@@JulianGaming007true , not to mention the bastardisation of the S pen technically makes the S25 ultra a downgrade. ✅ Ultrawide cam upgrade only ✅ no Bluetooth function on SPen ✅ Thcker camera bezels ✅ AI software that can be also updates on older galaxy Scamsung s25 Ultra is a joke
Cell phone technology stopped being groundbreaking years ago. Most companies are just pumping out hype instead of innovation. Unless you have a 2, 3, or even 4 generation old phone, upgrading every year is a waste of money.
I still have Note 9 8/512 yet even I don't feel the need to. 1. No SDcard support 2. No phone jack 3. No physical finger print scanner 4. Downgraded Spen 5. Below 6000mah 6. Less than 16GB RAM 7. No charger included No thank you. I wont take the crap Samsung keeps doing every year.
its with everything, u didnt know that? i still have the s20 ultra!, ill finally get the s25 ultra, because its every 5 years that u are suppose to upgrade, my laptop is 6 hyears now, ill also upgrade it because who will upgrade a laptop every 2 years? or even my pc.....u cannot upgrade every 2 years...its pointless.....u need at least 4 years before upgrading
No Bluetooth S-pen inside the phone and no 5X Periscope telephoto lens not increase in the battery size also did not improve charging watt speed as much as I like S25 ultra it definitely miss the mark😮
Couldnt agree more. My biggest gripe that NOBODY talks about is they are STILL using the Samsung m13 displays from almost 2 years ago on all the s25 flagships while LAST YEARS Iphone 16 pros and pixel 9 pros are using the more advanced m14 displays. This level of cost cutting by samsung is insane when you account for all the other reused parts in the new phones. Hard to want to support them right now.
They use an upgraded M13 panel, a side-grade. Probably because the anti-reflective coating doesn't play nicely with the new panel. Besides, the difference in panels is negligible, people are way too negative about it
@xPandamon I would need a source for them being upgraded panels. Also highly disagree the m14 jump is negligible. M14s major advantages are in efficiency and lifespan. More than 20% on both metrics. It’s a huge improvement from one generation to the next. Even google could afford the M14 for the pixel 9 series, but samsung MX couldn’t. I dont think it’s justifiable. -Maybe- the anti reflective coating plays a part but still.
@deserter___ It has been known for month that they upgrade to an M13+ panel, to deal with the graininess issues. Should bring better efficiency too, just using different materials than M14 does. That's why I am not too concerned, this panel was specifically made for this phone, I doubt that they would use it if it's that much worse than M14. I'm sure xda developers will thoroughly test the new panel soon like they always do (or dxomark)
You the only RUclipsr who really talked and say the people’s mind tbh all other RUclipsrs shy away from speaking the truth I kinda think they got hush money. Kudos bro
I put it this way,I'm with Flossy Carter. Removal of the bluetooth S pen is crazy, and the fact that those AI features are only free for a period is sad. I feel like after that point most if not all those features will go to the 24 ultra. Anybody who said the new iPhones weren't even worth releasing doesnt have any business defending Samsung doing the same.
Honestly if Samsung keeps this up for the S26 series or s27 series I'm just going to buy another flagship. The flagship series and the Ultras were supposed to have the best in class hardware available. Now they're behind the competition, In battery, camera sensor, camera shutter with their fast moving objects problem, USBC port Specs, fingerprint scanners still need improvement & They could embed something inside the screens to make the face unlock on the phone work with security like banks and apps... Smh this is crazy
@@MB-jkjkit’s crazy how Samsung can’t keep up with their „ultra“ even with any major Chinese flagships in terms of camera. Yearly disappointment that they don’t change anything yet again
Yup, got my new OnePlus 13 delivered today! Snapdragon 8 Elite, 16 GB/ 512 GB, $800 after sale discount and any-phone trade-in/recycle discount. After a history of only buying very nice mid-rangers, I treated myself for the first time to a flagship phone.
Hell yeah. Seems to be the only new flagship in the states worth getting. Assuming you're in the states anyhow lol. I really miss LG and Moto trying wild new things, it looks like its up to oneplus now.
for me Samsung makes the only competitive compact phone after i consider the price im getting it for. the s25 base model was 260 USD that i had to pay with a trade in of an s22 base model oh and it also came with free galaxy buds 3 pro the trade in offers in Australia are just insane. and for that price there is NOTHING even remotely close.
i also picked up an s25 ultra for a family member for 580 USD with an s21 fe trade in and this also came with buds 3 pro. i feel sorry for the people that buy theese things at full price you are getting scammed hahaha
It's because once you've invested in some of their devices it makes economic sense to continue to do so. To get the benefits of the ecosystem which you've paid into.
@@TomUK7 I've had a couple of Samsung devices and the ecosystem was something I really didn't like. Now it seems that Samsung will heavily lean on Google Gemini it might be better but they won't fool me a third time
I checked it out at Samsung store in Glendale CA. It’s super light. If you don’t care about spen it’s a phone to consider but unlikely because in 2 years you will need more than 12 GB Ram. Personally hell no because I’m all about that bt spen. I change tracks from across the room while charging/docking and that’s a dealerbreaker for me.
u dont really need 16gb yet & especially not in 2 years - in 5 years then maybe but prob still not since phones with 8gb just run smooth, android is pretty much finished. if ur a heavy gamer that would be different, but the SoC itself will struggle before u reach peak 16gb usage. if u see 10/12gb usage on ram on ur phone thats because a lot of apps are still cached. if u go for 16gb u will the same issue depending on ur phones ram management - depending on the brand it can be quite aggressive too. - & no, AI doesnt need much ram, at least for now. most stuff is cloud based or 50/50 & for most AI features & upcoming features 8gb ram for AI tasks are normal - we are so many years behind with AI & most likely the cloud solution is here to stay since it the best to update their LLM on a daily basis, sure u can release unpolished software that then can chunk up 16gb+ ram, but u should never buy it then in the first place for the price though it should been at least 16gb.
@@Vss077 yeah if you want to be stuck as a low end user, sure. I use these devices like a power user I get this done and change apps and run multiwindow. You sound like an industry apologist
Here's how I see it, as a kid I'll stay up all night flashing roms into my phone back in the sony Ericsson days, and early android days, I installed one ui 7 beta day one, so a chance to have any kind of change in a new phone gives me that same feeling I had as a kid, but losing features no matter how small kills it for me
I was almost going to upgrade from my S21Ultra which is still working like the day I got it. Today however, I had the displeasure of holding the s25 ultra in my hand naked, and then with a case on it. I literally cannot believe that more reviewers aren't being honest about how terrible the phone feels to hold compare to my phone and even last year's model. It also looks like the rounded corners were last second thing they threw in. Definitely a big disappointment and I appreciate your honesty in the video. Looks like I'm keeping my S21 Ultra for 5th year. Thank You!
I didn't know if I agreed with this when I read. Went to hold a test model and even with the string pulling on it, it felt way too light and cheap. The s24 ultra feels luxury. How could 1 gen make such a difference?
This is why I like you and TechOdyssey's channels. You call out these companies on their bullshit without the sugar coating. I've followed both of you since the Pixel 6 days for that reason.

Have a look at early rumours for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. It looks like there will be some real meaningful hardware changes. Advances in display, battery, charging speed and periscope camera. That's what I'm waiting for coming from an S22 Ultra.
I just subscribed.... This is the best review I've seen... Can't wait for ya to test it side by side with one plus 13 in all departments, speakers, infrareds, dishwasher etc
I love Samsung and still have my s10 plus and s23 ultra but man I miss DJ Koh because these days it's way too incremental compared to 2019 Samsung they have serious hardware competition from the Chinese phones like Huawei, Honor , Oppo , Xiaomi and Vivo . I'm a Samsung fan but sometimes we have to be honest that we need more hardware like 2019 Samsung. I will say the Snapdragon Elite is great but this is too incremental compared to the Chinese competition and im a Samsung fan but we have to be honest we need more hardware . Also I was upset about them omitting Bluetooth from s pen and it reminded me why I keep my old devices w things like micro sd card
I NEVER liked oneplus and this has definitely been their year to shine so far. If they put out a new foldable with that new battery tech they'll be on top of things.
I don't know if honest, but inaccurate. I am still subscribed, though, out of curiosity. You don't shit the biggest upgrade since the s23 ultra, just because it is not up to your aesthetics , or your proper sense of change. Especially about that one, the youtuber's proper sense of change is too new age. We old dinosaurs could not care a little bit about it.
I feel the opposite of yoi about the AI "features". I am 100% against AI being forcefully integrated at an operating system. I also find and have quite a bit of issues with AI integration with any electronic device, mainly privacy, security, and surveillance concerns.
I love the software. The phone itself is such a letdown. I can't begin to imagine why they didn't give us 16gb Ram, 6000 mha battery, no new charging speeds, an UW camera only 😢 no new display technology like the all the chinese brands. The chinese brands are seriously killing the S25U. This feels like the ultimate mid- ranger. For $1300 wtf!?
I’ve been waiting for this!!!! I have been so nauseated by all these tech channels that have been making excuses for these changes. I recently bought the OnePlus 13 and some of the apps are not as polished as Sammy… so I was seriously considering switching to the S25U, but now I feel like I’ve already got the phone of the year!
You have just become my favorite tech reviewer(not taking away from others). I agree with you; imitation is the new norm and I do agree that innovation seems to be a thing of the past.
Fully agree about the battery life. Plus.......the efficiency estimate for the new chip is being compared to the s24 before the oneui update. I would assume there should be better battery use for the s24 after the update.
I'm buying the S25U $399 with trade in and free Buds pro 3. Having said that, i do so begrudgingly and absolutely agree with everything you said. So frustrated it was not an S25 presentation, it was an AI presentation. Because they didn't have much to talk about when it came to hardware. I get a new phone every year and you could call me a Samsung fan boy but I'm still almost to hit the cancel button out of principal. Very disappointing... Thanks for being real, I was amazed at all the positive RUclips talking heads with referral links.
I've been a Note/now Ultra user since the Note II. I suffered the days of TouchWiz when sometimes rooting and flashing roms is what I had to do to get my device those few extra miles to perfection. Then along came One UI, and I never rooted again. But flash forward, and Samsung starts removing features like the IR blaster and their old contactless payment system that worked even if the shop didn't support NFC. What's next, Dex? In fact the last feature full device was the Note 20 Ultra. They keep in this direction and I might as well get a Pixel. Great video, liked and subscribed.
Samsung has been releasing only 3 flagship S series phones for 5 years now whereas Apple has 4 phones that can satisfy most of their customers. Samsung should've kept the Note separated from the Ultra. Samsung has a huge gap between their 2 basic models and their top tier Ultra model. I'm a big Samsung fan but I'm not ever completely satisfied with these lineups. The Ultra is a great phone for a really hefty price and the Plus is a good phone for also a hefty price. It's like Samsung is coercing consumers who want the best tech to spend a big check and that doesn't sit well with me. Good video btw.
I like the design of the last 3 generations of Galaxy Ultras better than the new S25U design. This Ultra is Ultra in name only. No Bluetooth on the stylus is also mindblowing. If you like the stylus a lot and its a selling point, get the S24U or S23U. If it isn't but you like the convenience of having a stylus, get a Moto G Stylus 5G '24, you'll have an audio jack, sd card slot, a killer battery, and a killer screen.
FUN FACT: The S24 has been on the One UI beta for months now. Samsung GALAXY Updates are 7 years. So thats a non factor. The battery will last longer due to the new battery cooling system AND the Snapdragon elite being 3 nm compared to the S24s 4nm (thats 75% less heat and the faster the processor the less the battery has to work) BUT they sure skimped on Hardware I agree. I would pay extra for more HW features AND contrary to popular belief : Id take a thicker phone ANYDAY for a larger battery/ more HW. Thin has ZERO use Spen issue wasnt the battery, it was the spen charging coils, AGAIN keeping it thin to a fault
The battery size is the same as the 23 and 24 series. The non-ultra cameras seem to be closely the same as the s23 and s24 series. I have no use for AI, but not bringing some of those features to an $1100+ S24 is ridiculous.
Yes yes yes!!! Finally someone said it. I said don’t tell me 99% of the live event was software wtf. Only thing good about it is the slimmer bezels haha. Even 8 years still no 4k screen I’m so waiting on that. You got a sub!!
I'm on a S22 Ultra with green lines on the display after an update. Now I either want a S25 Ultra or iPhone 16 Pro Max. I just don't want to get burnt again with Samsung's displays after an OS or security update.
Both are equally expensive and your S22U isn’t going to have great resale value if you got to 16PM. I am on 16PM and really it’s ok. Just understand that Apple ecosystem is a lot more restrictive.
A newly launched "Ultra" phone from such a large company What people expected? a silicon-carbon battery, Qualcomm's 3D Sonic Sensor Gen 2, the M14 display, a 16GB variant, 3000 nits of brightness, faster charging and battery upgrades, MagSafe capabilities, satellite connectivity, PWM dimming, a low-noise camera with a 1-inch sensor, and video recording comparable to iPhones. But What people got? Bluetooth removed from S-pen 😅
At this point, we should all wait for the OPPO find X8 ULTRA or the vivo x200 ultra. It'll come with 6000mah battery at least, and 1 inch camera sensors with all the bells and whistles.
Glad the overall sentiment of the industry is the same. These 3 companies need to be given competition by chinese manufacturers who provide the world in 1000$.
Some good points were made. The issue I have is I'm on Verizon, the worst carrier to put unlocked phones on. I know from from personal experience. I would consider the OnePlus 13 but I'm concerned about camera quality. Biggest concern is how it work on Verizon. My only options for a new cellphone this year would be the Pixel 9 XL Pro, Galaxy S25 Ultra, or iPhone. I refuse to get an iPhone. So that leaves the Pixel 9 xl pro with a chip set that I doubt will last the full seven years of software updates. I doubt it will last three years of updates. That means my only choice is the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. The RAM may be less than the pixel 9xl pro but I think the Galaxy S25 Ultra chipset and RAM combo has a better chance of lasting the full 7 years of updates. 10:10 I have a S23 Ultra and One UI 7.x will be my last os update. It is time for me to get a new phone. What I personally like about the Galaxy s25 Ultra: - flat or mostly flat screen with 2.5D curved edges. Hopefully, I can use tempered glass screen protectors again. I hated curved screens when they came out around 2007 and still hate them now. - I like the modified curved corner design. Seriously, there is only so much a company can do innovate the slab phone. Literally the S25 Ultra is two pieces of glass with electronics in it with a metal frame connecting the two pieces. -- I'm getting two camera lens upgrades coming from the S23 Ultra.
needed an upgrade more than ever this year and was so excited to see the 25 line after the 24 line set such a standard. Definitely skipping this generation. Unsure if I should get a 24 ultra, 1+ 13, or grab a mid ranger until the S26 line
Definitely glad he touched on the corner topic. I never understood how it was uncomfortable. Like seriously, how tight are u gripping your damn phone. The s25 will be a major flop.
I got the OnePlus 13 and its an absolutely great phone. Smooth, fast, versatile, and that battery... I haven't found anything i dont like about it. I was debating on waiting for the S25U but with all the rumors and leaks, i felt like the 1+13 was the one. I dont miss the S pen of my S23U. Imo if you got a phone thats a couple of years old or older, the OnePlus 13 or the 13R, is the one to get.
I have the 21 ultra and am looking to buy. Which phone would you recommend right now? I am not very fond of the 25 ultra. My requirements: big screen, fast charge, good display. Thats it.
Feck that , methinks I'll be sticking with my 23 Ultra for another year. Taking away the S-Pen bluetooth is criminal, I'm a heavy user and love it. Smashing upload.
Something was telling me not to jump. All the videos and stats I looked at seemed to praise the S25 phone even though all models seem very similar. The price didn't make sense because it looks very similar to the 24 model. I'm glad I found your video because you broke it down further and confirmed my suspicions. Now I'm stuck because I have an older phone that is going out and I'm looking to buy one... not sure what to look at since ive been a Samsung fan for years now. Unlike Apple fans we know when to hold the company accountable and I will not be paying that much for a repackaged phone with a few bells and whistles for more money.
i still have the original samsung galaxy s10+ and i decided after 6 yrs of owning this that this was a much needed upgrade..... yes i am disappointed that the s-pen feature is gone even though i myself have never experienced it myself..... but i gave into it only because i have the samsung watch and samsung dex on this new phone is still better in my opinion
Thank you for the honesty, man. I agree with everything you said! People need to stop upgrading every year, and I include myself in that. +1 subscriber
Thank you for your thoughts, I feel the same way about the 25 ultra , I'm on a s22 ultra I'm looking to upgrade this year , and I'm skipping the 25 ultra they are offering less for more money , they have been removing things for the phone and the box since the s20 ultra ,I will be buying the OnePlus 13 or the oppo find x8 pro
I really hate the approach of "well barely anyone is using this so we're going to get rid of it" which we all know is an excuse for cost cutting. It's worrying that this could apply to many other things such as Dex.
Not having bluetooth pen kills it for me and I'm not upgrading Samsung anymore until they get rid of the black hole in the screen for the camera there is no reason they can't do away with the black hole at this point. It appears that Samsung is nickel and diming us with little nonsensical upgrades. Good video.
Just like iPhone users people are still going to buy these phones even if they're not much different from last ones. Just because they're the new model.
Finally a youtuber saying what we're all thinking. Samsung Pushing Ai while supply only 12 gb ram ... Very future proof . Same cameras for 4 years, only 5000mah battery, slow charging, slow wireless charge and removing s pen features and last years M13 screen when you supple google and apple with better M14 ones. Only IP68. I dont mind things being removed but dont try charging £1300 for a phone with mid teir hardware specs especially when you get better specs for less from Chinese phones like one plus, vivo and Honor. Also nobody is telling everyone those AI features are only free for 6 months. Im getting one plus 3 thats top spec for £900
We should be talking about battery tech in the same way these top of the line phone companies prioritise camera technology. Battery life, charging speed are pretty big factors for me when considering of getting a new phone.

I am NOT upgrading this time until they put back the battery for bluetooth on my S-Pen! It's unforgivable.
Out of curiosity, why is the Bluetooth do useful for you? What other devices do you use it with?
boo hoo
You can do some of the things that you could do with the Bluetooth function on the pen with the watch 7, which you get for free when you pre ordered
So.... youre not upgrading then?

Scamsung s25 Ultra is a joke
Cell phone technology stopped being groundbreaking years ago. Most companies are just pumping out hype instead of innovation. Unless you have a 2, 3, or even 4 generation old phone, upgrading every year is a waste of money.
I still have Note 9 8/512 yet even I don't feel the need to.
1. No SDcard support
2. No phone jack
3. No physical finger print scanner
4. Downgraded Spen
5. Below 6000mah
6. Less than 16GB RAM
7. No charger included
No thank you.

@@deserter___maybe on paper you would notice a difference but in daily use you won’t.
I hear the anti reflective coating wears off. Read user reviews

Agreed!
You are spot on. Samsung fanboys are the most hypocritical people you will ever encounter in the tech community.
I totally agree that Samsung and Apple only rely on brand loyalty and people follow like some sort of sect without any kind of critical mind!
for me Samsung makes the only competitive compact phone after i consider the price im getting it for. the s25 base model was 260 USD that i had to pay with a trade in of an s22 base model oh and it also came with free galaxy buds 3 pro the trade in offers in Australia are just insane. and for that price there is NOTHING even remotely close.
i also picked up an s25 ultra for a family member for 580 USD with an s21 fe trade in and this also came with buds 3 pro. i feel sorry for the people that buy theese things at full price you are getting scammed hahaha
16gb or bust. Should be 24gb even. No apps should swap ever.
u dont really need 16gb yet & especially not in 2 years - in 5 years then maybe but prob still not since phones with 8gb just run smooth, android is pretty much finished. if ur a heavy gamer that would be different, but the SoC itself will struggle before u reach peak 16gb usage. if u see 10/12gb usage on ram on ur phone thats because a lot of apps are still cached. if u go for 16gb u will the same issue depending on ur phones ram management - depending on the brand it can be quite aggressive too. - & no, AI doesnt need much ram, at least for now. most stuff is cloud based or 50/50 & for most AI features & upcoming features 8gb ram for AI tasks are normal - we are so many years behind with AI & most likely the cloud solution is here to stay since it the best to update their LLM on a daily basis, sure u can release unpolished software that then can chunk up 16gb+ ram, but u should never buy it then in the first place
for the price though it should been at least 16gb.

I was almost going to upgrade from my S21Ultra which is still working like the day I got it. Today however, I had the displeasure of holding the s25 ultra in my hand naked, and then with a case on it. your aesthetics , or your proper sense of change. Especially about that one, the youtuber's
proper sense of change is too new age. We old dinosaurs could not care a little bit about it.
Thank you for calling out Sammie on this b.s.!

They made a mistake by removing Bluetooth from the Spen
Fully agree about the battery life. Plus.......the efficiency estimate for the new chip is being compared to the s24 before the oneui update. I would assume there should be better battery use for the s24 after the update.
IS THE SAMSUNG 23 ULTRA BETTER THAN THE 25 ULTRA?
I currently have the S22 Ultra. Now, I think I will wait one more year for an S26 ultra?
Yeah, I mean who knows, you'd hope the big change is coming next year.
I could upgrade every year, but I don't see a point. Smartphones have peaked.
I appreciate it!
All these phone companies innovation bullshit and we still can't have a phone that lasts 1 week on a single charge.
With 16-24gb RAM becoming common now, 12gb is an insult.

Great content... favorite tech reviewer on youtube. No BS, all substance.
I own the S24 Ultra , the main issue with this phone is the camera.. blurry pictures.. Croping a photo, a nightmare ! .
Wow I dont have that problem am lucky then
Samsung has been releasing only 3 flagship S series phones for 5 years now whereas Apple has 4 phones that can satisfy most of their customers.
I do like that phone a lot.
@@StevealiciousTechgreat phone. Still for a couple bucks more there's clearance edge plus 2023. Used both. Couple great cheap phones from Moto now!
FUN FACT: The S24 has been on the One UI beta for months now. Samsung GALAXY Updates are 7 years. So thats a non factor.
The battery will last longer due to the new battery cooling system AND the Snapdragon elite being 3 nm compared to the S24s 4nm (thats 75% less heat and the faster the processor the less the battery has to work)
BUT they sure skimped on Hardware I agree.
I would pay extra for more HW features
AND contrary to popular belief : Id take a thicker phone ANYDAY for a larger battery/ more HW. Thin has ZERO use
Spen issue wasnt the battery, it was the spen charging coils, AGAIN keeping it thin to a fault
sticking with my S23U, it's been a perfect phone for me. having a secondary Xiaomi 14 Ultra for photos.
Yeah I need a great camera device
I fully agree, lack of BT in sPen or introducing LOG but no Raw files... like half-measures here..
The battery size is the same as the 23 and 24 series. The non-ultra cameras seem to be closely the same as the s23 and s24 series. I have no use for AI, but not bringing some of those features to an $1100+ S24 is ridiculous.
Well at least someone spoke up.. good job

I have a S23 Ultra and One UI 7.x will be my last os update. It is time for me to get a new phone. What I personally like about the Galaxy s25 Ultra:
- flat or mostly flat screen with 2.5D curved edges.
Unsure if I should get a 24 ultra, 1+ 13, or grab a mid ranger until the S26 line
samsung has positioned itself as the iphone of androids. I bought the 25 ultra but I was shocked how there were not 1 single upgrade from 23ultra.

I've just returned a Oneplus 13 because I hated the software, but right now, I feel like there's nothing out there that comes close to their hardware.
For the first time in years, im actually considering in switching to a different make.
I really hate the approach of "well barely anyone is using this so we're going to get rid of it" which we all know is an excuse for cost cutting. It's worrying that this could apply to many other things such as Dex.
DeX was a really scary one...makes me wonder what the heck they are thinking. That would've caused riots!
THANK YOU. Exactly ALL these points you made.
Not having bluetooth pen kills it for me and I'm not upgrading Samsung anymore until they get rid of the black hole in the screen for the camera there is no reason they can't do away with the black hole at this point. It appears that Samsung is nickel and diming us with little nonsensical upgrades. Good video.
I'm happy with the direction Samsung is going tbh but sad at the same time coz they're doing it apple style by giving us in small increment upgrade.

Just like iPhone users people are still going to buy these phones even if they're not much different from last ones. Just because they're the new model.
Got to milk the whales as much as they can.

Absolutely. It's part of what made the S25 Ultra so disappointing for me compared to the OnePlus 13.
.. they cut off the bluetooth from the S-pen ??!!🤨
