But I kept on watching the franchise in the hopes that it was all worth sticking with if we got a great conclusion for Rick’s story in The Ones Who Live. They should have made one last season after this one, so we actually had more with the crm and Rick, rather than Michonne kind of overshadow Rick, the MAIN character. I used to love Michonne’s character, until they made her into nothing but Rick’s love interest. I’m also pretty grateful that the entire Daryl Dixon season 2 was leaked, because after seeing/hearing what happens in the final episode of the season: the episode Norman Reedus said was the best episode of twd history or something along the lines of that - literally nothing happened 😂 it’s just “oh, Carol found Daryl. Thank you for taking the time to comment this! It's really nice to see another former superfan who feels the same way. For me, S10E12 was the last REALLY good episode of TWD, the last time things felt exciting and surprising. But thinking about it, the way they ended the whisperers storyline that season feels super similar to the way they ended the CRM's, just ending this massive threat in one episode with no issue or consequences. Same with the whole show's finale. When Negan's Saviors were dismantled, we still saw the consequences of their existence for a LONG time afterwards, including the episode with the kid who gives Negan his bat back. Ever since then, the show and its spinoffs seem to favor the convenience of a happy ending with no loose ends over the complications of a good story. Such a disappointing mess. I really had so much faith in TOWL, but yeah, I'm done for good after that. Should've been 3 movies.
I agree with Season 8 being the show finale, it fits as a conclusion more so, than the real finale. TOWL is the closest to an ending we’ll probably get.

Now he’s home with his kids and I know he’s gonna meet daryl one day So I can pretty much close the book for twd for me. This show is awesome and a good send off to ricks story.
Can I be vulnerable with you? I have never watched The Walking Dead. BUT, I am going to now because Danny Elliott said it was "One of the most popular dramas on all of television." And I believe everything Danny Elliott says.
@@MommA_MAtcha i watched it for the first time this year, and i can confirm it is a masterpiece. not the whole series, but the first few seasons are really fantastic, and you'll fall in love with practically all the characters and they'll carry you until the final season.
Don't waste your time with the show. Read the comic book series instead. It's constantly good and has a more cohesive story. If you watch the show, you'll either lose interest or be extremely disappointed with where the story ends up. I promise you won't feel that if you read the original first.
I couldn't help but be brought to tears during Michonne and rocks reunion because we've been waiting essentially the same amount of time as them to see each other again so it was really easy to feel those same emotions they were both feeling to some extent.
Great video Danny. I expected a very big thing with TWOL, the hype for Rick Grimes was in Andromeda, really so high. But I knew that they were not gonna give us something perfect, at least decent. And the first days felt good having Rick and Mich back, but after watching the finale it's just like... Strange, coincidences, and not very much interesting. Happened everything that we expected, and that's all. No more. They reunite, they fight, they try to escape, have to deal with Jadis, they kill everyone end of the stroy. I really felt like Rick was gonna bring a new world with him, the rebirth of the franchise... And it was just that, a series that I will try to forget about because everything I imagined was just better. Sadly I think I will keep watching the garbage, I've seen Daryl Dixon season 2 leaks and If there was more I would watch it, but I should do a personal work on getting out of this daily trying to know everytthing and watch everything and imagine what could have been, what could happen... i am tired of the walking dead, feels like we are the walkers and they're just giving us a series that we need to survive but they're force to do that...
@@Windenberg I think a lot of people had much higher expectations. Morgan's "the world is gonna need Rick Grimes" needed to get paid off, and that's what I wanted to happen here. Part of me is tempted to watch this new Daryl season, but I'm so sure it will only let me down. I no longer have any faith in these writers. Like it doesn't matter where they take these shows and spinoffs now, the fact that THIS is the story we got for Rick and the CRM is something I'll never be able to get over or take seriously. A shame. They should've either kept TWD's main show going or ended the whole thing a long time ago.
Who would win? The largest and most highly trained military force in the world with hundreds of Aircraft and Armored vehicles and thousands of highly trained soldiers who have been Training, Completing missions and surviving in the apocalypse for 20 years. OR Rick and Michonne because "Together they can do anything". They should have just left the CRM after the Helicopter Crash. That would have been the perfect ending. The plot armor ruined it.
After the season finale of the walking dead I just watch other people explain the plot of the spin offs. I was such a big fan, but now I'm just gonna read many fix-it fanfiction to grieve for this zombie of a TV show.
If anyone is flying military choppers in the apocalypse it isn't likely to be an apache. The mh6m or ah6 would use way less fuel and the ah6 would be way more effective against people/zombies and you have way more landing capabilities.
This series was really infuriating. Ricks character especially was insufferable. He’s constantly saying “no, I can’t do it.” Whilst Michonne keeps doing some cringy speech about being better. I think that’s my biggest issue. Is the amount of unnatural dialogue trying to be deep and meaningful whilst being unbearably cringe. I just wish the characters would start talking like normal people again. The universe is kinda dead ( pun intended) to me atm and honestly, it’s such a massive shame. It was one of my favourite shows at one point.
How TWD Should've ended: 1. Morgan should've died instead of Carl. 2. Rick should've died in the bridge 3. Michonne should've taken Andrea's commic book death. 4. Series ending with Carl, Judith and RJ in the future.
Rick wasn't why I watched but Andy definitely was a reason to watch but TOWL was awful and turned Rick into an unrecognizable side character to Michonne
Out of all the Rick moments I whined about, I was yelling at the tv screen on Rick leaving his artificial hand behind. Sure it’s symbolic and it’s from the CRM so Rick wouldn’t want to keep a reminder of those who basically kept him a prisoner, but you can’t just leave such a bad@$$ tool behind and I would’ve been more accepting if he were to lose it in the last battle or the explosion. Like it’s one of the most useful close range weapons to have for someone who lost a hand. Michonne still kept the sword that killed Hershel, Diane’s husband, and kids, so I think that weapon had a more reason to be dropped off.
the first episode was really good i was kinda disappointed when they shot down ricks helicopter because the story seemed like it was getting very interesting then they just blew okafor up
An entire show built on coincidence and magic. Michonne happens to shoot down ricks helicopter with fireworks which already bugged me. Then we find out in ep2 it was just coincidence that it was his helicopter. Then she happens to pull him out of the helicopter that just so happens to crash. Then they are magically in this super fancy building with all the power on. Then they happen to find a hybrid that still works 10 years into the apocalypse.
Most accurate review I've seen bravo. 1st episode great, second episode also great with compelling new characters, remainder of the series was a generic romance novel mixed with cheesey superhero movie dialogue. The finale was the most offensive of the series, the heroes triumphantly throw off their gas masks feet from the gas to pose in victory. I can't believe they had the same generic writing and character behavior tropes that plagued the end of the walking dead in this show too
Remember general beale son was in world beyond. Would be interesting to see him investigate his father death . And cause some corruption in the crm . That would be an amazing way to build up a good story . But can never expect too much from this show . Like ever
This video needs way more views, S - Tier review with every point as to why this show blew ass Rick is my favorite character of all time in any media, but aside from episode one, this guy is not Rick Grimes… I’ve just convinced myself that Rick died on the bridge in season 9 and I’m okay with that lol Ps, Mak’s corner is genius, loved it
@@dvn950 I imagine there was a plan for the bridge to be his end, and then AMC was like nooo we can make more money off of him later. And if they gave us some good movies instead of this nonsense, they might've been right. Thank you for the kind words!
Yeah, this franchise is getting worse, even with the titles of The Ones Who Live and The Book of Carol. At this point, the only show that's left standing for me is Daryl Dixon him floating all the way to France was a good idea, though XD
Just like you said, I stuck around for all of TWD when it just kept going to shit, but dead city, I gave up after three episodes and I had almost no clue what was going on cuz I was so disconnected from it cuz it was just so bad to me. Then Daryl Dixon which seemed more promising and again I stuck around for three episodes until it sudden became the same situation for me as dead city. Then now with the ones who live, I watched the first two and some of the third and I checked out. I was just done, TWD lost me.
@@_ataraxia_arts_ Dead City was terrible and I knew I wouldn't be watching another season of it, but Daryl Dixon was more promising to me. You're right, the third episode was pretty rough, but it ended up coming back around at the end of the season. But after what happened with this show, yeah, whole franchise is over for me
@@DJeniusyea it’s really unfortunate, and I could tell before it came out that dead city was gonna be shit I’m ngl.. but one big issue I’ve had with TWD and the franchise (along with most new media) is how DARK and grey scale the lighting has become. It is absolutely terrible! I’m rewarding TWD again right now and just season season 2, and how they still have so much atmosphere and emotion in their cinematography and lighting is amazing. But now everything is so dark you can’t see a thing and I think that’s a big factor of losing interest. Everything is just dark now instead of actually giving good visual storytelling. Maybe this could be an interesting video for you to make if it speaks to you, loved this video and you are so underrated ❤🙏
@@_ataraxia_arts_ that is a pretty widespread problem in the film industry right now, I might consider dedicating a video to it. There's an old famous quote from LOTR cinematographer Andrew Lesnie when someone on set asked where the light was supposed to be coming from, and he said "the same place as the music". Good lighting for the audience needs to make a mainstream comeback. Thank you for the kind words :) ❤

Dropped off at episode 3 then when I heard the spoilers I was glad I made said decision. This series should have been called TWD Love Conquers Alllll!!!!! In a squeaky voice
They didn’t ruin Rick. They ruined the franchise. They missed a great opportunity to give Rick a good conclusion to his story but overall he solidified himself as a fantastic character by season 4. He already had a complete arc by the time they got to Alexandria. After that they botched the Negan storyline and the franchise has been dead ever since. TWD is too far gone.
@@Hardrive2677 real. I think those earlier seasons had some of the best writing. I'm a big fan of season 5 tbh. TOWL is not canon to me personally, I've decided. This show ruins Rick, but I still liked him on that bridge
@@DJenius I mean in the world of the tv series I feel like TOWL fits right in honestly. It felt exactly like I was watching season 8 trash Scott Gimple writing. It felt very in line with TWD that we all know. Cool ideas squandered immediately. I didn’t have an issue with Rick honestly. It was more how they handled the CRM. Such a missed opportunity for an actually good, fresh storyline. The scene with Beale giving him the briefing made me actually interested in what the potential future could have been but then he kills him in a corny way and somehow the whole CRM is handled in like 20 minutes. Terrible, terrible writing.
@@DJenius the show needed more than 6 episodes. The story was too massive for a small contained mini series. They needed to throw a pile of money on Andrew Lincoln’s doorstep so that they could actually wrap up the franchise properly. Instead we were left with this mess. They should have left TOWL open ended with the threat of the mega herd and the CRM march looming. Then they could have done a full on reunion series where everyone returned to wrap things up. That’s what needed to happen and anything else is just a fat L for TWD. After this show they should have just announced. “Season 12. Everyone’s coming back. One final season” that would be the proper way to do it. But no.
@@Hardrive2677 that's all fair. I loved Rick's response to Beale asking him what the worst thing he ever did was. Squandered potential is key to TWD's soul at this point lol. I've said similar stuff under a lot of other comments here, I loved the main show despite its flaws, but it did have a lot of disappointments. Maybe it hit home with this spinoff because the stakes were so high and the potential was so massive, making the disappointment that much worse.
After finishing the new season of Dixon and after this wasted potential. I’m done too man. it’s literally a waste of time now like they are trying to just bring interesting things, waste theirs and our time trying to build on them and then just fall flat in the end. Idk I should’ve realized after dead city and how they everyone that got eaten by a Walker it was just so lazy compared to the past season, where they actually show the people being eaten while now it usually just shows them being pulled away and over taken by a group hug of zombies

Ngl, as tempted as I am, I have not watched any of the new Daryl season. I truly lost all faith in this franchise. There's no way that show ends in a way I'd be happy with. As much as I praised season 1, Laurent did feel like more of an idea of a character than an actual character. I think that may have been kinda on purpose because of his whole the nuns think he's Jesus thing, but it won't work long term if they want the audience to care about him
@@DJenius they just got rid of him and the guy that got carol there, so now carol and Daryl are left on a cliffhanger, still in france, and with no apparent way to get back. its not worth the watch, i totally get why you'd straight up stop watching anything twd related, since season 9 i feel like they just stopped trying with some exception
Be mindful when you pay attention so you can do it again to find out why you are wrong and sound like a child that wants to sit at the older cousins table.
I wanna say that the effort you put into this is great but something I heavily disagree with is your analysis of episode 4; Your takes feel very thought-out & logical, and your analysis of them feels like it's being observed under logical decisions. That said, the characters are behaving under emotional stress & making illogical decisions, just like real people do in situations like that. Michonne isn't "giving up," on Rick - Had she had the chance to walk out, she very likely would've regretted it & turned around. They're in a very heated, emotionally taxing argument after spending 6 years apart & having trouble getting through to one another, plus Rick is quite literally acting irrationally in a state of trauma. The decisions are consistent with the characters at their worst; Michonne being impulsive, brash, and resorting to wanting to be alone, and Rick being stubborn, feet planted firmly in the ground, and tunnel-visioned because he thinks it's the only way.
@@Foombamaroom my main issues with that episode were first, their fight was simply not entertaining to watch. There was no depth to it, and parts of it did come down to childish bickering about who's gonna get the next walker. Six years we've been waiting on this reunion, and I feel like if they were gonna fight, it should've been done with more care. The choices around the building it all takes place in didn't help things, either. Secondly, when they actually have that serious conversation, it does work. That's a lot more what I wanted to see. Rick's explanation makes sense, it actually had me pretty emotional when I watched it. But I simply could not suspend my sense of disbelief when they decided to stay in the collapsing building to have that conversation. I'm sorry, but even at their worst, there's just no way. They can have that conversation in the car ad lol. Every part of the back half of this show feels like it has glimpses of their actual characters peeking through, fleeting moments of hope for me, but it ultimately comes back around to just feeling like a fanfic.

Let's gooo! That show is a roller coaster with high highs and low lows, but I think it's worth it, especially for the Rick Grimes story.
@@pyroAdapt yeah that was one of my favorite parts before they did Nat like that
Great video Danny.
I can tell you put a lot of effort into this thank you!! Stick to
It man
No, thank you!! I absolutely will :)
Episode 1 has fabulous! And I would have pulled out more of my hair if I had watched the rest. Thank you for saving hours of my life.
@@RandomoUsername reading fix-it fanfiction seems like a good idea. I should get on that lol
This is so true, i appreciate channels like these cause i couldnt even finish this horrific show so i meed people to recal it for me
If anyone is flying military choppers in the apocalypse it isn't likely to be an apache. The mh6m or ah6 would use way less fuel and the ah6 would be way more effective against people/zombies and you have way more landing capabilities.
Not to mention the maintenence on a apache for a decade would be a pain to say the least
I love Rick Grimes.
Bruh your channel is underrated af
I’m subbed
MAK CORNER??? I love it! Great job Danny.
Thank you!! Shoutout Mak
How TWD Should've ended:
1. Morgan should've died instead of Carl.
2. Rick should've died in the bridge
I can't believe they had the same generic writing and character behavior tropes that plagued the end of the walking dead in this show too
Damn, feels like it hasn't been 6 years since Andrew left TWD
Remember general beale son was in world beyond. Would be interesting to see him investigate his father death . And cause some corruption in the crm . That would be an amazing way to build up a good story . But can never expect too much from this show . Like ever
This video needs way more views, S - Tier review with every point as to why this show blew ass
Rick is my favorite character of all time in any media, but aside from episode one, this guy is not Rick Grimes… I’ve just convinced myself that Rick died on the bridge in season 9 and I’m okay with that lol
Ps, Mak’s corner is genius, loved it
@@dvn950 I imagine there was a plan for the bridge to be his end, and then AMC was like nooo we can make more money off of him later.
AND PROMOTE INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIREEE EXACTLYYY!!!
The Ones Who Lives was great in my opinion. I loved it
The only reason I even watched it was because my man Rick Grimes was sexy, macho, and so like Clint Eastwoods… Low voice and those eyes.
real
at 12:02 YOU BRING UP WHAT NO ONE MENTIONED, i for one love negan beast mode evil heartless killer but the writing in that scene was like a 2015 redditor trying to be bad ass i couldnt take it
I felt so insane seeing people hype up that scene after the episode dropped like it wasn’t the worst part
TOWL was horrendous and I’ll never watch another mini series again. They couldn’t make a cool show with Rick in it. It’s Joever
Michonne produced episode 4 i think andy produced episode 5 😭😂😂
Andy is not a writer
@@AlexandriaVirginia-s9t neither is danai . They both produced episodes in TWOL .
@@kingkap_LMG Danai is actually playwright 💀,an award winning playwright
Michonne was so ulikeable in this whole show. The acting from her was wooden and weird
Rick is the best characters is not ruined
Dropped off at episode 3 then when I heard the spoilers I was glad I made said decision.
This series should have been called TWD Love Conquers Alllll!!!!!
In a squeaky voice
The one's who live was horrible

5:28 that's exactly the sentence i was waiting for, also the guy with the plain in daryl's story, that's exactly how they feel, maybe not the plane guy as much, he's gonna be a part of the commonwealth, and the annoying kid

DISAPPOINTING
This is the second worst spin off imo, right in front of WB and in behind of Fear
It was bad
Slop brain
I wanna say that the effort you put into this is great but something I heavily disagree with is your analysis of episode 4;
Your takes feel very thought-out & logical, and your analysis of them feels like it's being observed under logical decisions.
Banger
Thinking his take is objectively wrong is hilarious. Too many woke writers. Danai gurerra has no business in the writers room. This is the result.
One of your few trash takes
@@jaycemcqueen306 LMAO I appreciate you calling it one of my few. If you know the channel like that, you know I don't consider my opinion King. If you loved this show, don't let me or anyone else take that away from you. That being said, I will die on the hill that I hated this show so much it ruined the franchise for me
I think we can all agree (at least those who have read the comics) Rick in the show sucks ass and AMC has been wasting Andrew's performance for a good while now
First they kill Andrea then seasons later they kill Carl, Ricks character is fucked forever
I'd say for the most part you're right. However, I think T.V. Rick is a pretty solid version of the charecter. Especially because of Andrew Lincolns performance. However, the comic book version is 30× better than the T.V. version.
I’ll help you’re video out, in summary you’re opinion is wack and the show was great
