Hi, when you were looking at the kuiu you were talking about a fresh pole set, can I ask what happened?
@@cuprajake1 hi. Yeah the carbon poles have aluminium sections that join them together. The aluminium joining piece slid inside the section so the poles wouldn’t connect. They also split at the ends too. They are very soft poles vs the aluminium and not something I recommend. The aluminium are much better with no problems.
@@MarkOutdoors_ thanks, I've never been a carbon pole fan, thank you
Love it up there, stunning view. Tent looks canny as well 🙌🏼
A great spot for a wild camp in the Lake District. I really like the tent as it’s very spacious and the colours are lovely too. A few more outings and attaching the foot print to it will make it easier. Thanks for watching 😃
Hey!! Looked like a great camp!!
I was confused by your tent at first. Looks a bit like the Durston X Mid but a little cheaper lol!!
How lucky were you with that weather, wow!! 😍
It very similar to 2 other brands of tents. I really like it with the space it gives me. Such a good design and the colours are great too. The pitch and weather combined were absolutely stunning. Couldn’t have got it better haha. Thanks for watching 😊
Class mate. What a cracking sunset and sunrise. Yeah, the Helm Compact 1 is a bit cramped for the big lads.
All the best mate 👍
It was a cracker alright. Much needed weather after the awful stuff we have had for a long time. Yeah I struggle with a lot of tents with being tall but they is plenty roof in that asta gear tent. Thanks for watching and I have yours to watch this evening too.
Hi Mark, I enjoyed this video - I like the no talking style as it allows a focus on the experience. Two kit questions: how are you finding thevAsta gear - I am thinking about getting one; also whats the watch you are wearing - it looks a decent big size? Thanks for producing the videos.
That’s also what I like about the no talking. It shows the trip and the peace that I like about wild camping. I am really liking the tent a lot. It has loads of space inside and the vestibules. The inner where the door and are hang low but it’s fine. This maybe due to me modifying it as I have attached the inner and outer together. It stands so well without guy lines in which shows how strong it is before putting them out. For a budget proven light weight true 2 man trekking pole tent I think it’s the best on the market. My next vlog is going to be a look into my kit and I will be showing more of this in that too. A budget light weight kit look. The watch is the Apple Watch Ultra. I got rid of my garmin as the maps aren’t good and this thing is much better for the maps. It has so many features and suits me really really well. Thanks for watching 😃
Loving it, I've got the same pack and the same tent but just with the mesh inner, it's my summer tent. I'll be in the lakes in June so that might have to be the spot I stay at. Great video.
A great pack and a great tent. Quality budget gear in my eyes. Definitely go and grab that spot as it is stunning with the views it offers. Thanks for watching 😃
G'day mate, enjoyed the video. 13kgs is not to be sneered at, a decent weight to carry. on average I carry 15 to 18kgs, but over here the huts can be up to 8 to 12 hours away and 13kgs can feel like 20 kgs after climbing for that time. looks a bit nippy over there, great views. ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ ☺☺
Hello mate. Sure you’re right there about weight. Over time it digs in more and more and the muscles feel it more and more. With it approaching summer I will be loosing maybe 2kg off that with a tent change at time and to a quilt, but more fluids are required so we never win again. Yeah the cold temperatures haven’t gone yet but hoping this was the last of them as our cold weather has lasted longer than it should have. Thanks for watching 😃
Where did you get that 'trekking pole table'? Looks a decent bit of kit that 👍
Hallo Gaz. I make them so if you could measure your trekking pole middle section with a vernier I could make you one. A design of my own which works well as it also has a hook on too so you can hang a lantern too. I make them in batches when I get a few to make.
@@MarkOutdoors_ unfortunately I don't have a vernier but if you're looking at selling these then maybe get in touch with Colin at Outdoor Gear Essentials.
@@GrizzlyGaz I didn’t think about it but I would have to do big batches of various sizes too.
@@MarkOutdoors_ I think most poles are of similar diameter aren't they? Or maybe do some research into the thickness of trekking poles and find that happy medium 👍
@@GrizzlyGaz I have been recording some sizes and they are there about. The range is quite big but are narrowed down to a few sizes so farish.
Cracking video mate, nice to get treat every once in a while to some beauty conditions! Keep them coming mate 😁
Great video the wine bottle idea is epic lol 😂
Haha yeah what a good idea to reduce weight 😂😂😂 thanks for watching 😃
Very nice spot Mark and some great shots. Thanks for sharing the experience.
Great video. Where did you get that little pole table from?
Hi Daniel
I make the tables. It’s a design of my own too. Really handy for trekking poles. They are £10 each delivered. You would need to measure the trekking pole section that you want to put it on with a vernier and then I make it to fit that. My email is markoutdoors@yahoo.com if you want one. Thanks for watching 😃
Nice looking tent that Mark, canny small pack size as well 👍
Yes that view looks amazing 👌
It was exactly that. A great location in the Lake District. Thanks for watching 😃
@@MarkOutdoors_ 👍🙂
Where is the location ? Where would I park to head there
Great video mate class
Thanks Joe and thanks for watching 😃
What is it called where you camped
Top spot that lad. Camped there a few years ago man. Definitely one of the best sunset spots. Where do I get one of the little tables that attaches to the walking pole man? Looks decent that.
Thanks mate. It’s been on the list for a long time but it’s getting there with out anyone being there that’s the hard part haha. I make them tables and it’s a design of my own. It has a hook on to hang things from at the rear and also a updated in the table so your phone can lean against your pole. I would need you to measure the trekking pole middle section of your pole with a vernier and I then make it to fit that. Thanks for watching mate
@@MarkOutdoors_ Cheers man. I'll drop you a message over on Instagram 👍
13kg I can only dream of a pack wight that light cracking camp Mark seen a few people up there lately nice looking tent being over 6ft must be a pain not all tents are that long atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Lundy my legs buckle when I see your rucksack and always try and guess the weight that you carry haha. We all pack for different stuff and enjoy it. I 6ft2 is a pain for wild camping tents. The mats and sleeping bags are fine but that’s it haha. Thanks for watching and hope for a speedy recovery on the hand.
@@MarkOutdoors_ thanks Mark we normally carry around 30kg sometimes a bit more but on the hill it's normally 16kg to 21kg
@@LundysWildcampBushcraft if I had a good ankle I would carry that too haha
Nice one lads 👍
Thanks jimmy 😃
