Would be buying this for my dad if I didn't already buy a Steinhart! Looks great! Solar, so accuracy is a non issue. Great watch! I hope to see more solar watches in the future! Fantastic size as well. Really not a fan of 40 mm + watches
Hollow end links is definitely a shame at this price range though...

for a japanese company with asian anatomy, youd think they will come out with more smaller sized watches. cant believe they dont have a wide variety of under 40mm choices. im still waiting for a sub 38mm GS diver to be announced too.
as for the under 38mm affordable dive watches, besides this solar option, another great alternative is the Islander skx013 homage.

For that price, the bracelet is a disgrace. But that dial and bezel looks great.

I'm ok with the pressed metal clasp but yes, Seiko should have provided solid end links.

The whole bracelet is pretty horrible. It is comfortable but everything else is bad.

Beautiful watch and the more RUclips videos i watch, the more o want a different watch. First a few days ago wanted a SLX 013. But they are too expensive used on eBay. Then I see the Seiko 5 SRPD55 and looks like the SKX 007 but not a duvet watch and only 100mm and no screw down crowns, but for about $200. US.
So is this model a real divers watch and 200mm and replaced the SKX 013? Or are there more 38mm Seiko 5 that they released recently?

This is a true dive watch but I don't think it's meant as a direct replacement for the SKX013.

Vaer makes far better solar divers..Seiko has so many qc issues..not justifiable at any price range..microbrands have stepped up their games by miles..
