vs EH chassis comparison. But you didn’t come here to debate chassis codes. You came here to see which of these two chassis’s is faster than the other. We took my B16b Type R Swapped EK Honda Civic to VIR to compete against my buddy with his B18C Type R Swapped EG Honda Civic. This is one of the most fun videos that I think we've made, and I hope you enjoy it!

I’m not saying it would of done it better but never counter steer a fwd car when it it’s oversteering.
That low of a redline is completely killing his power band lol

@@boskobear they did it for parity, the b18c makes an extra 20hp in the upper end of the rev range, by limiting the rpms they both make the same power
SR22VET the problem is when the EG shifts he’s below the optimal power band, n/a Honda’s need to be kept higher in the rev range, that’s where all the power is
@@sleeper.simulant7327 i am aware of that, per shift it will most likely drop out of vtec range and therefore even slower than usual, that was also my initial thought, but as explained they did it for HP parity which still wouldn't be fair if he drops out of vtec every shift
@@sleeper.simulant7327 my secon thought is if he had a tuned ecu with lower vtec engagement, so its hard to say whether its a disadvantage or not

more like "we're gonna cut the legs off the tiger, so it's a fair battle", limiting redline on the EG makes no sense to me.

Basically, no one is scrubbing tires to warm them, or working with tire pressures.
That and lack of experience of how to control FWD when it get loose. Some autocross would help them both.
@RespectFreeSpeech GiveMeMuhFreedom while this is true, a rwd or awd car would also spin out if youre on the limit and you decide to lift off and turn in. rule number 1 for beginners is to brake with the wheels straight and rule number 2 is allways drive through corners on the throttle. if you lift off or even brake mid corner the car will most likely step out on you.
later down the line you will learn how to trail brake, heel toe and maybe even left food braking wich is mostly not neccessary on dry road courses tho.
Snap oversteer on FWD can be terrifying. Straighten the wheel and and get on the throttle.

Clutch in and look at where you want to go is the easier way to recover of you're inexperienced.
Not snap oversteer, thats lift throttle oversteer.

I really love the white Type R and I would love to have something like that. The magic of Honda is not how fast they are but how much you enjoy being in the drivers seat. I have a K20 SI and it's my favorite car I've ever owned. Reliable and fun. Great video!
That the point of a Honda it not how fast you go it's the amount of noise you can make and how good you look getting to where ever you are going

Oh boi... Ive got a 924s... I can assure you it is not fast, but boy is it fun!!!!! I cant imagine what it would feel like with a k24!!! (stock 924S/944 engines can make 200hp n/a btw... Thats what Im planning to do to mine, but I 100% support your swap dude :) )

lowering the rev limiter, prob messed with the gearing, and limited your powerband greatly.
you probably thought that was making your "experiment" more viiable, but should have taken into consideration the ek was stripped in the rear, and the eh had full interior and oem+ seats.
yeah with a 7,200 rpm redline, depending on what trans it, I can see it dropping out of VTEC easily, if it has a JDM 4.7 the 3rd to 4th gear drop would be worse too. I would tested them as is with no redline restriction on the b18c
e39Nate +1 on the rev limit and gearing, but the seats make no difference in weight to where it would be measurable. They didn’t really dive into what the EH2 had for suspension, and staggered tires are pretty garbage once you match the suspension to the power and weight. I’ve always preferred square on my DC2.
@@dancarlos1216 not for weight reasons, but for bolstering and being held in place, i'd take heavy seats that held you in place, over light ones that let you flop around.
@@dancarlos1216 my fg2 if i remove rear seats and passenger seat its 100pds off...but the eg is lighter then the ek so evening things a little bit..my rear seats are 38pds

If you’re going to gut the back of a civic, you still need the downforce from a rear wing to stabilize the back end
He's not gutted. Plenty of brutally fast EG's without rear wings, jacc's, seeker eg6, etc. rear interior is only worth 34lbs. While aero would help on a track like this I'm not so sure they would notice a huge difference until they perfect their lines and really understand FWD handling.

but the usability of the gearing in the eg is out the window.
The 2 engines have different torque curves well before max hp anyway .

I agree. It was a major handicap for the eg to limit its rev to 7200, especially when upper 1k rev means it will stay in VTEC on upshifts.
michael mcguire idiots. The b18 makes peak torque around 7000ish rpms.

My first and actual car is a Civic EJ1 swap B18C c: and it's so easy to drive it
Great car to learn from. Not the car I’d chose tho but to each their own. Living in the states with lots of long, straight, open streets, cars like miatas and civics aren’t as exciting to drive on the daily as their owner might try to convince you. That being said, they can be a blast in the canyons and since they’re cheap you won’t have to worry about being out an arm and leg if you crash or break one.

@david chappel he will freak out smiling when he will beat bigger engines..i have a stock engine k20 around 220whp and i took at least 20 350whp cars.. sti s bmws,350z,370z,g37,lexus,5.0s,trans am,still smiling everytimes i take it out
My first car at 18 was a 94 prelude Si and it was more than fast enough for my first car. I beat a few sn95 mustang GTs and gsr in it. It had some body roll but it handled good over all.

@@Brera_DRS not exactly what's your plan for it in the first place, I don't think it's a Daily Driver for sure. It's nimble and would most likely suit to be a weekend track day car or full on race car but in the end it will be your decision just sort out the factors
@@v8vince761 a real eg6? i have a track built eh2 and daily it, what does it being nimble have anything to do with it being a daily driver they get like 40mpgs stock and are reliable af, i'd be jealous of anyone who gets a 5th gen civic as a first car.

To be honest. I'm actually happy that you're going to keep the EK and do a K24 swap. I picked up an 8th gen SI 4 months ago and it's my first honda. Gotta say. I'm in love with the K-series motor. It got me wanting to pick up an EK hatch myself and do a K swap.
