  • I've been wanting to camp on Souther Fell in The Lake District on midsummer's eve for many years. The sole purpose is to see the fabled spectral army that was witnessed by a few dozen people back in the 1700s.
    This year was my year. Join me as I spend time with Finn waiting for their arrival and have a good laugh at me in absolute terror just after dark! It was a weird and disturbing moment, that's for sure!
    As always, thank you so much for watching; I appreciate all the support you have shown me over the years!

    A few weeks ago, I was walking along a small cut through about 7am and saw a young lad go behind a tree, clear as day. I walked past a bit dubiously as it was quite dark still but he wasn’t behind the tree, or up it and there was no gate in the fence that runs alongside the lane that he could have gone into. Very odd!

    Excellent vid!! Love it - very relaxing - the sound of skylarks is the background noise to where I live on the West Pennine Moors.
    I can empathise with your sense of unease - been there once. I've been out at all times of night, and in many isolated places on my own and I've never really been spooked... except for one night when I was doing some astro stuff at Kichrist on Skye a couple of years back. I was in the old graveyard behind the ruined church and had just set up around 11pm in Autumn - the Milky Way looked magnificent! I'd done a couple of LE's for the foreground of the comp' image, and was just about to rattle off a series of MW images for stacking to do the sky, when a very disturbing grunt-come-howl was emitted from the forest beyond the graveyard wall, and not just the once either, and it seemed to be getting louder (closer). I'm a big bloke, and can handle myself, but this really, really unsettled me and then my mind started playing tricks. I just couldn't focus on the job at hand so I ended up packing up and going back to the car. Difficult to describe the sense of relief when I closed the car door and started the engine - and this is from somebody who lives in a house dating from the mid-1700s that has a ghost in it, and I'm used to things going bump in the night and objects moving inexplicably. Thinking back, and being logical about it, it had to be a stag roaming around the forest, but at the time my mind wasn't convinced.

    • @rubblereport
      @rubblereport 8 месяцев назад +1

      I stepped through it in after effects, as the camera shakes around there's a couple frames of the tent with no figure and then when the camera properly looks at the tent the figure is there. This is a very easy thing to do in after effects, but also hard to definitively call it as its such low quality and so short. The biggest give away that its fake is that there's CLEARLY a figure there, so if it was real he would have seen it while editing and shown it and spoken about it in the main video and been way more blown away... Maybe he actually thought he saw something and then decided to put a little fake figure in the video for people to get excited by, either way if its fake I think he should own up as it just feels like a crass way to boost ratings on his channel. There's no need to fake stuff, his videos are interesting enough as they are.

    Finn's like my dog with balls. I genuinely believe she would play and chase it every minute of the day if I let her. But I love how much joy it brings her. Simple things in life.

    In November 1843 a man by the name of John Todhunter was found dead on Soutter Fell, near Saddleback. It was reported that he had laid there dead for a fortnight before he was found. His death was reported in The Kentish Independent, dated Saturday November 25th, 1843.

    Maybe it was the silhouette of the stacked rocks? Those Skylarks are stunning!

      The rocks weren't next to his tent though and are shorter than the figure.

    Congratulations you seen your first ghost. No matter how well you see it or catch it on film even the way it makes you feel like you didn't see anything but your brain knows you did is the proof. It's absolutely crazy how it makes you feel crazy and it can do that over and over on the same night in the same location. You walk away stirred and trying to make sense of it. You don't find it funny as soon as you said it doesn't feel spooky it changed your mind real fast lol.

    There’s definitely a figure stood near your tent! 😮. Weird or what! Love Finn, her mannerisms are so like my Jack Russell terrier, Scampi’s. They’re such fun little dogs.

    I'd recommend metal sporks and cups, never break never taste of plastic. Ideally enclosed SIGG type flasks rather than open cups, keep coffee hot for hours and again, never taste of plastic or get scratched etc.

    My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the Mill Inn in December 2021.The television in our room wasn't working so when I reported it to the manager He said just use another room to watch tv , so while my wife was having a bath before our evening meal I went into an unoccupied room across the corridor to watch their tv.
    While I was there I heard people in an adjoining room talking loudly and their telivision was on a bit loud as well.
    After a while I went back to our room and we both went down for our meal to the bar area. The manager, who was the only person working in the pub that evening said He would be cooking our meal as we were the only guests in the pub that evening. When I said what about the people in room 7 He said there were no other guests but we two, and that I must have heard the resident ghost!

    There has never been, and never will be, any spirit, ghost, entity, or any other supernatural forms on this planet. It is logical that any such 'sightings' are due to imagination or trick of light etc.
