    Nice, I have a 4 door with a gte sub, fully kitted out the cylinder head so far, 272 BC cams ss valves and retainers, arp bolts all around, used the GE pistons with gte rods and pushing 550 on the wheels, next step will be forged rods and pistons then 4 bolt main caps. Should be golden. Also still running 95 pump on 14 to 15 psi of boost, looking to double that as soon as the rods etc are done and I can get my hands on some e85 to retune. Hoping for around 800whp after I am done. But anyways nice build can see you built her right from the start.

    • @CarModsGarage
      @CarModsGarage  4 месяца назад

      @@MrNella853 you have a nice setup. What you want to do is what I have now except for the 272 cams. Can't get e85 here though so I'm running 92 pump. In the Supra I add octane booster which should take me to 97. 800hp is my goal on the Supra but for this BMW 2JZ 533 is plenty .

      Down pipe kit - $300
      Turbo - $800 (can find unbranded for $200 on eBay)
      Fasteners and lines for turbo - $300+
      It's worth I think but you can cheap out on turbo (needs modifications on cold side), wastegate (eBay) - $700 bucks cheaper just there. I like DM products and kits though. They have good stuff but I built my own kit from eBay stuff

    You didn't mention about oil pan swap - first there was a front sump, but that one does not fit E36/E46 chassis, then when test fit the engine it got rear sump. Just want to make things clear for somebody who is just starting with this. About driveshaft - you can mix and match front parts of the driveshaft to sute the length. Anyway - good job man!

    • @CarModsGarage
      @CarModsGarage  3 года назад

      That's true it needs to be rear sump. The front sump hits the power steering rack.
      The OEM driveshaft is too long and two pieces. You can definitely cut and weld to make it work. I didn't want to risk 🙂. I'll probably make a detailed video about the details for the conversion

    I think this is the most important video as you put inside of it so many things that you’ve missed in the others ;)
    I’m a bit stuck with the Compression ratios of mine currently as I want to buy the proper pistons to be able to lower the compression ratio to stock Supra one 8.5:1 and this will make my IS300 2JZ-GE a non interference engine ;) … hope you got my point ;) … I mean that even if I snap a timing belt pistons will never hit the valves ;) because of the lower compression ratio, no ? Or I’m mistaken ? Please let me know cause I found the equations how to achieve 8.5:1 compression ratio with 2.6mm head gasket (this is only applying to 10.5:1 stock pistons and stock (thin) rods, and now I’m doing same equations for the stock TT Supra pistons and rods and then I’ll check the 8.5:1 Wiseco and 9.0:1 Manley, and I’ll be running stock bore (86mm, hope so 😂 dunno, will see once I open bottom end and measure the cylinders from the very bottom to the top 🤣) 86mm

    • @CarModsGarage
      @CarModsGarage  Год назад +1

      Ya you are correct. If you lower the compression ration it will be non interference engine. I had that done on my BMW from this video and also on my Toyota Supra. I dropped my compression to 9.5:1. Got forged Manley pistons. You can get tt supra for sure. The GTE is already a non interference engine.
      The bore and stroke are 86mm. On my builds i increase the bore by 0.5mm so i have 86.5mm on bore and stroke is the same 86.00mm.
      You should be fine 👍.
