  • Learn the basics of quilting with a simple, beginner-friendly project like a wholecloth baby quilt. Since there isn't any piecing involved, you can jump straight into quilting the layers and practicing your techniques.
This is an excellent first project for aspiring quilters, and I highly recommend trying several small projects before you jump into a memory quilt.
Tara is a memory quilter and quilt educator that uses this channel to educate and inspire new or would-be quilters to just get started!
Memory quilts are made with t-shirts, jerseys, and special garments. Memory and T-Shirt quilts have become a new tradition, and way to treasure your favorite garments while putting them to use. Whether it's a graduation, baby keepsake, or memorial of a lost loved one, quilts are the perfect way to use and love the memories.
    About Quilts + Love:
Quilts + Love is a small quilting business specializing in t-shirt and memory quilts made from your treasured garments. See Your Memories, Materialized.
    About Tara:
Tara is a wife, mother, quilt business owner, educator, and a little wacky, too! While she tries to keep it cool on camera, she is actually chasing around two crazy kids and one large dog when the camera is paused. If you see those babies running around in the background, no worries. This is a true family business! :)

❤I just came across your you tube channel and absolutely love you videos. Your a great teacher hope to see more. I wanted to ask you is it better to use cotton thread for cotton quilts and polyester for tshirt quilts?

Thank you Tara, this was pretty good for a beginner but some steps were cut out or missing. I didn't see what you did to turn over the piece and do the top side nor what to do with the corners. I do have better idea now though.

Thanks I’m about to try this for the first time. But I just want straight across lines through the blanket without any perpendicular lines. So if I rotate while doing them, the entire perimeter won’t be stitched just every other section. Will that be ok, or should I do a perimeter stitch too

Can I use anything for binding, such as satin ribbon or cotton binding from a roll or do I need to make it up like you show here?

    Hello,
Thank you for sharing this video! it's very helpful to beginners like me.
I got a question, do you pre wash your fabric and batting? If so, what is your process?
    Thank you
