Thank you, Audi for a premium cloth fabric interior. Not everyone wants leather. And not every dislikes leather because of the environment. Some people simply prefer cloth fabrics.
I personally love this vehicle. I love the a5 and a4 and ive been looking fwd to a proper modern rework. Everything isnt perfect, but i love the new interior and the overall look has evolved tastefully imo
what a great review, cant wait to see more reviews from you. Your microphone audio could have been a touch louder than ambient noise, but other than that, top notch 🙂
Hyundai have a design studio in Germany they copy many VW Group models, even model naming convention. R Line N Line etc. Been going on for a decade, look at a Hyundai from 10 years ago and you'll see Hyundai has become German
The car is beautiful from the outside, but the speedometer readings are unacceptable. I hope there will be some update that will allow for normal odometer readings, like in the older A4 or A6 models. The readability of the tachometer and speedometer is a disaster, not in the Audi style, probably no car enthusiast is able to accept something like that
Which part? The large grille has always been an Audi signature since the ~2008 A8, and it was changed to a hexagonal shape in the ~2012 A6. The silver-accented vertical air vents were also found in the 2016 RS6. I don’t think there is anything on this car that is particularly unique to a Hyundai that Hyundai didn't already copy from an older Audi.😉
@@optiplex445 None of the things mentioned change the fact that it looks like a Hyundai Elantra. Audi needs to step up its game. As for the interior, it looks too generic, like every other model nowadays. Honestly, if it didn’t have the badge, I’d think it was some French car, probably a Peugeot or Renault. And that gloss black trim is just an eyesore 😬. It’s a shame because I love Audi, and the previous A4 was brilliant. Here, you can’t even adjust the climate control properly, as Thomas from Autogefühl pointed out in his review.
Good and thorough review. The new A4 successor seems just a bit dull and predictable though, no 'wow' factor at all. Those screens seem to get bigger and more pervasive with every new model, whatever the make. The interior materials look less luxurious now than in previous Audi models and the 'money-saving' thing is pretty obvious throughout the cabin. Seems like the prestige makers like MB, BMW & Audi have less and less to separate them from the mass manufacturers nowadays, especially where build quality, equipment and styling are concerned.
Cheers Tipp! And I agree, re differentiation - the legacy volume brands, especially the likes of Hyundai and Kia, are really going above and beyond when it comes to interior tech and materials. I spend as much time in those cars as I do any premium cars, and the differences are really starting to come down to jewellery.
@@seth1455 sorry, yep, the dimensions are all in the written review but I should've included it here too. "In size, the new A5 Sedan sits closer to the 2018 C8 A6, the newcomer is just 100mm shorter in overall length (4829mm), 24mm shorter in wheelbase (2900mm) and 26mm narrower in body width (1860mm)." Price is unknown, however - they won't reveal Australian pricing until it arrives next year. Expect it to be upwards of 70K though, given the outgoing model current starts from just under that.
Everyone just likes to complain. I’d take this over a BMW and Mercedes. This design looks more cohesive than what those brands are currently putting out.
You sir are sitting way way to close to the steering wheel. I get that you tried to convey that there's a lot more space in the rear in the shot afterwards but I think that would falsely the fact that there's not really much more room and the rears are still quite small.
No trouble at all. I only spent a couple of hours in it, but the sun was out in force and I didn't have any trouble. Except for having forgotten my sunnies!
Glad they’ve ditched the frameless doors. And the new wagon looks amazing - just hope it’s not super $$$ when it lands in Australia. I’d buy a BMW 340 wagon - but they don’t bring it here. S5 wagon/avant - please !!
I'm not keen on the overstyled giant aluminum rings in front. They seem to be descending into hell with BMW and the gigantic screens and removing the ergonomic and useful controls. I only buy 2 door coupes and have bought several Audis over the years. Now they drop the 2 door coupes. Insane.

8:40 " The space in the rear is a country mile ahead of an A4, more leaning towards an A6 " What ? This is absolutely wrong ! Despite having a 7.5 cm longer wheelbase both the legroom in the rear and the trunk space have SHRUNKEN. The knee room in the rear is 1,3 cm less than before and the trunk lost almost 50 liters in space ! As a 6.2 foot tall driver you could easily sit behind yourself in the old A4. Now your knees hit the front seat if it's adjusted to your driving position. Where do you get your information from and why do you make false statements ?
Sorry mate! I've been around a long time in the Oz auto publishing scene (not so much on video), but this is indeed my first piece with Chasing Cars. I moved to Europe earlier this year, so I'm obviously pleased the chasers have made the most of that.

The reason is over a decade ago an Audi designer left and went to Kia/Hyundai and that’s when the copying started. So I guess it’s payback lol
All parts are already copied by Hyundai, while Audi is just maintaining Audi look.
