My liquor store suggested R.L. Seale and Doorlys XO as I was getting more into rums. They are both very good. The Doorlys XO is great for the price. The R.L. Seale 12yr is just plain great!
But if you don't like rum, which rum should you drink? Maybe one of these. Asking rhetorically, because I love rum and don't have any friends who don't like it either. I've been drinking a lot of Scryer Rum, which I believe is pot distilled at Foursquare and finished in port and sherry casks in Puerto Rico that comes in at a fun and very drinkable 45.6% abv. Hopefully they'll start selling it in the states soon. Check them out if you go to PR.
Fun tasting video Pete. I knew of Richard Seale, but hadn't realized his family has been into distilling for so many generations. Guess I need to pick up that book!
That voice over had me in stitches so fun!!! Love higher proof rum (or spirits in general) allows to add some water to dial in the flavours to your liking.
Glad you enjoyed it! In general I'm a fan of high proof spirits. They just have been causing me some issues lately. I have been gravitating to some easier stuff lately, Cheers! Stephane!!
PETE!! So you DON'T recommend an split base OFTD/Wray and Nephew Old Fashioned???? Anywho, this was a great video and I actually learned something!!! Loved the voice over!!! CHEERS!!!!

Auntie Susan! The voiceover tasting notes were amazing. "It really tastes...a lot...like...rum". Otherwise, agree, Corn and Oil is great.
