Abandoned Haunted Hospital? - Six Years Of Decay

- Опубликовано: 6 сен 2024
- It's not everyday that you stumble upon an abandoned hospital. This place was first discovered by Mike using Google maps. We weren't sure what it is until we arrived and even then it was a bit of a mystery. After filming, i did some digging and found out this place was used not only as a hospital, but as a treatment center for kids. It's only been abandoned for six years, but by the looks on the inside, you would think its been empty twice as long. This building also had an unusual layout as you will see later on as we enter the belly of this decaying structure. There's plans in place to rehab this location into apartments/living center, but as you will see in the video, that hasn't happened yet. Enjoy.
►Monticello Manor Hospital: goo.gl/NtTcdQ
Please Note: Exploring Abandoned locations can be dangerous. I don't condone or encourage anyone to enter an Abandoned structure. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal and when possible, i seek out permission. I simply go to document its history before it's gone and leave things the way I find them. I assume all the risks & responsibility in doing so. Please don't attempt to do this on your own.

After the Carbondale General Hospital closed , the building was acquired by Tri-County Human Services. The old patient rooms were used as offices and treatment rooms. They provided counseling and case management services to folks with psychological and developmental disabilities . Some time after the financial crises the Government of Pa led by Gov. Corbett started cutting funding for many programs. Tri-County started cutting staff and services. I think they moved to a smaller building downtown. I remember escorting many people here for services, and attended many training sessions there. I was shocked to see it in its present condition. I wasn't even aware it had been abandoned. How sad !
So glad to see you are using mask/ventilators to keep stuff out of your lungs from these places. I have thought, watching your other videos, that this would be a good idea. With so much decay you don't know what is in these old buildings. Protect yourselves!
Greed and mismanagement are responsible for so much waste and decay in the world. So sad. Mad kudos for wearing masks and gloves!! Drives me nuts when I see explorers in shorts and flip flops, with no masks or gloves, acting like they haven't a care in the world. Maybe it's my being a nurse that makes me cringe and envision those fools as future patients. Keep being the best at what you do!!
Thanks. Gotta lead by example.
JPVideos well you were at a hospital you could've stayed there for treatment of mold exposure lol
I used to be a nurse and I am the same way.
I'm not even there but gotta be full of rat crap and dust. Almost smell it myself
The wallpaper of the castle, was of the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. It’s located near the Austrian border, in Bavaria. It’s also the castle Disney modeled the Sleeping Beauty castle after. When my husband and I were stationed in Germany we visited the castle. Its breathtaking... you can either choose to ride up in a horse carriage or hike up, we chose to hike up to it.
With the exception of a few sentences that were missing, here is the wall writing at 23:10
How to really love a child
Be there. Say yes as often as possible. Let them bang on pots and pans. If they’re crabby, put them in water. If they’re unlovable, love yourself. Realize how important it is to be a child. Go to a movie theater in your pajamas. Read books out loud with joy. Invent pleasures together. Remember how really small they are. Giggle a lot. Surprise them. So I know when necessary. Teach feelings. Heal your own inner child. Hug trees together. Bake a cake and eat it. Go find elephants and kiss them. Learn to build a rocket ship. Make lots of forts with blankets. Let your angel fly. Reveal your own dreams. Search out the positive. Keep the gleam in your eye. Mail letters to God. Encourage silly. Plant licorice in your garden. Open up. Stop yelling. Express your love. A lot. Speak kindly. Paint their tennis shoes. Handle with caring.
Children are miraculous.
Love, love, love
So much deterioration in six years! Hard to believe it will be turned into ANTHING at this point ...sad. Great explore ..my opinion ..as a nurse. Paranormal activity is especially prevalent in mental health facilities.
Something was definitely going on in the basement.
I looked online for the Admiral tv you discovered in the 1931 abandoned hospital and the best guess I have is 1950-1960. A tv historian or collector may be able to further narrow down the actual date for you. What I liked about this video was the deeper you went the better the shape the building was in. And I've never seen such a massive hot water tank either! The 5 foot exhaust pipe looked big enough to choke the intakes on an Airbus A380 which are colossal passenger planes!
Yeah, this place really surprised us. I loved the lower floors.
Thank you for giving a history on the different buildings you look through. Also, people like me enjoy longer videos! I watch those first. Thanks!!
You're welcome
The old parts have stood the pasting of time the entrance wall and the tiled walls but the more recent not just goes to show about workmanship. Lovely big building and great photo shots with music at the end very professional thank you xx
Thanks guys, it was really cool to get to hang out with you live. Another abandoned hospital, there seems to be a wealth of hospitals and asylums that are now standing in ruins and abandoned. Thank you for sharing and taking us along on the adventure. x
Glad you were able to join us.
Talked myself into one more cup of coffee before I head out to take on the 4 inches of snow that happened here over night.
This was a great video Especially when you mentioned the paranormal. I was wondering if there were any vibes happening from inside there. I am a total believer. This building was huge. I can not imagine the work to repair it. Just cleaning it up seems daunting. The crunching glass under your feet. Sad it was not only ravaged by time and elements but vandalism too.
Just came across your channel here. Anxious to go back and see more. Thanks for your time and efforts to post these.
You won't be sorry....I got hooked during the summer and went on a JPV Marathon... LOL...enjoyed every minute. ( can you tell I'm a big fan ? : )
OHHH I guess it was you that I followed the link from. He , JPvideos, is GREAT . Been watching him on and off all day while I work on my mosaic bathroom counter.
Thanks for watching chris. This place definitely had some unexpected surprises.
Hey Jay! I loved exploring this building. I could tell during the tour that it was a dated building. That main entrance really put the icing on the cake. Too bad all that space is being left to decay. Housing and all types of uses are going to waste. Such a shame. Great vid Jay! Thanks!!
Ty for watching
That bottom basement furnace room was CREEPY. Maybe they burned bodies in there or something. That's when your lights seemed to go out. Evil people in the world. I wouldn't want to go into a place like that. I wouldn't even go in there if you paid me. Nice to see you guys show us what those places are like, but CREEPY.
Was a bit weird.
I wondered the same exact thing... those furnaces seemed like they burned bodies. I wonder if his lights continued to work when he got out of there or were the batteries dead. So curious!
@@CoffeeTeaWithSusan Weird PLACE. Gave me the Creeps. Maybe JP will let us know.
Lol! No, it takes A Lot of heat to burn a body entirely. Many of these asylums had their own morgues in which they did autopsies. You'll know if you see morgue trays or the units for them. Not to say crazed killers didn't rid of corpses. I've seen morgues in these places and this is not one.
Really amazing building, love to see old stuff like this.
Most likely the twisted metal coils look like the out side of electrical conduits that someone took out the copper wire.
Awesome vid as usual. Give it 2 thumbs up! Vandalism is useless, 7:00 they wrote vandals on the wall...give em a broom and dust pan. Interesting brickwork at 11:26, arch and keystone above the windows. Weird with the lights... Keep up the good work!!
Thanks!
Around 25:00 it appears to be a data center. It would be the place where all computer data would be stored.
Ah ,ok
I was going to say it is akin to a very old ( for technology) external hard drive lol
The panel at 25:00 all that is the phone network, terminals and switching controllers. Looks to be over 300 lines or extensions. Modern stuff is over IP address and office phones connect via Ethernet cable. That stuff is all hardwired, screams early 90s
2 thumbs up for wearing mask.
At least the belongingings were mostly all removed from this old decaying place. Unlike, so many we often see where everything from medical records to all the hospital equipment, hospital supplies records, etc. are so often abandoned (well except for that piano and a few pieces of office equipment, chairs) they are always abandoned for some ignorant, lazy money wasting purpose? I was surprised to see all that pink tile lining the walls. That's usually used for rest rooms. No orbs in this one. Spooky place, you guys have um "guts" of steel . I love it!!!!! The spookier the more excitement. Decay at end was awesomely artistic, in it's own way. So glad you use precautions. Just never know what could show up in 9 months. Lol thanks for sharing. Enjoy the heck out of your videos!!! On to the next one. Be safe.
P€A¢€~n~£0V€
Thanks so much tricia
Sad that something couldn't have been done before detoriation or vandalism took over
Crazy to think how much can happen in only 6 years. The peeling paint on those walls looks insane.
Once water gets inside, its downhill.
I loved this one. I'm a nurse and love the hospital but I also know that many people died there as they do in hospitals and then there is the morgue/autopsy room.
I filmed two other hospitals as well. Each one creepier than the next.
The hospitals are creepy to me because yes, although many people were healed, many people came in either by trauma, illness or by choice to have surgery and never left for some terrible reason. Only a licensed nurse can take a body to the morgue and I worked nightshirt for many years. If you ever see a nurse (stethoscope and name tag) pushing a tall linen cart, there is a body in there. They don't pay nurses to push the linen. I passed people sometimes in the hallway if visitors were leaving late or early in the morning. Security would meet me down there.
Reminder is on.....ready and waiting ...."see" you there : )
Electrical room. I worked in nursing home for 20 yrs. I have seen those rooms before
I am so bummed. I missed it. My bell is on but for some reason I didn't get a notification. Can't wait to watch this later tonight regardless. Thank you, JP
Sorry you missed it.
Hate that people have to destroy structures like this. Makes no sense. Cool vid tho. I've become a nerd for this kind of stuff. 🤓
Nerd away haha
and now my Friday is perfect....
Yes!
Cool find! My favorite parts were the lower levels. The vandals had a field day in that main building.
They really ruined it.
Awesome upcoming event! Got my popcorn n soda ready
OK after the second light died on you I would have been out of there fast!! SPOOKY !!
Yeah, was a little weird. Said it was time to go lol.
Its hard to believe that this place was still open in 2012. It looks so much older, it must of been a crappy building to work in during that time period when it started going towards the decay. Im sure that in its prime when this building was taken care of it really was nice. Looks like over time this building didn't get the care and updating that it should of had.. 35:10... ohh noo
You guys do a great job ! Very good work loce the stair well photo at the end so many neat things so sad all the vandalism loved tge music at the end also nice touch so much history in this place and i totally get the batterys going dead on your lights they say spirts and such can do that you do a great job with your videos great pictures also mike you guys make me feel like i am right there with you keep up the great work !
Thanks for joining along robert!
*I have seen scary/freaky things on exploration videos only 2 times. 1) I guy exploring a farm that had been abandoned for many years came upon the the barn which was already falling apart and part of the floor had collapsed into the basement. When he checked there was the decapitated corpse of a dog. The dog didn't looked like it had been there for too long. The head could not be seen. The guy freaked out and left the area in a hurry. 2) a guy while exploring a house that had been abandoned found a room that looked very secluded. While he was walking towards that room an orb started following him all the way to that room.*
What blockhead paints tile...? SMH. I actually liked the old Brother business desk phone. I enjoyed this a lot. The multiple uses make it tough to understand the original uses of the spaces. I can’t imagine reusing this again. I would hope it would be taken down to foundations first. Really cool guys!!!
Thanks heather. Plans are to save some of the structure and build new for living spaces.
Awesome video!! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome
Really enjoyed this video I am sure the TV dates from 1967 to the 70S, The rooms with the ceramic tiles were amazing Maybe they were located where they did surgery on patients Cuz ceramic tiles are good for anti-bacterial that combat bacteria and reduce the level of pollutants in the air.Say hi to the Google King for me lol Thank you for the great video Have a great weekend :)
Thanks sandra
I honestly could do an all day video lol
LOVED the elevator effects, maybe you're beginning to discover hidden talents in the visual effects field? Some Hollywood producer is going to call you up and in your biography you can write about your life prior to your fame... From the study.... In your mansion.
Lol. Great video, loved it. So how long should those lights have lasted for vs how long they did last?
Haha, one can dream. Basically the lights are supposed to dim with low power before cutting out. I typically get 2 or more hours out of them.
Nice exploration, thank you for sharing and kudos to you for wearing protective equipment! Looking forward to more from your channel. Have a great weekend!
You too sue
Safety first! That’s one thing we lack on our channel is a mask, but good job with yours👍 hopefully one day we can put out great content like you! Keep it up man, you’ve earned a sub!
In our town we have a famous hospital called Pinderfields .. it was knocked down and rebuilt some years ago but the old hospital was so much better than the new one .. more beds and more services. It looks more like an airport as the floors are called gates its silly really. I dont like it i have to go there sometimes as i have an illness that causes ulcerated legs .. i liked the older one the best. Its a shame they leave them abandoned .. when we saw another local hospital had been closed down it was sad to see also it was a good hospital called Clayton .. it just got all graffiti and damaged like all the abandoned building do .. wonderful explore and i love it when you put sound in as if a phone is ringing and the elevator sound is cool haha xx
I like the sound effects too
At 25:08 was remnants of a phone system, mostly 66 punchdown blocks on the wall, and the cabinet with the few remaining circuit boards was a PBX system that connected to all that wiring.
The pink level reminds me of old radiology dept. that the older hospitals used to have. They were usually green or pink. Emory University hospital still has older levels like this with colored tiles.
Ah, interesting
Keep up the great work....
Thanks!
Basement makes my skin crawl. Too creepy. Love your sound effects.
Ty
there is something ominous about a single chair in the middle of an empty room.
Its such an iconic thing find a lonely chair in abandoned places.
If that's only 6 year's of decay, I can only imagine what it looked like occupied
Exactly what I was thinking
When we think ‘only 6 years?’ It should be in good condition still. What we don’t take into consideration is that the windows and doors are open. The weather that comes inside rapidly ages and destroys the insides of the building.
I noticed toward the end of video inside possibly a maintenance department their were twisted metal structure beams then you mentioned about batteries being low then getting power back,it seems like ghost activity to me but the twisted metal still is a mystery.
thak you for continuing even though you might confront Pepe Lepue
😁
If they want to use that place for a senior living they got a lot of work ahead of them. That will be costly.
Most will have to be torn down.
18:30 That's a 1964 Admiral Playmate television
First time i ever saw one like that. Thanks for the info again haha.
Does anyone else notice something sticking out from behind the doorframe at 34:47? Almost looks like a hand or foot. If you slow it down you can actually see it move when the camera pans. It might just be something on the floor, but the fact that the lights went out a few moments later in the same room makes me think otherwise.
That is literally 5 minutes from where I live! So neat, I've never seen on the inside, they are planning on turning it into apartments as far as I know sometime this year.
They need to rip it down soon. Pretty bad shape.

I found this explore to be quite disturbing - not 100% sure why - but the stairwell was creepy, the open elevator shaft was creepy, the accelerated rate of decay was creepy, and holy cow - losing your lights like that!! Yikes!! There's a reason I'm an armchair explorer lol!
It only got creepy once we headed downstairs. Was still a neat explore.
For some reason it just gave off an unsettling vibe to me - and I wasn't really there! As always, thanks for bringing us along.
Awesome job guys! Nice to see, interesting.
I thought for sure you were going to run into some vandals in that place. Apparently they have spent a lot of time in there destroying things. Too bad they have nothing better to do. Another excellent video you created.
Just wanted to say your RUclips Channel is my favourite. Love your videos, keep up the good work. Love from the UK
Thank you zoe
Weird panel was a telephone line switch board. And the other odd thing appears to be a server.
You might want to check out Carraway hospital in B'ham Alabama. Another great exploration.
Great find you guys!
Thanks sammie
This place seems so familiar
So sad that the building has been destroyed inside. It's a shame that some one can't help the homeless to give them a place to live.
Could the place be any pinker? Thanks for another great video.
More than enough pink for me.
Sale!
Or some genius Decided it was Soothing
I live in England. I have spent the last few days watching your videos. I am so jealous that you get to see so many abandoned places. I am grateful to you for making these videos. I like your commentary, your research and knowledge. I am intrigued by the house you did a part 2 on. You went with Robin? Is there any way to get a backstory of the places you visit? Thanks again, and keep the videos going.
Part 2 is out where i visited the attic. Sometimes there's a backstory. Other times not. For that house, we learned that the people died from cancer from a contaminated landfill behind the home.
I reckon the male of the house was a hoarded. All the stuff in there looked like it was from the tip behind the house? What do you reckon ?
Another good video...well done JP and Mike !!! Keep up the good work... :0)
Thanks!
well, we all know where Satan hangs out now So if you're looking for him to fight or maybe shoot him or just to maybe hang with him this is where he chills.
Secret revealed.
hahahahahahaha@@JPVideos81
It amazes me that, people have to destroy structures like this. Like the young lady said and I quote "I'm a ners for this kinda. 🧐
Ok bro... Reminder is set. Can't believe I just got this🤔
Awesome video you guys!!! It's a shame the have money to rebuild and nothing has been done ... it's even worse that it ended up this way because people just didn't care! But thank you again for your wonderful video, love to watch them !!!
🙂
Thanks for another interesting video! Can’t believe the decay and destruction that’s happened over the last five years. It’s sad what vandals will do.
Sad that it cant be left alone.
Another interesting video. I am kind of disappointed in Satan, I would think he'd take better care of his hangout.
Haha, guess he's lazy.
I do hope building so gonna be used leaving it is a terrible waste. Really enjoying video
I still can't believe this is only 6 years of decay. Thanks JP and Mike👑 the King of Google maps for another great video As Always Shell Yeah 🖒🐢
Cool vid. Jp. Thanks for sharing
You're very welcome
I like these kind of videos it was eerie and creepy but I have a request if the building is still there can you do a Night Time walkthrough I think that would be so cool at night time.
Possibly
Great video! I work at a hospital/nursing home! Some things look familiar! Small rooms are typical for those facilities! Thank you for sharing! 👍
Ty for sharing
that was cool i'm surprised you didn't find a morge
I like this... I thank y'all should do more... I live watching your shows first time watching today..
We do lots. Just check my abandoned remains playlist.
Hey. jP great video. Have a great weekend.
You too
That’s awesome. The creepier the better🌵🌵
☠👻
It's very cool place to see
Enjoyed the explore ....glad to see Mike was with you ( and on chat ) .What a mess. Could you tell if the roof leaked ? I wonder why so much moisture and peeling paint ( was it near a river ? )The place was a lot bigger than it looked at first .Loved the still shots too..good job as always. Like I said on chat , I like your hoodie. I loved our Gander Mt. store and hated for it to close last year. You had a good turn-out of viewers for the premier : ) ...I really like your " fan base "..good people . Stay safe this weekend....and maybe stay warm inside with the family and some hot chocolate........54 thousand subs now ....wow !
Roof had a few bad spots. Mostly every window was broken though. Lots of great viewers including yourself. I will be staying in this weekend editing some videos.
@@JPVideos81 Sounds like a plan : -)
I’m a new subscriber. I absolutely love your videos- I even got a notification that you uploaded a new video today! 😍 that basement- all I could think about was a furnace- for bodies!! 😳😳 Lol I’m glad you guys respected the building and it’s residents- pretty sure you got a big enough warning to wrap it up 😂
The basement had too many weird things going on to stick around. Glad you found my channel.
Excellent video JP
Thank you my friend.
Great photos Mike!! Great explore!! Thanks!!!
It sure didn't take vandals long to totally destroy this building! It's crazy how the ceilings were lowered and the preexisting lights, etc.were left in place when renovations were done.
Yeah, its like they were covering up the past
My new favorite channel! Glaf i found you guys. You give a creepy interesting apmostphore. I like it
Thank you
That big thing in the basement and the thing that looked like an old phone box was a mainframe computer mostly for networking and storage definitely been stripped for parts lots of copper
That big thing *was* a phone system - The cards had mostly been stripped out. The "system design worksheet" dated from 1980 would mean it was likely an AT&T Dimension PBX. 10-15 years prior and it would have been a cord-board. Probably the most interesting and collectable thing in that building. Was probably working until closure.
As always, a great video.
Ty
JPVideos 😺😺
EARTH ANGEL😇 Interesting; but I feel a lot of despair coming from there. Half hour from. Us once stood DANVERS state hospital ,for mentally handicapped people, terrible stories came out of there!! RAZED. You never really know what’s going on in these types of “hospitals “! This place was really cleaned out,Glad you wore a 😷 mask! Homeless may stay here at times.🤔 Art Deco black/white bathroom, and”LOVE” 💕those pink tiles!🤣 NO, you wouldn’t want to get caught down there with NO lights!!!😳 👍😎😷😍👍 thanks for sharing!
This place sent chills up my back. So very creepy. I am hoping you kept those respirators on the whole time. So very contaminated. Makes you wonder what was the demise of this hospital? What was the reason for its closing?
Lack of patients and funding. Newer hospital built a few miles away.
@@JPVideos81 wow. I hope someone will restore it someday.
oh thank God you are wearing masks. Thank you! Don't wanna lose you to something terrible like cancer. Love ya, Jay!
💙
Again, a lot of emotions and feelings are probably trapped in the very foundation of this building. Did you get any sense of being followed or watched while you were in there? If there is activity there, I would bet it picks up at night.
Neat place to explore. That castle on the wall is in Germany.
Awesome
Sometimes ceilings are dropped for energy savings. Those high ceilings even in old home can make a huge heating bill. Also, in hospital sometime there will be extra drop of 'clean room' tile. It used to be more for sterile areas (operation room, labs, emergency rooms). Enjoy all your videos!!
Interesting, thanks
Watched again....chilling experience with the lights. You should go back with all your ghost gear. Maybe they incinerated bodies in that furnace thing.....did hospitals do that back in the day?
They might of and thats a good idea
Awesome explore!👍
Ty
Great video guys! Goes to show what vandalism and mother nature can do.
Very true. The rot and decay was extremely accelerated inside here.
Thank you for sharing , as always , a great video ...😍
