- Let's compare some of the materials Visconti uses for nibs. I have not included their steel nibs, but I've found those to be stiff but smooth, not unlike the Chromium18 nibs.

Really great comparison! I hope you will do more of these kind of videos in the future!
I absolutely LOVE your videos, and I wish I had your absolutely amazing penmanship! Love watching your content!
S. S Thank you very much!
You are correct. The higher gold content accounts for the more yellow color. Compare that 18k to a Sailor 21k, and see the diff. The 21k nib gold color should be brighter, shinier and richer. Love your vids by the way; whether it be learning or just pure enjoyment of pens.
sbrbrown: Thank you for your response. Regards.
nice pieces to have! thanks for the presentation.
Thanks Stephen , very interesting and enlightening.
Thank you, scary Stephen.
You won't scare me on My 5 inch screen.

Nice video, Dr. Brown! Having owned all four, I think I like the 18kt the most, followed by the 23kt Pd. I do love the Cr-18 because I can fill my Opera Crystal Dark Age with the mosquito filler attachment. It makes filling from any bottle, including the 35 mL J. Herbin, a breeze.
Parsa Shamloo that sounds extremely cool
I want a Visconti collection like that someday... For now, I love my Van Gogh Starry Night... Perhaps the Homo Sapiens next...
Hey hey hey bro!!!!! I dont have 18 k chromium nib from visconty but as per my knowledge chromium is hardest metal on earth and its expensive too and it is not steel steel is just an alloy with small amout of chromium . If i m wrong correct me .?
Again excellent video
Very good, thanks! It seems that NIB 14K is a dream come true. Sadly it's not easy to find. If someone would like to have a nice gold "semi flex" NIB, which nowadays model would you recommend?

One dream pen is a master wit 14k broad
Superb video.
Would you kindly make more videos because i like your reviews
Tarkoon Miller Yes, I release two a week
The Flextouch has the same material I think but it has cuts made at the sides to allow the nib to flex. I've not tried it myself but I'm keen to know how much it flexes.
+Sean Koh I have used it and it is soft, but I'd call it semi-flex at best.
Is it possible to replace a hard steel nib for a much better one? I have a Parker purchased from WH Smiths; the nib is completely inflexible. Regards.
0:17 shootout!!
It's the Parker IM I refer to. I thought the nib to be solid and hard so, after watching your video on a Waterman Hemisphere I purchased that, it is superb. What nib could I replant in the Parker IM and how do I obtain one? Regards. (I cannot respond properly) ?
Great comparison, thanks! I wonder how your 14K gold and Pd nibs compare to m1000 in terms of springiness?
Anwar Ul Haq My 14k is springier. the palladium nibs vary from nib to nib: some are stiff, others are semi-flex
are the opera/opera masters no longer being produced?
Yes, they are still produced but often as limited editions
"I have not included their steel nibs, but I've found those to be stiff but smooth, not unlike the Chromium18 nibs."
The Chromium 18 is a type of stainless steel itself. 18/10 steel I believe. 18% Chromium and 10% nickel.
