Nobuo Uematsu is truly a genius
Was, I would say. Around the time he composed FFX he lost his touch. He still had some good songs in that game, but the quality was lesser compared to I - IX. Then after that, I don't think he ever did another good soundtrack again. I think he just suffered creative burnout and couldn't compose anything worth a damn anymore.
@@AnaverdGaidenX and XI, are an acquired taste but I think he wanted to try new things cause the technology was changing but he did excellent music for Blue Dragon and anata wo yurusanai.
That's so cap lol. He might not be as good as he was (debateable) but he composed really good themes for FF14 and I've heard Lost Odyssey which is also a really good OST@@AnaverdGaiden

@@AnaverdGaidenYou’re outta your mind. or you’re just a hater. Nobou Uematsu is a legendary composer. He recently came out with No Promises from FF7 Rebirth.
FF8 feels like Uematsu just wanted to do a prog rock album and i'm so glad he went so hard with it
And later we got The Black Mages and Earthbound Papas so his dream was complete

めちゃくちゃ好きな曲 Force Your Wayっていう曲名も最高にカッコイイ
色褪せないカッコ良過ぎる曲 戦闘曲No1や
このボス戦の疾走感とプログレっぽさが、すごくたまらないです‼︎

これ聞いてあまりにカッコよくてサントラ欲しくなって買い始めたのがサントラ集めのきっかけだったなぁ
植松さんの曲は控えめに言って最高です！
7.8のボスの戦闘曲ってそれぞれの作品そのものを表してるよね。
今まで何千と曲を聴いてきましたが
一切揺るがない人生で1番の曲です。

Nobuo Uematsu and Motoi Sakuraba have done so much to bring prog rock into video games. And nowadays we definitely need more games with prog battle themes.

The stakes of all of FF8's boss music is what elevates it to GOAT status. The music in FF7 and 9 is cool but FF8's music makes you feel like you're battling God.

Far and away the best boss music ever to grace a FF game. I always looked forward to boss fights in this game solely for the music
It’s #3 after FFVII and FFIX’s. That’s saying a lot for FFVIII, though, which is otherwise below average in most FF criteria.

I was listening intently to the drums of this track today and realized that I've yet to hear anyone recreate that hi-hat thing he's doing in any song, perhaps in a cover of this song, but never anywhere else. I feel like there's a ton of opportunity there!

The best boss battle music i ever hear in my life..

I've always adored this song and will always associate it to the first Ifrit battle, and I might overthink it but as I grew older, I realized the whole progression of the track represents each stage of a boss battle: the first twenty seconds would be the introduction, when you're getting your characters ready for the confrontation, until the break at :34 when the opponent uses a stronger attack and puts you in danger, the following part definitely sounds like the phase when the enemy's having fun with your team, you can almost hear him laughing with the use of the synths, until the moment you start to recover, basically at :51 (just like when Ifrit realises that you have Shiva by your side and stops laughing), and get back on your feet and attack him with all your strength, you can hear the drums again, and then I like to imagine a special limit break like Renzokuken at 1.29, when the song gets more intense, it's definitely its climax.
I've always pitied the fact that they choose the normal battle theme for Diablos. It definitely was a tough fight for me, but this song would have made it even more epic. Can you imagine the sound he makes when he charges at you over those melodies?

Ff7 is king, though I admit 8 and 9 had best boss themes.
I'd say 6 is king, honestly. 7 is great, but there's a lot of better FF games.
