this video gave me a good insight of the cut out systems. planing to install a kit on my car as well.
I’m glad i could help. I have noticed a downside to them after driving it for a bit. If you’re too close to the o2sensors, it can trigger an O2 sensor engine code. I have to clear it every time i turn on the car.
Epic video man, did it increase your car's performance?
This actually motivated me to go to a 3inch full catback. Was messing around on a buddy’s dyno and noticed like 50-60hp increase when these were open, surprised the heck out of us. Didn’t realize how restricting the 2.5 in borla setup was
Ahh a michigan car 🇺🇸
Yessir! I’ve actually seen your g8 at car meets and WW a few times!
Mashallah absolutely beautiful
Does the car need to be tuned with it open ?
What size are yours? Trying to buy says it comes in different sizes but nothing to click on size from Amazon
Mine are 2.5inch
Mahsallah nice job bro
habibi thank you
To far up makes it sound like exhaust leak
Nice sound. I got some low profile ones where should i place them? Before the cats?
Thank you. Id try keep them at least 17in away from where the O2 sensors are located otherwise it’ll trigger your CEL. If you could fit them before the mufflers somewhere, that’d be the route to go in my opinion
@@MJAltairy i got some granatelli and spoke to them they said they put theres in most cars up the front after the cats.
@@z0ke i mean ya thats fine, that’s what i did for my car but it does trigger my O2 sensors to throw a code every time i start up the car even with them closed. But i have a an OBD scanner that clears it every time.
@@MJAltairy can a tune fix it
@@z0ke I’m sure it could but I haven’t looked into it enough
I think having it more to the back would have been better
That was the original plan. But for the style cutouts which i ended up buying, this was the best spot for them. Towards the back they would either hit into eachother or be too close to the plastic cover for the spare tire area (which may not handle the heat). If i was to redo this, id just get a low profile style flange that T’s off the exhaust and put them in the rear.
Try to oder a pair of cutouts for my gto 2005 did you know any good webside. To get a good cutouts ?
Eduardo Moreno i ended up going with these (badlanzhpe) cutouts just because they come with a 5 year warranty.
Badlanzhpe
Any problems with these cut outs yet? I'm planning on buying these for my G8 but installing them a little farther back.
Dont get these for the g8. There’s no space to install them further back, initially that was plan but I couldn’t find a decent spot for them. I would get the QTP low pros and you could have those fabbed up to go further back. These are too bulky and ive already had two solder points break on me. Luckily I know how to solder so i fixed the issues quick.
@@MJAltairy ok good to know thanks man, my plan was to install them before the mufflers, my setup has a sharpe 90° bend that I thought they would fit on
I also just seen that badlanz makes a low profile one similar to the qtp brand, I don't know if they would be any better or not, I could see the ones you have taking a lot of space
MRC GARAGE! If you’re good with fab work where you can cut a hole in the side of the exhaust tubing and add a low profile cutout at that bend before the mufflers then id say go for it. I thought i did enough research before i bought my set but apparently not. I didnt want to post this vid at first but i wanted to show the hassle i went through to get these on lol
