Those U pipes as you call them are actually solo j-pipes. They actually eliminate drone. So you can delete the resonators and you can put a straight pipe all the way to the back but unless you want a little bit of drone at certain RPMs you should leave the j-pipes on.

Needs that 3.5 inch pipe all way back
2” headers? I got 1 7/8 obx they hit steering shaft when downshifting trying to find solution
How was the fitment with the steering shaft after the install? And part # for these headers?
keep the mid muffler get rid of the huge duals for better sound
