Great video, my friend. I, too, am a samsung fan. That's why I use them. 1ui is the best OS on the market. I've been with Samsung since the S7.If they do not bring new battery and charging next year, I am done.
@bradleyswaney6100 yeah, that's the point. If Samsung doesn't change, might be time to dip, but for now, it has plenty of fans and there are options. I appreciate you watching!
@bradleyswaney6100 even if they bring new battery tech next year what does their past tell us it tells us that they don't care to push the limits they are like a juice company creating fresh delicious juice and then water it down to sell u the same batch over 5 years all while they could bring u something new once and then that is worthy for such a big company. They stand for snail speed innovation and a inferior experience in the long run doesn't seem worth ur money if u ask me...
I weighed a bunch of options in my head before pulling the trigger on getting the S25U. The reason I went with getting it and upgrading from my S23U is: 1. I want that Snapdragon 8 Elite :) 2. I am over the curved screen and the pain it is to install screen protectors on them 3. I like the rounded corners on the S25U over the S23U 4. Only thing I ever used the S-Pen for that required Bluetooth was the shutter function which I can do remotely on my Watch 6 (and do it better) 5. Trading in my S23U gets me $750 in Samsung credit towards the S25U and the S23U is selling for less than that on Swappa 6. The Samsung credits for pre-ordering the S25U I got Buds3 Pro and a case for almost nothing With all 6 of these reasons I am happy to be getting the S25U and am hoping I get it before the estimated delivery date of 2/7!
Same the only reason I'm not going for the S24 Ultra instead of the S25 Ultra (coming from my ancient S9) - is because the SD8 Elite and all the features and positives it comes with + the possible trade-in discount coverage for the S26/S27 after. I prefer Samsung ecosystem/UI/Screen so I couldn't look at the other SD8 Elite options. Not to mention the pre-order deals even without trade-in are still pretty good where I am at th moment (outside the US). But I do agree with @StevealiciousTech ... those on the S24U don't need to upgrade at all unless you just want that SD8 Elite and don't care about the S-Pen. Even S23U users may not need to upgrade either.
I can get S25U 512GB for £600 with discount codes and trading in my S23U (instead of £1349). That is tempting. I think the similar reasons as you and also it will cost me £65 to change the battery, Will decide in a few days
Imagine only Apple was making literally no upgrades to their next phone just so you have a bigger reason to buy the previous model ( the 14 series was a joke and so does the 16 series ) When the 14 was out, you would rather have bought the 13 instead and when the 16 was out, they made the 15 seem a much better deal Now Samsung literally did the same thing. With the release of S25 Ultra, you have more reasons to get the S24 Ultra instead. Nice marketing Samsung. And i can bet everything that this year the S24 Ultra will sell more than the S25 Ultra 😂
Ty for this video it makes sense I have the last note that came out and looking to upgrade. I was on the fence about getting the S25 cause nothing really that big from the S24.
I like your reviews I just subscribed. I have the 24 ultra and I won't upgrade this phone till the bluetooth comes back to the pen and they do away with the hole at the top of the screen if they do that ill upgrade. No reason for the hole anymore. By the way after having this phone for 9 months I had to send it back to Samsung because the motherboard went bad. It is running perfect again. Turn around time was about 5 days great service from the factory.
I'm upgrading to the 25 ultra from the 23 ultra. I'm restarting my installment process on the 25 ultra . I have a year left of installment on the 23 ultra. When the 26 ultra comes out next year, i can upgrade from the 25 ultra.
Just picked up the Pixel 9 2 days ago. My first flagship phone since the Galaxy S21. That was a really good Samsung device except for the 3700 milliamp battery. Just happy to be back at a flagship level.

Note 9 here. The vibe I'm getting is Samsung and the new mobile division leader-dude want to ditch the S-Pen altogether. The S25 Ultra was a step in that direction. The current team at Samsung mobile seem to be licking Apple's bootstraps. The S25 Ultra could practically be an iPhone 16 ProMax at this point. The S-Pen is almost worthless w/o Air Commands. I will be upgrading to an S24 Ultra or iPhone 16 Pro Max, just working through the details. So sick of Samsung's one step forward, two steps back. My Note 9 is/was a beast. It needs to be replaced but it's got multiple features that you can't even get on any phone, anywhere anymore i.e. FM radio, SD card, headphone jack, and a REAL S-Pen as S-Pen was intended to be. So sick of Samsung's B.S.
OnePlus for the win, i had a s24 ultra ... was promised the best battery life, it was garbage with slow charging! since i switched to oneplus 12 my charging is amazing, battery life is better and i still enjoy the performance, though one other note, i am tired of the AI shit being a selling point, i want to disable all AI stuff all together, especially if phone makers are going to start charging for it, heck no, i will not be paying a cent for AI
@StevealiciousTech I have not used a OnePlus 13 but I can imagine it's a similar experience to my OnePlus 12, I can imagine it's going to be impressive. I live in NZ, so our retailers don't stock OnePlus. Only very few bother. It was worth taking the chance
I was prepared to do an early upgrade to the S25U from my S24U.... but after i saw the device instore from a Samsung rep a week before the unpacked, i changed my mind lol. OneUI 7 is on the way. Ill hold tight for another year.
Just liked and subscribed. Thanks for confirming my thoughts. planning to upgrade/ buy phone outright in full either new s25 ultra or discounted s24 ultra. S24 ultra it is !
Losing the Bluetooth on S-pen was bad enough, now I find out there is no smart view cover case anymore 😢 I've always had that case since ages - a real loss 🤷🏻
I'll be keeping my S24 Ultra for another year! That sPen downgrade was too much of a let-down. Although I liked the soft corners of the 25, the overall design of the S24 Ultra is still just so good!
Another perfect video, Steve. Many S25 Ultra buyers will be upset that you suggested the older model, but this is a more realistic and ideal upgrade than the new model.
I am on the Note 9 so need to upgrade. I will go with the S25 Ultra as I just want the best again. I use the stylus for work and the 2 way satellite texting feature may come in handy when I am out in the country.
The reason I'm upgrading from the 23 ultra to the 25 ultra is because of ram. My 23 has 8gb of storage which isn't enough. If i have known that the 23 ultra had 12gb of ram i would have chosen that version in 2023. I really don't use the s pen for anything
I'm a diehard Samsung user since the Galaxy S3. I currently have the Z Fold 5. I'm waiting for the Fold 7, hoping that it'll look like the Fold 6 SE. If the 7 is disappointing, I'm not sure I'll stay with Samsung
Help please? The last Galaxy device that I used was S21 Ultra then I switched to iPhone 14 Pro. I am thinking to upgrade to S25 Ultra, because my carrier is offering me a sweat deal. Should I take it?
I'd give everyone an advise, as every start of the year, treat your Ultra/premium phones from last year as a flagship one, meaning, treat it like it is still the latest or newest phone from them, because really, an s24U, or say iphone16pm, are still very powerful regardless if they are two gen old.
trading my s23u in for the s25u. looking forward to the flat screen, the curve was a little meh for me because it's inaccessible for drawing/writing/cropping, better performance, better camera/video (for my business), aaand my s23u has been stuttering a bit. apps freeze when they open, phone locks up and i have to restart it, things don't load as quick as they use to, my s-pen pops out of the slot sometimes. could be a me issue, but i never had these issues with the S21U or even the note10. this will probably be my last upgrade UNLESS samsung pulls something drastic in the next few years. may give pixel a try if samsung doesn't go anywhere lol
Personally, I do not like the S25 Ultra. I would have liked a bigger battery, faster charging, and better facial recognition, and I don't like the design at all. On the other hand, I read a lot of comments about "I stay with my S24 Ultra." ...I mean...duh? It's a 1,300 dllrs phone, they are not to change year after year, they are to attract a different audience or for people who do need to update their phone. Of course, everyone does what they want with their money.
I just bought an S24 Ultra a month ago for Christmas because there was a 400€ discount on it. After the S25 Ultra launch, I think I made a good choice because there isn't much about the S25 Ultra that's that different.
I switched from S21 Ultra which i dropped and broke the screen. I was thinking to get S25 ultra, but its so expensive. I decided to go for S24 Ultra which i got on discount for about 1000 dollar + free galaxy buds 3. I was actually highly amazed how good this phone is and how much of switch it was from S21. The battery is outrageously good. Like i dont even drain 40 percent of it all day. My s21 was always at 15-20 at the end of the day. Its fast and very smart. Absolutely love it. S25 looks nice etc, but aint paying almost 1700 dollar for a phone. I actually will get second hand Samsung S10 ultra tab in pretty much new shape. So i get ultra tab and ultra phone for s25 money. I think buying phone on release this day is the dumbest mistake you do. Essentially paying double the money of S24 ultra to get probably 5 percent better phone when the same phone will half the price in a year. S25 will be worth it in a year when S26 is about to be released.
These guys need a complete rethink. I am looking at Vivo and Honor for the first time and I bought my wife and I high end Motos because they screwed up so bad. My note 10 plus is my secondary to go with my tab s8 need the spen.
Partner had a really bad experience with his 24U. The olephobic coating is wearing off and you have to wiggle any USB C cord about to get a charge. And he's only had the phone for about 7 months. From what I've heard the 24U has a bunch of problems.
Strange, I don't know, I haven't heard that or had anything like that with mine, but you never know. There are always issues with devices, but obviously bad when it happens to yours.
Why reward samsung by buying their old devices... Their future is messed up the 25 ultra shows their attitude nothing I will support oneplus has a exciting device for less money with more ram its like deepseek vs open ai the world needs more competition to get rid of the bs
The OnePlus 13 is amazing, but you're not really rewarding Samsung when you buy them either renewed or new old stock on Amazon, Samsung isn't making anything. And some people will want a Samsung no matter what, as you've seen. But I do love that OnePlus 13.
@StevealiciousTech but u can reward oneplus a company that seems to push what is possible like with aqua touch what a great innovation weak spot neutralised... Western companies in general sell u overpriced things pretty toxic attitude. The new subscription price for example is based on how open ai does things and not deepseek meaning supporting them is a disservice to ur own resources and outlook for the future they don't deliver value they lean more towards extraction in a inefficient and wasteful way the logic behind their devices and software is messed up one way or the other... Seeing oneplus 13 makes u excited that somebody seems to care about the basics in a smart advanced way common sense has entered the room so to say
@TristanWegner-mw3id don't get it twisted, I love the OnePlus 13 and people should absolutely pick one up, but there will be people who want to stick with Samsung either way.
@ljacobs357 for less money that gets the foundation right like new battery tech making ur phone live longer nothing is more annoying if ur device after 2-3 years loses its battery quality and u lose flexibility
After playing around with my Orange 🍊 S24 Ultra, I decided to cancel my S25 Ultra Jet Black. My Orange S24 Ultra looks way better than any S25 Ultra and it has a Bluetooth S Pen. I used to upgrade every year but since cell phones are acting like cars and doing significant upgrades every 3 to 5 years then there is no need for me to upgrade every year.
It's a no-brainer choice. Every single reviewer I've watched, and I did my homework before purchasing the S24U yesterday, raves on about the seamless and intuitive software experience on the S25U. But that is not not the phone merit. In a couple of month/updates, the S24U will probably get most if not all of those upgraded features. Why spend an extra $500 on a phone that just so happens to have them now?
Fast Charging is a core requirement. So even at 5000 battery. It greatly improves user experience. Especially when you have to go out a d a quick 5 min. Real fast charging save the day. Yet disgusting Samsung refuse to upgrade its seriously outdated 45W slow charging. ALSO ONE UI SUCK.. GESTURES SUCK. SOMEONE MUST BE FIRED FOR ALL THE ABOVE FAILURE.
This is exactly the reason why I left apple after iphone 3, 5, 8 and 12. The dynamic island was the straw that broke my back. Rarely anything new, insane prices. They think they can sell anything to a loyal customer. Currently using s23 ultra. I really, really would have liked to get the newest ultra but dont like the route their taking with boxier design and stripping the pen. Kinda reminds me of apple all over... But what to do? Oneplus13 or just wait another year?!
@@thomassollberger2607vivo honor and xiaomi. Check vivo x100 ultra camera is amazing number one in the world. Excitement is in China phones like oneplus

Apple lost its homework with the iPhone 16 and somehow Samsung managed to do the same with the S25 lineup… I use an iphone 15 for personal use and just bought an s24 ultra for business purposes (got it from half the price with no carrier contract)… so they better not count me as a customer for like 2 or 3 years now lol 😂
So, Samsung had the S24U on sale for $799 for a few days. I bought it even though I don’t like big phones. I knew I wanted S25 base but hit buy anyway. When I called to return S24U, the offered me $80 off to keep. So, $720 to keep. Have the S25 arriving soon. Only keep one. First world problems. 😂
@StevealiciousTech You did. That one is on me, kinda checked out from the last bit there. But my point still stands. I have only seen a few RUclipsrs or any other media talk about the base S25. Seems like everyone else has this laser focus on the ultra. Makes it hard to find any decent info on it. So kudos to you for talking about it. I have been seriously considering it as a replacement for my fold 4 after I realized that lugging around a brick is just not for me.
Yeah, it's definitely nice to see a relatively compromise-free solution. I still would like a QHD display, but at smaller display sizes, it's less noticeable. I do think it's probably the most interesting phone in the lineup this year.
@@StevealiciousTech Yah, funny enough it's still an improvement over the fold 4's external display so I'm happy. I use dex a lot with xreal glasses so the display matters less to me than the CPU and RAM since I can just hook it up to a "larger" display.
Couldn't agree more with your review. S24U 1TB. It is great! S-Pen Bluetooth is more polarizing than people think. Penny wise and pound foolish. Update is not worth the Extra $500 for trade-in.
I am looking for deals on Samsung's renewed program, none really right now. I busted my screen sadly on my beloved S21 Ultra, and now on my backup Note 20 Ultra. Good device, but not good longevity-wise IMO.
People said not to get the s24 ultra if you have a s23 ultra but People liked the s24 ultra because it kept the same style of the s23 ultra and was better. Now People are saying get the s25 ultra and upgrade from the s23 ultra but it's not the same form factor and the s pen was downgraded. I think you should listen to how you are feeling inside because some people missed out on the s24 ultra about to got straight to the s25 ultra. I feel like People that have the s21 ultra should upgrade now and People that wanted to keep up with technology.
@@StevealiciousTech it's a big leap up and the S23 Ultra trade in value is slowly diminishing. Maybe next year you will dish out more money to buy the 26 ultra.

I'd give everyone an advise, as every start of the year, treat your Ultra/premium phones from last year as a flagship one, meaning, treat it like it is still the latest or newest phone from them, because really, an s24U, or say iphone16pm, are still very powerful regardless if they are two gen old.
The most complete phone Samsung ever made was the Note 9. It only lacks a 3rd camera compared to modern ones.
trading my s23u in for the s25u. looking forward to the flat screen, the curve was a little meh for me because it's inaccessible for drawing/writing/cropping, better performance, better camera/video (for my business), aaand my s23u has been stuttering a bit. apps freeze when they open, phone locks up and i have to restart it, things don't load as quick as they use to, my s-pen pops out of the slot sometimes. could be a me issue, but i never had these issues with the S21U or even the note10.
this will probably be my last upgrade UNLESS samsung pulls something drastic in the next few years. may give pixel a try if samsung doesn't go anywhere lol
Getting OnePlus 13 definitely! 24gb 1T less then a grand a still compete with Samsung and iPhone!
Good advice i think. Just sad our trade in offers such here in New Zealand
Still on my iPhone 13 Pro going on 4 years & counting.
Got an s24 ultra. It's fine, a little tough to get in and out of the pocket. Need to flash mine to get away from persistent ota updates.
I just bought an S24 Ultra a month ago for Christmas because there was a 400€ discount on it. After the S25 Ultra launch, I think I made a good choice because there isn't much about the S25 Ultra that's that different.
Keeping my s24 ultra 1TB.
I love the look and feel of this beast, and it has a functional S-Pen! 🤭
Where to buy with T-Mobile carrier and no trade in?
I don't know? You need a T-mobile one only? I The regular ones are unlocked, can use it anywhere.
I've had a lot of Samsung phone over the years, currently using an iPhone. If/When I go android again, I might try the Pixel.
I think the Huawei mate xt or hinor magic is an even cooler choice since I have the s23 ultra
There are always issues with devices, but obviously bad when it happens to yours.
see i considered the 24U but the display issues are still not fixed and they never will be so its an absolute no go
If you have a S24, it's worth the upgrade after the trade-in offers that are hard to pass up.
Is that 860 for a new s24 ultra
Yes, prices float. I believe it goes between $860-900 for new, slightly less for renewed.
OnePlus great hardware but that's it.
Keeping the S21 Ultra. I asked my wife as she uses it mainly and she said it’s still a fantastic phone
There's a samsung ultra?
This is exactly the reason why I left apple after iphone 3, 5, 8 and 12. The dynamic island was the straw that broke my back. Rarely anything new, insane prices. They think they can sell anything to a loyal customer.
Currently using s23 ultra. I really, really would have liked to get the newest ultra but dont like the route their taking with boxier design and stripping the pen. Kinda reminds me of apple all over...
But what to do? Oneplus13 or just wait another year?!
OnePlus 13 is pretty good, but the S23U is solid, you can definitely get away with seeing what the S26 brings.
Yeah.. but im little of a tech geek myself and waiting just breaks my soul in some sence when I would love to have the latest and greatest, you know.
@@thomassollberger2607vivo honor and xiaomi. Check vivo x100 ultra camera is amazing number one in the world. Excitement is in China phones like oneplus
Steve, how about an update on the One Plus 13?
It's coming. I had to swap out for the S25 Plus, but I was absolutely loving it. Great performance, gorgeous display, feels amazing in the hand, can't kill the battery, smooth software this year. Good stuff.
@StevealiciousTech okay. Thanks. Do you recommend the One Plus 13 over the s25 ultra?
I love the pixel! Got a pixel 9 pro but I use the S24 ultra. So glad I didn't upgrade
I don't like the design of the S24U, but man, it's just infinitely better than the S25U.
One plus. Please add a pen to the OnePlus high-end phones. I will switch in a second when it's available.
See ya
If your buying it for AI bear in mind you are going to be charged for it!!! I’ll keep my 23 ultra thanks it’s mint condition and I prefer the 23 ultra looks and feel!!!
S23 ULTRA owner here. I absolutely CAN'T STAND THE 45W SLOW CHARGING NO MORE.
Unfortunately the 512gb ultra 24 is still priced high on amazon.
Yeah, depends on model and Global version and the individual sellers, it's a crap shoot. Just have to almost set an alert and wait for one to pop.
Even if they had the spen bt i still prefer the unique design of my s24 utra. When i hold 24ultra with the torras pstand case its very very good and premium feel that no other phones can give
Oneplus Open 2. Cant wait!!!
Going to go back to a Galaxy Note 7. Good idea??
I don't like the design of s25U . It's look cheap . S24/23U looks more premium.
Agreed. It looks like an A series phone
So it's 850 with tradein for S24U, and $950 tradein for S25U why should i pick last year's phone?
What? No
@@hhhmmmmmmmm exactly, id buy S25 instead of S24...
@@haihao2942 what r u trading in to get s25u for $950?
Just for the boxy design premium look and Spen functionality I am buying the s24 ultra. The s25 ultra looks like a big A series
@@andreferguson3376 no imo they look like zfold series..
Trying the S24U it doesn't feel great in my Hand, the corner is causing pain in my hand, and im the type who grip the phone, not holding it with my pinky..
Why would i waste money on this when ive got a great phone in the S24 plus.
Still rocking my note 10+ 😂
Love it!!
Me too
Still running s22ultra runs well goid pictures great spen runs AI well 5 to 6 hours on screen , can't see the point yet , was interested i. The 24 but better zoom etc . On my 22ultra saving money
Apple lost its homework with the iPhone 16 and somehow Samsung managed to do the same with the S25 lineup… I use an iphone 15 for personal use and just bought an s24 ultra for business purposes (got it from half the price with no carrier contract)… so they better not count me as a customer for like 2 or 3 years now lol 😂
why would i get the s24 ultra when i can get the s25 ultra?
i want the elite chip to slay the iphones
Wrong the 24 isn't cheap enough to get over the 25 you would only save a couple hundred.
Weird guy
@ thank u. Sorry to trigger ur very delicate sensibility.
Yeah, that's definitely what happened here
@@mooseratt obviously. Comprehension is weird, for u.
Oh for sure, weirdo
I will acquire the S25 Ultra, despite owning an S24 Ultra.
Why is everyone only talking about the ultra? The standard S25 has almost all the same specs as the ultra for half the price.
I mention the S25 standard in this video...
If I jump ship I'm going back to iPhone
Couldn't agree more with your review.
S24U 1TB. It is great!
S-Pen Bluetooth is more polarizing than people think. Penny wise and pound foolish.
Update is not worth the Extra $500 for trade-in.
The Samsung device I'd buy in 2025? The S21U, S22U or S23U. OR, if not ultra, perhaps an S24+.
S23U is still a strong choice as well.
I am looking for deals on Samsung's renewed program, none really right now. I busted my screen sadly on my beloved S21 Ultra, and now on my backup Note 20 Ultra. Good device, but not good longevity-wise IMO.
Yeah, that SD865 is starting to show it's age just a little.
If they are remowing fetures than they need to lower the price. In europe its 1459 eur for 256gb.
S24 Ultra still the goat still Jan 2026 at least 💪
I'm skipping the s25 ultra and just wait for the s25 ultra instead
Using a j-series over a pixel is crazy!
People said not to get the S24 Ultra at $1,300-1,400, price matters. If you have an S23U, I still don't think you should even jump to the S25U.
@@StevealiciousTech it's a big leap up and the S23 Ultra trade in value is slowly diminishing. Maybe next year you will dish out more money to buy the 26 ultra.
@@b.a.b.marlonb.1694 and if it's worth it, I'll have less issue doing that.
If you have the money to make up difference they will give you for trading in price. And if you can make it up next year, I know you can do it now.
China coming.
Id leave Samsung for a Google Pixel 10 Fold 🤔 . Software is the best Android Software on Google Pixel. Google & Samsung should merge
