Hurricane Idalia is coming in the gulf today. We are not getting a direct hit but we are on the east side of the storm which makes it the worst side to be on because of storm surge and tornadoes! Hurricanes DO NOT just do damage where the eye hits! Hurricanes in the gulf riding up the coast can cause horrible damage from the storm bands. The storm surge is going to be bad everywhere because the storm is coming at high tide and we have a blue super moon at the same time! Please understand that hurricanes effect everyone near it.

We in Northern Michigan prepare for Blizzards/Ice Storms : Generator, Wood for the wood stove, a way to melt snow to drink and flush toilets, bear proof container for food outdoor a good snowblower, not usually a life threatening situation though 😢

Lol, my family grew up in Florida and now we're up north. Florida / the south isn't for everybody. We love all four seasons and the snow. Especially a white Christmas and New Year. Makes the holidays feel so magical ✨ . We still visit Florida for vacations, but by the time vacation is over... we're ready to be back up north!! So excited for Fall to come and Halloween where it's nice and cool.. it feels kind of spooky 👻 and the leaves are changing colors and falling off the trees.. it's so pretty 🍁 Love it!

Why do you guys risk your life and not evacuate? I understand you want to stay to protect your home, but isn’t your life more important then your house? You can replace your house, but not your life. You are more important then all your belongings. Please evacuate next time.
Because the rule is you hide from wind and run from water. The water and flooding was not a threat to us because it didn’t come up like it was supposed too. That’s why. I have a hamster and fish I am not going to leave then die.
