    OReilly's biggest strength is his tendency to interrupt his guests when they are making a point.

      Yeah it's a dirty trick, but when you're not playing with a full deck of cards you does what's ya can...funnily enough, I was thinking that Maher's deliberate pause after the question was posed was clever because it took that particular wind out of O'Rielly's sails. It might have just been latency tho...nevertheless, O'Reilly warriors take note!

      Not really, just the ones run by bigots. They have to stoop to logical fallacies and mind games to try and win an argument when they're arguing against logic and reason.

    • @smilingmaskedturtle1
      @smilingmaskedturtle1 9 лет назад +1

      He's not partisan if you bother to pay attention. Is he liberal, yes. Does he swing to the left, yes. In a country that has essentially only two real political parties, it makes sense he sides with the Democrats, but Bill is a realist, and identifies that both parties are flawed, which is why he's an independent. He's not a Democrat, even more so now.

      TheComputec He doesnt always talk shit. I think that when he does its to get the people or the subject hes debating to show their true colors. everyone has an agenda, we all have something that motivates us. I think he likes to be correct when in a debate, which is why he tries to dig out the truth. Does he always get it right? No, but nobody does. He does better than a lot tho. The winner in these debates is us, the viewer, because we get to see a variety of perspectives and then make our own decisions.

I agree that his knowledge and scope is limited but I still think it's refreshing to hear him call this country out on all the bullshit. Him, like a lot of people, are sick of all of these back-peddling ideologies. Big business, big profits, broken political system, brainwashed religion, perpetual war , and just downright hypocrisy in this country. He doesn't have a lot of the answers but at least he sees some of the problems.

    O'Reilly would never agree to enlist in the US army if we told him you are going to fight on the front lines in Iraq or Afghanistan. Case closed. He avoided fighting in Vietnam. He is the exact right age. He could have easily decided to fight in that war. He did not. If he admitted that, I would say go ahead and say whatever you want. He won't. It makes him look like a coward. I am conservative and agree with OReilly in many areas. Just once on his show when he has US soldiers on the show he should say yes I could have decided to fight for the USA in the Vietnam war. I did not. I chose to... ...instead, and I avoided fighting in Vietnam. Then go ahead and say what ever you want OReilly about US soldiers and wars. That statement by Oreilly should be made by him on his show. He will never admit it. For this, he is a coward.

    Hello, Back when this video spot was taken, I would have agreed with Bill Maher as kicking OReilly's ass being a loyal Democrat no matter what.. But today I think OReilly is sooo correct. There is no difference between Democrat and Republican. They are the same no matter which one you vote for in an election. We need a third party so bad now---its not funny anymore. Neither party is serving the needs of the people.

    • @dentonfender8872
      @dentonfender8872 10 лет назад +1

      ***** True! I am not female. I agree with most of what Bill Maher states on his HBO show. I can't stand Fox so-called News, but this one time O'Rielly is ringing some big truth that there is little difference between the two parties. The two parties 'pretend' to be left and right of each other, but they are not. They continue to emphasize "smoke screen" issues such as Gay marriage, anti women, and Abortion. When it comes to important issues they pretty much follow the same lines and vote that way. The two parties quickly got together when they took away the political debates from the League of Women Voters organization back in the eighty's, and eliminated the Fairness Doctrine through the FCC that insisted fair reporting of political news. They have all but crippled the chance of any third parties getting air time in the media. On top of that Bill O'Rielly works for a company who's CEO has lived for years in Beijing, Red China, a police state. Fox so-called News represents the wealthy here and in Red China that have a steak in moving millions of American middle class jobs to a country with super cheap labor, and international oil companies that are making big bucks selling oil at discounted prices to Red China. Oil produced from Iraq that should have been used to lower the price of gas at the pump here in the USA. It was our tax dollars and soldiers who paid with their lives to secure that second largest oil reserve in the world, and the oil goes to that lousy police state of red china. Fox so-called News could give a damn about U.S. citizens, its soldiers in the field, and its economy. The oil pipe line that is being built from Canada to Texas will give temporary jobs to Americans, but once built, the oil will go to other countries and will not help lower the price of gas at the pump in the USA. The oil companies making all this money will not invest it in the USA.

    • @GoddessFourWinds
      @GoddessFourWinds 10 лет назад

      Denton Fender FOX News is so far right, it isn't even funny. And you've left out the whole issue of the ACA. It may have once been an issue supported by both the left and the right, but now that it's Obama's baby, the Republican's can stand it and don't mind wasting a shit-ton of money on it. Over and over and over. And it's nice to know you think equal rights and women's issues are minor. Things that *should be* minor affect more than half of our population. Daily and in ways that are often detrimental. But, hey. It's all good as long everyone else is okay, right?

    I like this Bill O'Reilly. Where can we get more of that?
    One thing I'd debate him on though - the "progressive philosophy" - care to explain that? No major changes? I mean, the 80's and 90's were a major change from the 60's and 70's. You can keep going down that train of thought.
    That's like saying people should stop going to the gym and working out because they're afraid of progress. I mean, who would actually want to lose some weight and get in better shape? Ahhhh!!! Scary ideas!!!
    Progress is the #1 motivator for most people - having some sense of purpose, moving towards something. Fear of loss is another big motivator. If you can't unite the people for a common vision, then you use scare tactics and fear-mongering vis a vis perpetual boogeymen (i.e. Commies, Radical Islamists, etc.) Heave forbid we look in the mirror and point the finger at ourselves!

      Bill Mahr could go on a rampage, he does it every week on Real Time, but he dosent, because like he has said many times before, it useless to argue with people like Bill OReilly, because they live in the bubble and will keep refusing whatever he will say.
