As a young metalhead in the 80s there were few new wave songs I admitted to liking, but I would tell anyone I loved this song and It's My Life by Talk Talk.
I grew up in the 80s Punk scene and love the Twins
I was something of a metalhead but I loved the Twins, Duran Duran, Level 42 etc. All of them were great songwriters and musicians.
Don't remember the Talk Talk one, but this song I definitely loved - I just didn't tell my mates that I did!

"No Doubt" made their own cover version of it's my life
Takes me back. A child of the 80’s
I love when you two reach back into the oldies music! It brings back so many memories and things I have forgotten to remember. Being an oldie myself I can tell you...
Music truly is the language of memories & emotions!
My kids use to love this song…. word for word! Then of course mom learned the words too! “Hold me now” “Hold my heart!” Cute song!
I remember cruising down the highway in route to the Smoky Mountains in dads Le Car. Just got my license and it was 1am in the morning when this came on the radio. Very memorable backpacking trip.
Mentioning the Le Car made my chuckle a bit. I can now hear that commercial in my head
Awesome!! Sounds very memorable! I don't think I would be able to stay awake until 1AM...the latest I can stay up to is around 9PM! LOL! Thanks for sharing! -Mia \m/
I love this one! I started singing it, when I saw the thumbnail and the name of the song. I had not even pushed play yet! LOL Doctor Doctor is another one you should listen to by them.
LOL!
@@danasfaith5738 Also, ' Love on your side', by them.
@@stephenderbyshire7849 Every hit they had was great.
Nice to see you've mastered the art of "chair dancing".
After a ton of very effective practice (other very good songs) we have been able to make it this far! LOL! Thanks for making me laugh! -Mia \m/
Now ,I was born in 1975. I really appreciate these videos by you two and others. They make me pay attention to the details of the songs that I may have missed. Also, when I'm alone, I have companions to listen with. You guys are great and thanks!
these two girls really get this song, it's a sad song but listening to it makes you feel very good. The 3 members of te band are likeable and the arrangemets are spot on and clever
Man, I remember listening to this song during art class. The teacher had a radio and we listened to it while doing our art projects. I was like 14.

This was a huge hit. The bass makes this song I think. The lyrics are great and the lead singer has such a great tone. This video was played constantly on tv

Your reactions are so delightful and honest
Thank you Michael!
Juliet and Mia, you'll love their "In the Name of Love", "You Take Me Up" and "Lies"!!! I saw them in concert April 1984. The first band I saw that used wireless headphones!
A great band and song….this song has so many memories attached to it!
Fun tune! Very danceable I saw them at Red Rocks in Colorado and it was a total blast! All this '80s stuff is making me feel nostalgic😁 Thank you ladies!
Thank YOU for sharing this with us! That sounds awesome! I wish Juliet and I could've gone! -Mia \m/
The extended version is really great all the way to the end their album of extended versions is fantastic I was a Rush Pink Floyd fan but loved dancing to the Thompson Twins
This is one of my all-time favorite songs, and I loved your reaction! 💕
Is your mom a GenXer? In her 40s? Many of us loved New wave music when we were kids ('80s) 😆. My kids like it, too. Lot of new wave songs are kind of melancholy, happy sad. Hard to explain, but yall were right. Lol. We just danced to it.
Oh my, this song takes me back to my teenage years. I recall when hearing this song for the first time. New Wave music was starting to become popular in the early 80's and Thompson Twins were a big part of it. I always enjoyed listening to this song and singing along to it. They did put out some great music. Loved watching the two of you getting into the groove. Another great video reaction!!! Love & Blessings! 💗
No pressure to attend. I did not want to break my promise to remind you : ) ruclips.net/channel/UCqGvDbkw1cIKyrNp0Px9S_wcommunity
I was in my 20s and I remember hearing "Thieves Like Us" by New Order for the first time in Virgin Records in Victoria London.
@@lewisner I just love New Order! One of the best groups from the New Wave Era! 👍
"Doctor, Doctor" is also good.
Well done girls, this song was prevalent,in my early teenage years, made me cry ,just simply because,i knew where i was and what i was doing at the time,im now 54,i have no idea where the time has gone!
Makes me reminisce of the good times in the 80,s
Live your lives girls, grab every opportunity that comes your way,and be happy, because one day,you will both blink, and you will be in your 50,s too
Time goes too fast, enjoy it while you can, bravo girls 👍👍👍👍
The percussion kit was one of the most unusual ever.. it is responsible for some of the different sounds you were hearing. Great reaction BTW!!!
Wow! Thank you for letting us know! It sure was very unique! -Mia \m/
This is one of the best Songs ever made! Thanks Girls:)Tip from me: The Stranglers Skin Deep (1984)

One of my fave 80s songs! Killer bass line ♥
Yes you are right, the Bass is the Force but the whole Song is epiphany
80's did a good job of making some sad lyrics sound happy. Simple Minds with Don't You and almost any New Order song.
Welcome aboard, young ladies! Yes, this is wonderful, the two of you getting to experience the new wave music of the 80's. I still have three of the Thompson Twins albums, and occasionally , I give them a listen to.
My favorite 80's New Wave song
Wow this brings back memories of my college days seeing them along with The Tubes and Otis Day and the Knights at our Spring Festival at UMass a long time ago
I am a rocker for sure, love me some 80s heavy metal but I admit I really like this song. You 2 should react to When in Rome - The Promise, you will love it!! Looking forward to seeing that video! My wife and I, that is our song!
Always loved the bass in this song ❤️✌️
You girls are so adorable! Yes, the song is a little sad but the music is very joyful so it makes up for it. I enjoyed your reaction!
Along with depeche mode, this band, the smiths, the cure, are the definition of the 80,s a fantastic time to be a teenager!
Yes, the singer if fing gorgeous!

Into the Gap: 1984 album. Was and Still a good album by Thompson Twins. Brings back a lot of good memories. I was a 9th grader then. You girls bring back tears 😭 to my eyes and reminds me when I was your age at the time. “Keep up the good work” ✌️😢🙏😇👍

Hi, Mia and Juliet 😃
Thank so very much by sharing this with all people out in the world, who had this lucky chance to grow up in the '80s .
That song throws me back (and I hope many many others too) to a time, when life was easy and not that complicated like in those days .
Weekends were planned for parties or concerts .
Here in Germany, in the first half of the '80s, shops were opened from 09:00 am to 06:30 pm over the week .
Saturdays from 09:00 am to 01:00 pm .
Anyone remembers ?
I guess, everybody remembers its time in its century . 🙂😀😄 👍👍👍👍👍
Had the pleasure of visiting your wonderful country (Munich) in the Summer of 1989..Worked in a factory for a few months with 5 others (all Irish) with differing levels of German between us. It didn't matter. We were welcomed with open arms. Memories of Euro '88 we're still strong obviously. Sadly we won't be returning in 2024..
Thompson Twins forever!!!!
Yay! 😜
The girl in the band that was his girlfriend at the Time is love interest. She broke up with him, but they remain in the band he wrote the song for her.
Do next these other's super hits from them : "Doctor doctor" & "Love on your side"
I love you my little cheris rock girls, saludos mis amiguitas, desde México :)
I love this song from Thompson Twins, is that a Black Widow guitar behind you Juliet? It looks like 1. Love your reactions, both of you.
One of my favorite 80s one hit wonders of all time great choice
This was their best known song but they were not a one hit wonder. They had another top 10 hit and several more top 40 hits in the U.S.
wonderful video guys!! and the review really made me cry hahaha, like i felt what u guys felt but i didnt know how to put it in words! the song is one of my favs!!!!!!
Girls you weren't the only ones dancing!
The Thompson Twins were also dancing!
Lol! So it's OK.
A DF reaction everyday? Life is good! Wonderful singing by the Great 1's! Thompson Twins wasn't bad either. btw..turning on notifications really makes life easier. YEE!!!

Stay in the 80’s for a bit. Psychedelic Furs, Joe Jackson, Men At Work, Howard Jones, Culture Club, and Flock of Seagulls.
The falsetto part of the song was epic.
This was kind of a theme in our early relationship, and we've now been together for over 50 years
Love you two for doing the best... Maybe ever slow Love song ever done... ,😘😘😘😘 You know this already!!! 😘😘😘💯💯💯
One of the most upbeat songs ever is actually very depressing. The BeeGees "Staying Alive" is about someone who's life is going nowhere, somebody help me, I'm just staying alive.
Thompson Twins, named after two characters in The adventures of Tin Tin.
Great reaction from you both.
Listen to their album QUICK STEP AND SIDE KICKS.
Absolutely brilliant 👏
'We Are Detective' is a fun song by them :)
A ballad to keep you warm inside
For sure! Haven't seen you in a while Jose! It's nice of you to drop back in! -Mia \m/
Thanks for the warm reply
Your mum has great taste. I bet she's dancing while watching your reaction.. :)
You shall react to Thompson twins more famous song: " Don't you forget about me" from the Breakfast Club movie. Great song
Simple Minds not Thompson Twins sang Don’t You Forget About Me - still a Great song
This guy forgot exactly what he doesnt want anyone to forget 🤣
Oh shoot yes your right.... Hahahaha long time ago
love on your side was one of the first songs I listened to as a teenage boy
There are some songs you hear and you wish you wrote that song.
This is one of those songs.
Great reaction girls!
love you guys listening to older songs keep rocking Queens!!!!
My favourite by this group is one of their lesser known hits…Sister Of Mercy…. Tells a sad story to a beautiful melody.
Love your reactions Girls, this is the more commercial side to Thompson Twins, I'd love to see you react to, Another Fantasy, Bouncing, Good Gosh, Crazy Dog, (All from the 1982 Album SET, not a bad track on it)
Hi, I think this song is when two people found eachother. And they are at the begging of there relationship. And as you two said "Its so innocent." Because they don't want to ruin there love for the other person.
Loved it
Now you know why we danced like that in 80s.
I liked their song "Doctor, Doctor".
I was about your age when this came out
Hi girls your right that there certainly was bickering. As the true story behind the song and inspiration for it came from Tom and Alannah from the band. Tom and Alannah who later married and had two kids together had a big argument at the time. The song was about making up after the argument. And what it feels like to get back together after separation.
Pleaaaaaaase....react to GRAND FUNK - INSIDE LOOKING OUT LIVE !!!!...hugs from chile !!!
You guys are so cool!
You should check out Howard Jones things can only get better
