- Back in August I decided to take a little break from filming Hiking the Wainwrights and get out with some friends for a wild camp; the first in over 3 years! So I was joined by Jen & Will and headed to one of the most amazing locations in the Lake District for some much needed mountain serenity. I won't be leaving it 3 years again!

@@stevenmarshall6645 get to Hard Knott itself then face toward the Scafells. Walk downhill toward them about 100 yards and you will see a corridor of grass between the rocks. Walk along it to the end. Lovely spot , I hope you find it.

Great watch, looked a stunning place to camp, sometimes the experience of just being out there far outweighs the photography and looks like you had a great time!

Return of the drone! Brilliant. Can I ask as a lover of waterfalls what is the name of the beck/Brook below your camp site? I'd be interested in checking that out at some point. Looks a quiet area we're you on Glaramara or stonethwaite because I'm sure that's langstrath beck?

How do you not get caught ? Because I thought it was illegal - I want to go to the lake district but I’m worried about getting a £2500 fine - am I likely to get caught

Mister Black Crag that was some place to wildcamp with spectacular views & scenery 👌 drone footage has opened up angles to see things in a totally new way & the lakes gifts itself to these ..truly awesome..keep up the tremendous channel 👌

I always enjoy your content. Living nearby I know most of the walks you do. My partner and I often follow in some of your footsteps on the lower walks but its great to get out and about to enjoy the Lakes. By the way your T shirts and Hoodies are excellent.

What an amazing place. Do you have a coordinate or route to get there. Since finding you channel I have started to prepare a trip to the lake district with my van, driving from Bulgaria tho I myself is from Denmark. Never knew England could look like this 😍

Hi, been going through your channel and it’s great, I, the same as you are interested in photography just never get time, I have camped all my life and started wild camping to get some astrophotography done, work in progress. That bit at the end about not, in your opinion, getting a decent enough photo. I'm often going out with a great idea and coming back with absolute garage. I stick a couple in Lr and mess with them for ages and think, if I'm buggering around this much is it worth saving?

Lovely video. Where do you get drinking water from? I've just bought a Sawyer water filter but never used anything like that before. Is it safe to get water from the lakes?
Thank you 😊 The Sawyer filters are excellent and allow you to drink from any water source. I'd still opt for running water though. Like a stream or a spring.

Looks like you wild-camped on Hard Knott, I was there earlier this year with two of my walking buddies and we reckoned it would make a great wild-camp spot with great views all around and a chance of a good sunset and sunrise. Sadly it is still to be enjoyed as we only managed one wild-camp this year. Still there's next year to look forward to. BTW, looking forward to 29th October 🙂👍

I don’t see how this was “wild camping “ There wasn’t much to see apart from repetitive landscapes. No interaction from the other couple. No sitting around a fire together or even a basic stove. Tents sent up, goodnight and that was it until morning. Then all sat at a pub for breakfast. If you’re going hiking, who leaves everything to do with camping at home. I can’t see the point. That’s the fun of it. I skipped past the hiking ones. I’ve watched a few but they’re a bit samey samey. So when I found this one titled “wild camping” I was left depleted. Just constructive criticism.
That’s exactly what wild camping is, hiking up to a spot and setting up late and up early to take it down
sitting around the fire goes against all the principles of wild camping
Nice to see a camping trip in such a lovely place. Even of the pictures didn't come out as expected the memories will always last.

We’ve not done ether of um as like you say they get busy , think I’d have to get up at a sparrow fart to miss the crowds , and like you say Benn for me to . We very nearly did it after going up high rigg (one for old farts) across the road . 🧇👍
